This is just so wrong. How can this happen in the 21st century. No oppressed group ever had such power. Just have to dig some more.

"Terf" is often a synonym for "lesbian" specifically one who doesn't do dick.

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 19/01/2020 14:46

Not saying what can and cannot wear at all, just where you're wearing it, ie context is important.
Like what @Karencantobe said

Qcng · 19/01/2020 14:48

This Tshirt wouldn't get anyone kicked out would it.

Datun · 19/01/2020 14:49

So we shouldn't be seeing any trans T shirts that don't also have LGB on them at Pride?

Honestly the hypocrisy is visible from space.

Qcng · 19/01/2020 14:49

"Trans Pride" excludes L G and B.

There's a lot of hypocrisy going on.

Qcng · 19/01/2020 14:50

X post there!

karencantobe · 19/01/2020 14:55

Those TERF t-shirts are not acceptable anywhere.

But I doubt the club would have thrown out a woman wearing a lesbian t shirt. LGB Alliance is a political organisation. Denying that is crazy. And the club management probably had complaints.

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 19/01/2020 14:58

Club that is inclusive of l, g, b, t.
So trans pride T-shirt would be OK.
As a comparison, I assume lesbian pride T-shirt would also be fine.
One that is a T-shirt to a group that actively excludes a group, not fine.
Why is that so hard to understand?

Datun · 19/01/2020 14:58

It's an organisation which advocates for LGB people, and that lesbians should not be expected to have their sexual orientation appropriated by male bodied people.

It's the very crux of homosexuality.

How can that suddenly be news!

How can that suddenly be a political, personal or legal viewpoint that's controversial?

Good God.

titchy · 19/01/2020 14:59

LGB Alliance is a political organisation.

Would they have ejected someone for wearing an SNP or Amnesty t-shirt then?

HandsOffMyRights · 19/01/2020 15:05

To those supporting the bullying of a female from the LGB community, would you find it acceptable if somebody from the transgender community was bullied, ejected and then hounded on Twitter for wearing a
'Trans Rights are Human Rights' T-Shirt?

If not, why not?

There would be an outcry if this happened wouldn't there?

The hypocrisy and bullying culture, especially by males towards females, is breathtaking.

One that is a T-shirt to a group that actively excludes a group

You see I don't see that LGB alliance is excluding per se. It is merely focussing on a smaller group than those Stonewall include. And their explanation as to why they don't include the T is factual, not hateful. Do we hate Stonewall because they focus on LGBTQ+ and not on disabled people? Of course not. It's perfectly reasonable to form a group to advocate for a specific group of people. You don't have to include everyone who might be said to have similar issues. Do the charity Disability Action Awareness eject people from a community meeting because they wear Scope or RNIB t-shirts?

ScrimshawTheSecond · 19/01/2020 15:07

Well, this man wants to make the point that she brought it on herself by dressing like that:

In case anyone was uncertain if this was a misogynist movement, just consider where else we have heard that sentiment expressed?

Aesopfable · 19/01/2020 15:09

Or a Stonewall one?

aliasundercover · 19/01/2020 15:11

Transgender ideology actively excludes lesbians, unless they’re prepared to suck ladydick - in which case they’re not lesbians. A trans pride t shirt is as excluding as a LGB t shirt.

karencantobe · 19/01/2020 15:14

I agree with what people are saying about organisations like Stonewall, but it is faux naivety to sugges that an LBG Alliance t shirt should not be controversial.
It is not like wearing a lesbian t shirt. The LBG Alliance specifically says that sex is more important than gender.

HandsOffMyRights · 19/01/2020 15:14

Scrimshaw spot on.
The "she asked for it" male culture.

Men telling women what to wear and how to behave and then punishing a woman - what a surprise.

aliasundercover · 19/01/2020 15:17

The LBG Alliance specifically says that sex is more important than gender

...and?

HandsOffMyRights · 19/01/2020 15:19

sex is more important than gender.

Smile
karencantobe · 19/01/2020 15:19

@alias which is controversial as you know.

aliasundercover · 19/01/2020 15:22

Trans ideology says that gender is more important than sex. Is that controversial?

The difference, of course, is that only one of them is true.

titchy · 19/01/2020 15:28

Given that LGBTQ+ also includes those with sexual development disorders (despite them not particularly wanting inclusion) I'm not entirely sure the movement as a whole does regard sex is irrelevant. Also given that most G won't accept T as sexual partners again I don't think you can claim the movement is entirely gender focussed.

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 19/01/2020 15:31

Clearly I'm thick but please someone tell me why the t shirt carried a hateful or provocative slogan?

Qcng · 19/01/2020 15:38

tellmewhen
It didn't.
That's why there's no clearer message that this whole movement is fucked up.
There's something really really bad, misogynistic and hateful happening, that's for sure, but it isn't coming from L G or B people.
