Dr Adrian Harrop's revenge porn bullying

jadefinch · 13/01/2020 08:43

Even by Harrop's standards this is particularly despicable.

A couple of TRAs engaged in a twitter discussion saying that Caroline Farrow looks like a man (because saying a transwoman looks like a man when they do is a hate crime but saying a woman does when they don't is banter). And this led to a conversation that there are compromising photos of Farrow.

Harrop then joined the discussion, implying that he has seen these photos and will send them to anyone who asks via direct message. This is in breach of revenge porn legislation and the ethics of being a doctor.

Farrow called the police last night over this harassment - but Harrop seems to have got worse and has tweeted that he's tracking her menstrual cycle

Those wanting a bit more background about the good doctor may be interested to know he has finally earned his very own thread in a certain farming forum. 🥝

Ooohh this is good news. Smile

More worrying behaviour from Harrop or one of his "friends" (related to glinner rather than Caroline this time):

"Hi @gmcuk

This Tweet contains a photograph of what appears to be a genuine FP10 prescription:

Archived at t.co/tfH5jC5VdM

A fake prescription created from one from Harrop's workplace...

jadefinch · 14/01/2020 08:23

Looks like Harrop has accessed Linehan's medical records and posted them online

Why is he teflon? He should have been chucked off the medical register ages ago.

BoxedWine · 14/01/2020 08:25

I saw that and wondered what the hell is going on re Glinner.

BoreOfWhabylon · 14/01/2020 08:33

No, this doesn't mean someone hasnaccessed Graham's records. Someone has taken a genuine prescription from the practice that Harrop works for and either issued it in Graham's name or altered/photoshopped an image to look that way.

Wow. What kind of person does this?

I just looked at the picture - it's with the fucking practice address and codes on it....

A professional organisation in a position of trust dragged into a year seven level mean girls bullying session on Twitter? The practice manager and every person working in that place should be up in arms this morning, that's appalling! Not to mention the practice should be reported to the local NHS trust this morning, with screenshots. Please tell me someone has this covered?

BovaryX · 14/01/2020 08:49

FGS, are there no employment standards in medicine? If that's been circulated to his employers, the GMC AND the police and there's no response then that needs forwarding straight to one of the big national dailies

Michelle Absolutely agree. This behaviour is astonishing. Why aren't any relevant authorities taking action? This needs reporting in a national newspaper. The Daily Mail should take a look

RoyalCorgi · 14/01/2020 08:50

As well as the prescription stuff, which is appalling, the other awful thing Harrop has done is give details of a consultation with a patient:

archive.li/Mcq1f

He doesn't identify the patient, but it seems incredibly unprofessional nonetheless.

Michelleoftheresistance · 14/01/2020 08:55

Done some following of links above: thanks for sharing those. Looks like this HAS been reported to both the practice and the GMC.

That poor practice manager this morning. Flowers Time wasted having to pick up the pieces of a mess made by thoroughly unpleasant individuals apparently totally without sense or basic moral compass. Who found it funny . I wouldn't excuse this in children, although I'd at least understand it. In adults.... words fail.

LangCleg · 14/01/2020 09:06

It has a prescription number and can thus be traced.

This is nuts.

WeBuiltCisCityOnSexistRoles · 14/01/2020 09:07

I'm banned from Twitter Angry but saw the archive and couldn't believe that (although actually I can, sadly).

This is so far over the line it might finally force the GMC to take action - I imagine the surgery would be furious about this? How on earth can this be brushed under the carpet like everything else?

ThinEndoftheWedge · 14/01/2020 09:08

I would love to be a fly on the wall when the Dr who ‘signed ’ the prescription has a word...

I expect the Dr could independently now log a complaint too...??

JungeTraktoristin · 14/01/2020 09:23

In fairness to him (not that he deserves it), I think that anecdote is a fictional/composite account of a common consultation scenario rather than a specific patient, which is a pretty standard trope for writing about medical practice.

Michelleoftheresistance · 14/01/2020 09:24

Quite. His professionality has been tarnished by being unwittingly involved in this 'prank'. Impersonating him, using his professional information, bringing him personally into disrepute and damaging trust with his patients....

I sincerely hope he involves the police.

This is interesting.

WeBuiltCisCityOnSexistRoles · 14/01/2020 09:32

A fraudulent prescription can be a prescription form which:
has been forged or counterfeited
has been amended by changing quantities/dosages
has been collected by an individual pretending to be someone else in order to obtain their prescription
has been written for a 'ghost' patient
has been obtained through multiple registration at GP practices using false IDs to obtain several prescription forms
has not been signed by an authorised prescriber

GeordieTerf · 14/01/2020 09:37

I just looked at the “prescription”, and I think it’s a photoshop?

Feminazgul · 14/01/2020 09:41

I'm sure it's just a massive coincidence that a prescription from the practice Harrop works for has been used in this way in a twitter convo Harrop is involved in. Move along, nothing to see here...

WeBuiltCisCityOnSexistRoles · 14/01/2020 09:50

Even if it is a photoshop it is still classed as a fraudulent prescription, I believe and can be reported as such.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 14/01/2020 09:51

I just looked at the “prescription”, and I think it’s a photoshop? That makes little difference, tbh.

It identifies a real GP, in a real practice. One that a certain Dr Harrop also works at.

If I were that GP, that PM, a partner in that practice I'd be looking at Dr Harrop's contract and wondering how to terminate it!

Melroses · 14/01/2020 09:52

It has a prescription number and can thus be traced.

This is nuts.

If you wanted to make a joke prescription to put online, this is all totally unnecessary - it could have been a joke doctor, like the joke address of the patient on a green background Confused
