Thank you seems inadequate to convey my appreciation to all the adult human females who have defined the word woman through the ages. And to all who are fighting to keep the definition alive today.

And to all those on Mumsnet who have helped me feel sane, who have explained things with clarity and exposing sunlight as it goes. Thank you!

I am always amazed though that the one day of the year to recognize the efforts of past women and what is needed to continue to their efforts gets hijacked.

I'm glad for this space where women (the adult human female kind) from all backgrounds can share their viewpoints and concerns, their analysis and their jokes, as well as their 'lived' experiences that are usually ignored in favour of anyone male.

There's still a long way to go for women in many parts of the world to gain even basic rights and recognition and safety. I've realised over the past few years how we must never take our rights and freedoms here for granted. The astonishing rapidity with which they can be rolled back means we must always be vigilant for attempts to undermine our rights as we work towards better conditions and opportunities for women everywhere.

Arhjl it’s Richard Herring. He painstakingly posts “19th of November” to all the disgruntled insecure men who think they’re handing out gotchas.

You just couldn’t give us one day, could you Robin? A whole month of celebration for trans people, but women aren’t even permitted one day. 🙄
