Dr Adrian Harrop's revenge porn bullying

Even by Harrop's standards this is particularly despicable.

A couple of TRAs engaged in a twitter discussion saying that Caroline Farrow looks like a man (because saying a transwoman looks like a man when they do is a hate crime but saying a woman does when they don't is banter). And this led to a conversation that there are compromising photos of Farrow.

Harrop then joined the discussion, implying that he has seen these photos and will send them to anyone who asks via direct message. This is in breach of revenge porn legislation and the ethics of being a doctor.

Farrow called the police last night over this harassment - but Harrop seems to have got worse and has tweeted that he's tracking her menstrual cycle

If anyone needs to log off, it's Gemma.

BoreOfWhabylon · 14/01/2020 16:42

Is that RG's real address there?

Wildthyme · 14/01/2020 16:46

No.

Duh!!! Grin

Justhadathought · 14/01/2020 16:51

Harrop's practice is one that is based up by the university. In fact it's the main university practice. My daughter is registered as a patient there.

GeordieTerf · 14/01/2020 16:57

I kind of can’t wait to see Ricky’s response to this... Grin

NotTerfNorCis · 14/01/2020 21:05

The doctor is fighting back...

deeply satisfying to have gathered sufficient evidence to entirely discredit some rather vicious rumours that’d been circulating about me over the last 24 hours.

quite a remarkable coincidence underpinning it all I must say, but it’s delightful to have the matter resolved. 😎👍🏼

this was a highly serious accusation of criminal activity, involving: the mishandling of confidential patient data; the production of fraudulent documents; & the misuse of government-funded healthcare resources. all needed to be dealt with rather swiftly given the circumstances.

the most surprising thing is how quickly these rumours — no matter how poorly evidenced or unsubstantiated — just seem to snowball.

these people are so obsessive, hateful and malevolent, and seem to actively seek out any means by which they can cause significant harm to others.

the photoshopping part was the easiest thing to see, just from zooming in on the image.

the more challenging / interesting question was: where did the original image come from?

in short- it’s quite remarkable what can be found through even the quickest of searches on google. 🙄

Melroses · 14/01/2020 21:10
Hmm
NotTerfNorCis · 14/01/2020 21:17

Is the 'quite remarkable coincidence' that the fake prescriptions attacking his enemies just happened to be from the surgery where he happens to work. A truly amazing coincidence!

BoreOfWhabylon · 14/01/2020 21:19

the more challenging / interesting question was: where did the original image come from?

Well yes, Adrian. That is indeed the question.

Somerville · 14/01/2020 21:23

A random person, with no link to the doctor, Googled “prescription” and came up with an image of one from the surgery at which he works? What a remarkable coincidence indeed.

Somerville · 14/01/2020 21:25

This saga becomes murkier and murkier at every, erm... remarkable turn.

Michelleoftheresistance · 14/01/2020 21:28

Interesting to see the scolding about people who 'actively seek out opportunities' yada yada yada, considering Caro's experience.

Yes, what an amazing coincidence. Let's hope they track down the originator of the practice's prescription, because yes, I agree with him, that's pretty serious.

Feminazgul · 14/01/2020 22:07

Wow, he actually went with that Grin

popehilarious · 14/01/2020 22:11

People saying 'it's been reported to the practice' - do you mean properly reported or just @-ed them on twitter?

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 14/01/2020 22:14

do you mean properly reported or just @-ed them on twitter?

They were @-ed but have replied that they are aware.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 14/01/2020 22:17

Can't say he's not brazen. Again, I know doctors are in short supply at the moment but it still seems odd that any practice would want one who attracts quite so much negative attention.

GirlDownUnder · 14/01/2020 22:18

The practice has responded to the tweet - OP updated earlier to say...

@jadefinch Tue 14-Jan-20 14:01:31
“The practice that Harrop works at has tweeted that they've been made aware of the allegations - apparently another fake prescription for Ricky Gervais has also emerged.
Here's their tweet if anyone wants to add anything about Harrop that they might not know about
twitter.com/brownlowhealth/status/1217019642499256320”

I’ve added a screenshot for those who don’t want to go to twitter

I don’t suppose they’ll talk publicly about this, it’ll be an internal investigation / matter.

Quite.

Yet Ade has twatted that the "matter is resolved"

Riiiiiiiiight.

Melroses · 14/01/2020 23:39

I expect it won't be the only quite remarkable coincidence - they seem to be attracted to him.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 15/01/2020 07:52

So, is he saying that it has now all gone away and he had all the evidence to hand to prove it wasn't him? How handy!

Well, we knew that it wasn't him! It was 'Gemma'. The point was that, as is often the case, he was at the centre of it. His employer, his colleague... his sphere of influence!

How much longer will his boyish charm(??!!) enable him to continue with his godawful shite!

FannyCann · 15/01/2020 08:06

Just like Macavity - he's never found at the scene of the crime. Except Macavity doesn't leave a trail of evidence....And humans don't have nine lives.

With nearly every other medical professional I've known, the first thought would be 'poor chap/chapess, s/he's obviously been set up'. But with this one, a person's first thought is - 'he's really lost the plot this time and got careless'. So a first reaction is to think it is highly plausible that he is behind it. That says a great deal about the individual concerned and their perceived character and standing.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 15/01/2020 08:29

Absolutely!!
