Clip from GBM interview this morning.
twitter.com/JammersMinde/status/1229439480064610308
She said "Babies are born without sex"
Unless she said something after to clarify what she meant by this or backtracked then I guess this is her starting point....
Astounding. Labour have lost the plot, and me.

The whole idea that sex is only developed in the womb is a classic bit of trans theory that goes on to hormone washes, intersex, female brain rubbish, all of which is the advanced and modern science that is the reason humans are not binary. It would seem she believes this ridiculous fake science. The previous poster is right, people are being made absolute fools of over this issue. It's all been rolled out here for years to much hilarity but watching politicians making idiots of themselves at the same time as they are demanding this be taught in schools is quite terrible. Enough really is enough.

thecatfromjapan · 17/02/2020 21:50

It's why people talk about 'lady dicks'.

It's all quite strange.

Siameasy · 17/02/2020 21:50

I too was so disappointed in Madeley Ffs is no one going to say that this is utter nonsense?!

tobee · 17/02/2020 21:53

Why isn't this all over the television news?

thecatfromjapan · 17/02/2020 21:53

To be fair, I doubt Madeley is well-versed in all this.

It helps if you have a degree in a Humanities subject and I'm not sure he does.

Also, people are really, really worried about getting it 'wrong' and being labelled bigots.

thecatfromjapan · 17/02/2020 21:54

Well, it's partly the above.

And also, it's so arcane, people don't quite 'get' it.

I'm looking at Twitter - and so many people think she just mixed up 'sex' and 'gender'.

Strangerthantruth · 17/02/2020 21:57

Paul Embery is having a laugh about it. Honestly, the women in politics right now are pathetic.

Bathroom12345 · 17/02/2020 21:59

These twits are being paid by us. Dawn Butler and Diane Abbott are awful awful examples of Labour MP’s who would be fired in industry for their incompetence yet they are voted in time and time again. Just why??

thecatfromjapan · 17/02/2020 21:59

I just want to repeat this, from Tanith:

""How the fuck have we ended up with so many people senior in the Labour Party that are this stupid, just how."

Jeremy Corbyn was severely limited for choice after the Labour shadow cabinet resigned and refused to work with him. This is the result.

And this, incidentally, is what happens when people walk out, resign, etc.. They leave what's left to the tender mercies of those that stayed."

wellbehavedwomen · 17/02/2020 21:59

@tobee Why isn't this all over the television news?

Because those in the media care more about their friends thinking they're bigots, than they do the public knowing what is happening to the rights of 51% of the population.

NeurotrashWarrior · 17/02/2020 22:02

Just. No words.

teawamutu · 17/02/2020 22:02

Have seen people on Twitter saying GMB Union are bastards for not nominating Dawn Butler after she worked for them for so long.

I found it interesting.

tobee · 17/02/2020 22:03

There is no hope. Unless some appalling scandal blows it all apart. Sad

chilling19 · 17/02/2020 22:04

Embarrassing.

tobee · 17/02/2020 22:07

You just someone (a presenter maybe, as opposed to an invited guest) to say "well that's clearly not true!"

Bathroom12345 · 17/02/2020 22:09

Where is Piers Morgan when you need him? He would have picked up on her comment immediately

thecatfromjapan · 17/02/2020 22:11

The thing is, trans ideology is now the 'gatekeeper belief' of liberals and progressives.

If you don't sign up , you are excluded.

Look at what's happening to women, and a handful of men, who say, 'No.'

It's like when a profession of faith in the 39 Articles worked to keep Nat-sayers out of Oxford.

nonsenceagain · 17/02/2020 22:28

Appalling but I still don't think many people care. Will this really relegate Labour to 10+ years out of office? Doubt it. Other crazy policies will, but I don't think most voters care enough about women or girls to be very bothered.

UpfieldHatesWomen · 17/02/2020 22:29

I hope a journalist picks up on this. How can such a stupid statement go unchallenged?! I'm hoping Janice Turner's reading, loved reading her comments about 'soul-seeing' Layla Moron in her last article. Perhaps Layla could be of service in maternity wards to assigning gender to Dr Dawn's sexless babies. They could have their own reality TV show, or at least I hope to fuck reality TV is the direction their careers are heading in and not politics.

tobee · 17/02/2020 22:35

Not sure "reality" tv is quite the right term!

LynnSchmob · 17/02/2020 22:37

I can’t quite believe I’m about to type this but it’s a real shame that Piers Morgan was having a day off.

UpfieldHatesWomen · 17/02/2020 22:41

tobee Yes, I'm thinking more along the lines of Derek Acorah

TalkingtoLangClegintheDark · 17/02/2020 22:49

I didn’t think anything could top what Lisa Nandy said about how she would put male rapists in women’s prisons if that’s what they want.

Then Dawn Butler says babies are born without a sex.

And we are supposed to take these people seriously? We are supposed to entrust the running of our country to them?? How can they have so little awareness of how they come over, never mind all the rest??

StinkyWizleteets · 17/02/2020 22:50

My friend recently lost her unborn baby to a condition only females get. Maybe Butler would like to explain to her about sexless babies...

SirVixofVixHall · 17/02/2020 22:52

I have seen American TRAs on twitter, saying that all embryos start out neuter, and sex then develops in utero. I assume this is based on the fact that male and female embryos look the same early on. Is the US a country rather lacking in its science education ?
I think this is what she has believed.
