He’s trying to push Lisa Nandy as to whether any man can self identify and compete in woman’s sports. He’s actually trying to talk some sense and saying it’s unfair to woman’s rights. Making really good points about trans rights overriding woman’s rights.
She will not give a straight answer to anything.

She has done very well in keeping hold of support from the "he was very mean to Lisa" community.

Sometimes known as the “I loathe Piers Morgan” community. And let’s face it, he talked all over her during her answers—sometimes trying to get her to answer the actual question, which is fair enough, but other times reiterating his own stance and adding to his argument.

The collective view here might be different had PM been arguing a point with which GC feminists don’t agree. Might as well acknowledge that and think about it.

As for Nandy, I wouldn’t trust her to win any PMQ by saying ‘less heat, more light’; I don’t care for politicians who take a stance and THEN say there needs to be a committee set up to validate explore the stance (I’m side-eyeing you, Nicola Sturgeon); and to Nandy’s claim that there would be a need for rules...?

There were rules in place. Men compete against men and women compete against women. Those are the rules, that’s how Women’s Sport was born.

Ffs.

bellinisurge · 10/03/2020 15:59

I agree. Piers Fucking Morgan. Susanna Reid was obviously making GC noises. I would love to see her be brave enough to take the lead on this.

andyoldlabour · 10/03/2020 16:00

"There were rules in place. Men compete against men and women compete against women. Those are the rules, that’s how Women’s Sport was born."

Unfortunately, it is no longer that simple and it was largely down to one of the people Lisa Nandy supports and their undue influencing of the International Olympic Committee in 2015.

It is a pity Piers didn't hold up a photo of the weight lifter in question.

Mockerswithnoknockers · 10/03/2020 16:10

Not only is she clueless, she has not a clue about how clueless she is.

Oh yes, This.

She is Socialist Royalty. Her Dad's name was mentioned in hushed and revered tones when I was at Uni. She probably thinks she got all the jobs she held on merit alone.

DuLANGDuLANGDuLANG · 10/03/2020 16:11

Ah, yes. Mx Hubbard of the Pink Trainers.

I have just played the video from GNB for my DW, she watched three minutes, swore at the screen and her parting words were - "she is a stupid POS"

andyoldlabour · 10/03/2020 16:50

Should have been GMB

LambriniSocialist · 10/03/2020 16:55

Shocking to see her mangle what he said to make it sound like he was saying transwomen are grotesque instead of what he did say, that it was grotesquely unfair to women, in an effort to close him down.

Oh my god did she actually do this? Wtf?Talk about a stretch!

I do wish Piers would leave the whole 'identifying as a penguin' thing alone though. It just gives fuel to the 'your just like the homophobes of the past' brigade when they compare it to people saying that gay people would want to start shagging animals etc.

LambriniSocialist · 10/03/2020 17:01

I just don't get it - does she actually believe she could win a general election with this horseshit?

Childrenofthestones · 10/03/2020 17:18

Once again the Speccy is spot on.

"How do you save a party that doesn't want to be saved"

Bananabixfloof · 10/03/2020 18:19

A very good rebuttal would be
If kier starmer id'd as female and won the labour leadership race would that be fair?

Needmoresleep · 10/03/2020 18:26

When did politicians stop thinking they were there to represent the electorate, and start thinking they were there to tell us what we should believe or be concerned about.

Nandy seems to have no awareness of the concerns of ordinary people, the people she needs on side, if she wants to be elected Prime Minister.

Staggeringly naive.

She does seem to think that its all about him being mean and her being nice, she should grow up, he is an interviewer, she is a politician, he is meant to give her a hard time. Its about whether her ideas stand up to scrutiny not whether she is nicer than the person scritinizing her.

Datun · 10/03/2020 18:53

I'm sick to death of people focusing on whether or not someone is mean, rather than how fucking 'mean' it is to put a woman prisoner in a cell with a rapist as part of her sentence.

SophocIestheFox · 10/03/2020 18:53

Another live demo of the Dunning Kruger effect from the Labour Party there.

I never cease to be amazed at how otherwise bright people seem to be able to outsource their thinking on this topic and just regurgitate nonsense sound bites at will without ever stopping to wonder if it makes any damn sense at all.

LynnSchmob · 10/03/2020 18:57

She’d like to be the future prime minister and she has the nerve to complain about someone being mean 🤦‍♀️ Put the whole self ID thing to one side and she still doesn’t have what it takes to be a leader. What a drip.

Angryresister · 10/03/2020 19:17

It’s even worse than we think and this is supposed to be a potential leader? Never again will millions of us actual women be able to vote Labour .

Italiangreyhound · 10/03/2020 19:56

Hilarious. Peirs Morgan asks Lisa Nandy if she is still identifying as a woman. She doesn't answer but shakes her head!

She has just lost the plot.

littlbrowndog · 10/03/2020 20:03

Mean jeez

When men are sexually assaulting women in women’s jails

Seems like she gives no fucks about them

GeordieTerf · 10/03/2020 20:28

How mental is it that loudmouth obnoxious men such as Piers Morgan are the only people in the media sticking up for women's rights?

LynnSchmob · 10/03/2020 20:29

I wonder how the good people of Wigan feel about having this utter muppet representing them?

musicposy · 10/03/2020 20:41

I think interviewers etc need to go hard on the "assigned sex at birth" bollocks. Because it's basically coming from a crazy paranoid conspiracy theorist pov

Totally agree. It was ridiculous, all that wittering on about being given a wristband. Have we really got to a point where we can’t say a baby is born male or female? Where all the science counts for nothing?

I think many people will have had no idea it’s got like this and this will hopefully have been good at letting people see what is going on. I really didn’t ever expect to be so on the side of Piers Morgan!

The sad thing is I (like many others, I’m sure) used to vote labour. But they have utterly thrown women under the bus. There’s just no way now. They haven’t learnt at all from the last election.

OP posts:
Redshoeblueshoe · 10/03/2020 20:53

I'm so glad baby Namdy had a wristband, otherwise how else would they known what sex it is.

I wonder if I should apply for a job as Assigner ?
Sounds like fun.
I could really mix things up a bit
