I understand shes doing an MN webchat on the 20th

littlbrowndog · 17/01/2020 10:59

Oooooooooo is she. Awesome 😎

SonicVersusGynaephobia · 17/01/2020 11:01

I understand shes doing an MN webchat on the 20th

Excellent. Bet MNHQ don't allow us to ask any questions or respond to her insultingly shite answers, as per usual.

PegasusReturns · 17/01/2020 11:03

I understand shes doing an MN webchat on the 20th

So what?! She won’t answer anything related to gender criticism.

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 17/01/2020 11:04

I'll be very impressed if she does the chat on here.

Especially if she actually listens to the concerns women can air on an anonymous forum which we can't air IRL for fear of abuse or being penalised at work.

Floisme · 17/01/2020 11:05

I hope I am proved wrong but all I can see coming out of that webchat is suspensions.

RuffleCrow · 17/01/2020 11:06

"I mentally 'cancelled' Phillips".

Ick, that's what males do to women they don't like. They literally cancel us at the rate of 2-3 a week in the UK alone. Jess knows that better than anyone.

Sadly, nowadays she's more concerned with scraping together a few desperate votes than with standing up for herself and women as a class. Shame, as she would have been my second choice after Starmer. Not any more. Sad

Callmejudith · 17/01/2020 11:17

Can someone remind me please what the panel/meeting/hearing was where Jess Phillips and other MPs were questioning the lady from Women's Aid and Rape Crises and there was a transwoman there who had been found to have been looking at unsuitable websites on the way to the meeting?

I remember watching clips of it and thinking Jess Phillips was definitely GC. Seems she has turned.

RooKangaroo · 17/01/2020 11:19

Unless in her MN chat she completely u-turns on that interview/article and gives a very good reason for doing so (can't say I can think of one that would be good enough though), I'm just not interested in hearing what she has to say.

Who on earth do we vote for? I am so so angry with all of them and the whole L Party right now.

ThePurported · 17/01/2020 11:19

...in a cosy chat with Juno "a lot of gay men are gay men as a consolation prize because they couldn't be women" Dawson. How very progressive.

Beamur · 17/01/2020 11:26

Good that she is doing a chat.
Let's think of some smart questions. Avoid the usual which get filtered out anyway and be specific about issues pertinent to women's health, safety, etc.

GlomOfNit · 17/01/2020 11:35

Incidentally, those of you considering joining or rejoining the Labour Party or an affiliated union in order to have a say in the leadership election might want to remember that Jan 20th, when JP is giving a MN webchat, is the closing date for joining the party in order to vote. Just putting it up there.

LangCleg · 17/01/2020 11:35

Dear goddess, what an embarrassment.

TirisfalPumpkin · 17/01/2020 11:47

Wish a pp hadn’t jumped the gun with the GC question.

We are only allowed to raise an issue once and HQ will delete/ban posters who keep asking the same question. Just feel it could have been specifically worded (ie with a real life example of one of the obvious self ID problems) to present weaselly noncommittal answers or ‘special difficult cases’.

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 17/01/2020 11:49

a MN webchat, is the closing date for joining the party in order to vote Well, that IS interesting.

I am an ex member - left after Lily Madigan became women's officer and then felt justified after the policies to take away my rights to single sex spaces became clear.

I'd rejoin if there was a strong voice who'd support my right to have a smear done by a female HCP if that's what I requested.

AbsintheFriends · 17/01/2020 11:59

To quote Juno Dawson from the interview:

questions are fine, concerns are prejudiced

Wow.

I couldn't read on after that. So, women are allowed to ask questions about having men in their spaces, but they have to accept the patronising platitudes about 'kindness' they're given in reply. Fear or PTSD reactions due to past assault/abuse by men are bigoted.

Right. Got it.

littlbrowndog · 17/01/2020 12:06

I wonder if Phillips would be up to answering questions on why 13 elected. MSPS aer to afraid to be named when they attend a meeting on GRA reform

And why women meeting to disc uss women’s rights have to keep location secret in fear of violence against them

ScrimshawTheSecond · 17/01/2020 12:17

questions are fine, concerns are prejudiced

That's a really strange thing to say, isn't it? Women are allowed to be ignorant and ask questions. They are not allowed to have an opinion on the answers, is the only way I can read that.

Which rule of misogyny is that one, again?

Beamur · 17/01/2020 12:22

How about, given the need for all children at school to be safe (stats about the shocking levels of assaults, etc) how would you ensure that facilitates meet the needs of all? Inc GNC and religious requirements for single sex.
Similar with PHSE - given the furore in Birmingham recently, would you support more guidance from Govt to schools in this area and be willing to listen to the concerns from parents regarding certain topics.

ThePurported · 17/01/2020 12:28

Yup, it's prejudiced to have concerns about women's rights, but questions are ok - I guess we're supposed to ask men?
Dawson scolded her for retweeting WPUK, ffs.

I look forward to Jess announcing Jess's pronouns. The suspense is killing me!

ScrimshawTheSecond · 17/01/2020 12:33
  1. Women’s opinions are violence against men, thus male violence against women is justified.
Callmejudith · 17/01/2020 12:39

Thanks thepurported

Mummyoflittledragon · 17/01/2020 12:45

Ffs I didn’t realise she was chasing the pink vote. After her speeches in parliament,I really thought she of all people could tell the difference.

Lookingforpizza · 17/01/2020 12:47

MNHQ have already asked people to stop posting any gender identity/sex questions on the Web chat thread. So any smart questions devised now most likely will be removed.
