My favourite LOJ takedown has to be Julie Bindel that time. You could just see how much fun she was having. Brilliant.

MaMaLa321 · 03/03/2020 20:03

each to their own listening

SparklingLime · 03/03/2020 20:07

Apparently there is “total chaos” at The Guardian today over Suzanne’s article and the responses.

For anyone willing to support Kath Viner’s decision to publish Suzanne’s article:

You can write your message as a comment on Dr Jane Clare Jones’ webpage and she’ll collate them all and pass to Kath Viner:

janeclarejones.com/about/

I’ve just done it. I’m furious with The Guardian in general over this issue, but I’m happy to support Viner in her decision on this piece.

I have just done so too. I hope she doesn't publish my details though, because I don't want to be hounded by the trans lobby.

BaolFan · 03/03/2020 20:19

PUUUUULLL!

SparklingLime · 03/03/2020 20:37

You can ask Jane Clare Jones to keep your message anonymous if you’d prefer.

I've emailed Ms Viner my appreciation of the article

SparklingLime · 03/03/2020 21:08

Kath Viner’s email to go direct:

“The worker confirmed to HuffPost UK she had handed in her notice a few weeks earlier, but chose to speak out in the busy news meeting on Tuesday over what she called “the straw that alerted the camel to maximum possible publicity"

India Knight has retweeted Suzanne's article with the comment "magnificent".

Didn't know she was GC

I am tempted to say to that worker - you ID as a woman, then that's the shit that women have put up with for decades. We fought for our rights and want to hold onto them.

BaolFan · 03/03/2020 21:29

If India's stuck her head about the parapet, then I wonder if Caitlin Moran might follow suit?

chilling19 · 03/03/2020 21:30

Thanks Suzanne

LettyFisher · 03/03/2020 21:36

Really pleased about this article (which I only saw when India Knight tweeted about it).

Have just been down a twitter wormhole though reading all the thoroughly depressing comments on it. I am faced with the same views at work though - JK Rowling was pretty villified in my office.

India is no friend to women. India like to play the "true trans" card to validate India and India alone.

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 03/03/2020 21:44

Egads, my sincere apologies for previous post.

I mistook India Knight for India Willoughby.

I wish i can remember where i saw it but im sure that alot of the silencing and internal civil war that took down many of the proper Feminist journalists was escalated after Viner took over and it was American V UK mainly ( if you discount that scrote Owen) with some T's controlling the forums.

SparklingLime · 03/03/2020 22:18

I agree, @DresdenChina, but if there is any chance of a shift, then I’m keen to support that.

DresdenChina · 03/03/2020 22:20

Why do women have to fall over themselves to thank someone for doing less than the basic? is it our socialisation? Viner doesnt deserve our grateful appreciation, the silencing for YEARS is on her!

So i hope all those that want to pat her on the back at least point that out, why is Viner doing it now? because like any good hack she has sensed the public turning.

Binterested · 03/03/2020 22:24

Still nothing from Caitlin Moran then. What will she do when all her girl gang have broken cover and she’s still in the ‘cool chick being kind to dudes who look like Bowie’ zone Grin

Binterested · 03/03/2020 22:26

And agree with PP. The Guardian don’t deserve one penny of our money and Kath Viner can go to hell.

DresdenChina · 03/03/2020 22:28

wierd, half my message got cut off, anyway just wanted to add i am really pleased Suzanne is getting work and getting her work out there.

SparklingLime · 03/03/2020 22:36

Why exaggerate, @DresdenChina? I am not ‘falling over myself’, or offering her my ‘grateful appreciation’. I sent an email supporting this particular choice to publish, as she will be getting a lot of backlash. It’s a pragmatic attempt to try to help ensure this is the start of a shift, not a one-off.
