That's it really! I just realised it's almost exactly a year since my teen told me he was trans. He seems to have changed his mind now, but who knows how things would have turned out without the advice and support I got here.

Came for help, stayed for the amazing knowledge and the laughs! Hope you all have some fun tomorrow, maybe I'll get to meet some of you in London on Feb 1st!

Merry Christmas!!!
My 20 something Godchild who wanted to be referred to as She/Her for the last 4 years has just announced that they are They/ Their from now on.
From TW to Non- Binary in four years. Another name change and set of pronouns to remember and a gender neutral version of their original first name. Most importantly they have done a 360 on hormones and surgery. It’s a Christmas miracle.
So a very Happy Christmas in our family.

I wish peace of mind for your godchild.

Happy Christmas all. My daily dose of sanity, clarity and humour.

Thanks so much FWR.

Merry Christmas to all of you wonderful women.

(Seriously...when I thought I couldn't manage a single day more of the ROGD madness and fell apart at the seams, you were the people who stuck me back together and encouraged me to get my own therapeutic support...and because of that, this year is ending for me in an immensely less self-destructive place...I know women here do 'big' things for other women and women's rights, but please know that the small things you say here make a huge difference as well. My favourite thing of 2019 is you.)

That's such good news. Happy for you and them!

RubyViolet · 24/12/2019 19:55

Thanks Arran, we wish the same. They have some mental health problems which started at Uni, it’s been a journey. If the mental health services in the NHS and University had been able to give assistance l think we wouldn’t be in this situation.
We are taking the positives that they are not thinking of drastic surgery at the moment.
Thanks to this board and the amazing, knowledgeable women our whole family has found some understanding and sign posts to hope.
Cheers to everyone !

Merry Christmas to all 12 of us Xmas Grin.

Here's to a better year for women in 2020!

T0tallyFuckedUpFamily · 24/12/2019 20:00

That’s fantastic news RubyViolet. It sounds like non-binary might be the way that he can get back to being a healthy young person, without loosing face. Once this fad is over, you’ll find ‘they/them’ will also get dropped and you’ll get your heathy young nephew back.

Merry Christmas you bunch of ‘un nice’ Truly Educational Reality Feminists. You all make the world a safer, better place. 🍷 Now excuse me, I’ve something in my eye.

Hi everyone,

Just created a new account to wish everyone a happy Christmas. I've messaged MNHQ in the hope that they will allow me to rejoin, but since I was banned despite a membership of over 20 years, and not a single warning, strike, or suspension, I'm not hopeful I won't be instabanned again [sigh].

I've had a shite year, which could have been helped enormously by support from mn (support that I have given willingly to lots of people, especially parents of teenagers, since around 2004, but is seemingly value-less). But I'm hopeful 2020 will be better.

In Ireland, where I am, the wokeness is scary. As the complete lack of reality of statistics. I keep seeing how well self ID is working in Ireland - of course it is, when there are no stats kept of transition (because TWAW), no stats of assaults by males, because now they are female assaults, no stats of women losing spaces, because they aren't losing spaces, they are being joined by other "women" etc etc etc. Family pressure prevents me speaking out publicly, leaving me frustrated and furious much of the time.

Anyway thanks to all who have made my last 18 months of lurking interesting, and to all those who confirm I'm neither mad nor a raging bigot for seeing reality.

Happy Christmas and all the best for 2020

ArranUpsideDown · 24/12/2019 22:47

Nonetheless, it's so good to see you again no matter how briefly (tho' I hope it's for longer).
