Dr Adrian Harrop's revenge porn bullying

Even by Harrop's standards this is particularly despicable.

A couple of TRAs engaged in a twitter discussion saying that Caroline Farrow looks like a man (because saying a transwoman looks like a man when they do is a hate crime but saying a woman does when they don't is banter). And this led to a conversation that there are compromising photos of Farrow.

Harrop then joined the discussion, implying that he has seen these photos and will send them to anyone who asks via direct message. This is in breach of revenge porn legislation and the ethics of being a doctor.

Farrow called the police last night over this harassment - but Harrop seems to have got worse and has tweeted that he's tracking her menstrual cycle

I do so hope the photo of Caroline is of something hilariously normal like her having sent a mate a photo of herself in a new frock in her bedroom asking if it shows too much boob (and it does show too much boob) or something and the porn-obsessed TRAs get all overexcited at the poor standard of the Caroline "porn".

I agree Doyoumind the cognitive dissonance is astounding. On the bright side plenty of people that are not commenting are observing it and forming their own opinions.

Remember the very interesting statement last year from the Royal College of General Practitioners, where they commented on the poor evidence base for trans medicine?

Well it would appear from LinkedIn that Dr Harrop is now in an influential position within that group.

How could they take him on when his social media record is appalling? La Scapigliata on Twitter often said there is a serious problem with misogyny in the medical profession and it appears that men can do anything and still gain access to the circles of power.

I saw this yesterday. Caroline has been outspoken about her traditional views, and I'm sure most people here wouldn't be on the same page as Caroline regarding a lot of things, but she doesn't deserve the treatment she's getting. She's attracted a group of stalkers who, although they're adults, are behaving like vindictive teenagers. Unfortunately Caroline does tend to react and that does encourage them. I'm amazed that an actual medical doctor is involved. The rest are all no-marks with nothing to lose.

I have reported it to the police, the GMC are aware, and the whole thing is staggering. If he genuinely thinks I am mental then joshing about exchanging explicit images of me, is horribly sadistic.

I like to think I'm fairly thick-skinned but his petty, shitty, extremely misogynistic tweets are disgusting. Anyone want to join me in complaining to the Royal College of General Practitioners? There is no way as a LGBT medic I'd want him to be seen as representing my community in any way.

I simply do not understand how people in these roles can either believe this behaviour to be professional, or to think they don't need to be professional. Stinks of entitlement.

Caroline, what's happening to you is appalling. It seems like you are being stalked, obsessively followed and subjected to misogynistic bullying. The suggestion that they have access to pictures of you in your bedroom? Just appalling. Good on you for reporting it to the police.

It reflects extremely badly on the GMC. Do they think this behaviour reflects well on their profession?

I've also noticed the MNers who always pop up on other women threads to tell us off for being mean when we question the impact of the activities of some trans people on women and girls safety, never, EVER condemn or object to real, actual damaging behaviour like this.

I'm sure they are very busy as we speak giving these people a lesson in how to be more kind and gentle and that they should be ashamed of themselves for engaging in such unbecoming behaviour and attitudes.

They will be along shortly with screenshots of these exchanges to prove what good citizens they are ... Visiting all these places around the internet to inform and correct people of their wayward ways......

Caro, I am so sorry you are being bullied in this way. I'm incredibly shocked that this is being allowed to continue and nothing is being done about it, either by the police or the GMC. Are the police logging it as a hate incident or is that too much to hope for?

Doyou whilst still women's threads the other place they'll often pop along to are threads where they can
tell us that whilst most violent crime and sexual assaults are indeed carried it by men that NAMALT and we are being utterly ridiculous to change our behaviours and routines because they've never had to. Or sometimes they say if we did this maybe we wouldn't there become a victim. It switches depending on the topic but the general advice is: Women - We stop getting yourselves raped and attacked.

The energy they invest in these threads being deliberately goady is remarkable yet when a thread like this happens ... tumbleweed.

Caro, I guess there's a strong possibility that this photo he's talking about could be deepfaked (if that's the right term) - so your image manipulated into a completely random (and potentially offensive) setting. That's something I'd definitely want the police to be checking out.

Caroline, I admire your resilience and am totally disgusted at the lack of support you've had from the police. If they still don't act on this, I really think it is time to organise some mass protest, because that would be active discrimination against women.

It's strikes me that Caroline is being targeted not just because of her GC views but also because of her religious views.

If you feel able Caroline, report this as a hate crime (ironic in light of Harry's JR) but it might force the police to do something.
