"If you identify as a woman" they'd like you to complete their survey to understand what women watch. twitter.com/Ri_Science/status/1232681119939731458

OP posts:
Gibbonsgibbonsgibbons · 26/02/2020 23:10

Interesting that they deleted their TWAW tweet

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 26/02/2020 23:12

Maybe someone pointed out that by that logic they'd have to admit any girl who identifies as a boy?

WomanBornNotWorn · 26/02/2020 23:15

Absolutely loving the responses to the original tweet - and to the 'we're really sad' whine about those responses.

BritneyPeedOnALadybug · 26/02/2020 23:17

Well too late if they’ve deleted it, there’s a screenshot forever now and I will use it if I have to Smile
If it is all young interns running these accounts it’s funny how they’re so good at social media but not very bright on how the internet works.

definitelygc · 26/02/2020 23:22

A genuine question - if "transwomen are women" then why does everyone keep saying "do you identify as a woman?". Why don't they just say "are you a woman?".

Surely saying "transwomen identify as women" is pretty... I dunno... gender critical...?

BritneyPeedOnALadybug · 26/02/2020 23:31

Had a look. Their policy states they only take in boys assigned male at birth. But if they are putting out public statements that transwomen are women then by logic transboys are boys and as they have an equal opportunities admission process then this must be discrimination, right?

ContessaferJones · 27/02/2020 07:40

Their policy states they only take in boys assigned male at birth.

Just like the way hereditary peerages can only pass down through those assigned male at birth.... Funny how male privilege gets preserved, innit Hmm

Otherwise known as boys.

Durgasarrow · 27/02/2020 08:47

They're sad!!! It gets sciencier by the minute!!!

ErrolTheDragon · 27/02/2020 09:11

Completely OT, and obviously it's a bit of a niche issue but some may be interested to know that one of the proponents of moves to end this particular inequality is Lord Lucas.

DiNATwist · 27/02/2020 09:32

Absolutely horrified by the MGS post. I will be making a formal complaint. New to this so would welcome constructive help on how I can word this. I'm so angry that I'm incoherent 🤬🤬

Aesopfable · 27/02/2020 09:56

Their policy states they only take in boys assigned male at birth.

Does it actually say that?

Aesopfable · 27/02/2020 09:58

Maybe someone pointed out that by that logic they'd have to admit any girl who identifies as a boy?

And expel any boys who identify as girls

Mockersisrightasusual · 27/02/2020 10:01

Does it actually say that?

It actually does:

Para 5.

Aesopfable · 27/02/2020 10:03

🤦‍♀️

Al1Langdownthecleghole · 27/02/2020 10:14

I'm not so sure the public mood has shifted as such and our activist friends are all too aware that the public as a whole are not onside with gender identity. Hence #nodebate.

What had happened is that it has been brought to the attention of people who were not previously aware of the debate and they can see the risks.

RoyalCorgi · 27/02/2020 10:15

No, what it says is, "We only accept applications for children whose sex is identified as male at birth", which is much better. No nonsense about "assigned".

They do, therefore, have a bit of a cheek lecturing people about being "inclusive".

OldCrone · 27/02/2020 10:16

Their policy states they only take in boys assigned male at birth.

Have they just changed it? It now says:

We only accept applications for children whose sex is identified as male at birth.

But if TWAW then transboys are boys.

Mockersisrightasusual · 27/02/2020 10:17

...Yes: "Identified."

Which suggests that newborns lack Gillick competence to Self-ID, but this will come with time?

Aesopfable · 27/02/2020 10:25

Midwives will be issued with hair clips to put in newborn’s hair and then record sex depending on if they remove it.

littlbrowndog · 27/02/2020 10:30

What about bald babies

This is discrimination against bald babies and very exclusive

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 27/02/2020 10:31

You can tell based on whether the infant tries to undo the snaps on their onesie, the mother of a trans child told me so (well, told the media, who told everyone).

DiNATwist · 27/02/2020 10:32

If I create a throw away account on Twitter, repost MGS_Chemistry's deleted post will I get blocked?

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 27/02/2020 10:33

Wait, I was a bald baby. Was I a boy then and a girl when my hair grew in?

What if the baby is bald and the parents do that godawful thing where they glue a bow to its little bald head so everyone knows it's a girl?

(Still shaking my head at that one.)

Aesopfable · 27/02/2020 10:55

*What if the baby is bald and the parents do that godawful thing where they glue a bow to its little bald head so everyone knows it's a girl?

(Still shaking my head at that one.)*

The head shaking is due to you trying to shake the bow off when you were a baby. You are obviously a man.
