Liverpool Women's hospital no longer has female toilets

I just read this on twitter - the Women's hospital in Liverpool has removed all female toilets and changed them to gender neutral toilets. All the men's toilets have remained the same.

This has been confirmed by hospital staff.

For. Fuck's. Sake.

RubyViolet · 22/12/2019 14:30

So offensive. Why do they need to do this in a Women’s Hospital. When at our most vulnerable we deserve the respect that Women’s only spaces were designed for. We fought for this !

NumbersStation · 22/12/2019 14:32

‘Sake.

This world has gone bastard mad.

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 22/12/2019 14:33

I am recovering from flu, so my brain is slower than I'd like, sorry that this is laborious but would appreciate help in understanding in single syllables or less. You know what I mean.
Sex is biological.
Gender is identity.
Yes?
So they are saying, for anyone with medical needs, they will be on the ward suitable for their sex and for toileting, anything goes.

But isn't the Liverpool women's all about... women? Maternity, gynaecology, babies. Right?

How many men - how many - why did they need to do this?

In fact surely, they should have been one of the institutions standing up and saying, we won't do this?

My head hurts.

MarianaMoatedGrange · 22/12/2019 14:37

Retweeted.

I wonder if this thread will be deleted like the last one today concerning this type of issue.......

Greenkit · 22/12/2019 14:39

Why can't they make mens toilets gender neural and leave woman's toilets as they are?

HandsOffMyRights · 22/12/2019 14:40

There's a couple of female penis prioritisers all over the threads at the moment trying to derail.
They have little self respect and certainly none for other females.

Devereux1 · 22/12/2019 14:42

Why can't they make mens toilets gender neural and leave woman's toilets as they are?

Why don't they make toilets just for people who like to pretend they are the opposite sex?

Greenkit · 22/12/2019 14:44

In work we have single cubicles with it own sink, so a toilet room.

Everyone uses these, that's fine.

NumbersStation · 22/12/2019 14:48

@MarianaMoatedGrange Wink

I think I would go into the male toilet and ask the person in the next cubicle if he had a spare sock I could wank into. In the spirit of fitting in and all.

Why should their space be sacred?

I despair.

Budge up women, be nice, share, be kind, stop being so selfish.

MEN, as you were.

I actually fucking hate the world right now.

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 22/12/2019 15:05

I just don't understand how it is not sex discrimination to have twice the toilets for men as for women.

BernardBlacksWineIceLolly · 22/12/2019 15:06

It’s just so self evidently unfair

Men get something but women can’t have it Sad

theflushedzebra · 22/12/2019 15:09

I just don't understand how it is not sex discrimination to have twice the toilets for men as for women.

I think it must be - but I imagine they think they'll get away it because women are less likely to bring legal action?

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 22/12/2019 15:11

It feels like the misogynists in positions of power flexing their muscles, deliberately reminding us we are subordinate by treating us with blatant, visible unfairness.

FannyCann · 22/12/2019 15:13

Why would they have male patients in a women's hospital?
I am wondering if this refers to visitor loos or staff loos (obviously female visitors/staff should be catered for).
It's a women's hospital. Surely on the wards or in the outpatient areas patient loos are for women?
We need a breakdown of loo provision on the wards/outpatient areas / staff and visitors.
I can see they might want to accommodate trans men with the occasional gender neutral loo but surely numbers would be low and not justify making the change across the hospital.

Stevienickssleeves · 22/12/2019 15:16

I wonder if they completed a risk assessment. Wouldn't it be interesting to see it?

Oncewasblueandyellowtwo · 22/12/2019 15:20

People on this board have been talking about this for ages, that men are getting twice the choice and women have none.
But in a maternity and womens hospital?
This is not a drill, it's a war on women.

Justhadathought · 22/12/2019 15:20

Liverpool Councillors seem to be v young, woke, inexperienced idiots like Harry Doyle that push this stuff through. They call themselves feminists, but go around calling women 'terfs.' They won't listen to any dissenting voices

Yes, Liverpool council chamber is dominated by the Labour group - and that group now includes lots of young Corbyn/Momentum supporters.
I was actually in the chamber when Liverpool Resisters were invited to speak, ahead of a vote on gender neutral toilets being the norm in all council owned buildings going forwards.....The motion was brought primarily, by a very young, gay councillor - Harry Doyle; but also by the super -woke Lib Dem leader ( on this issue) Richard Kemp.

Joe Anderson is always yelling abuse at someone or other - but yes, it was a huge shock when he directed this venom towards, us, sat there - and even more of a shock when the whole chamber rose to applaud ( yet you could see the lack of ease and discomfort of many at doing so). It was an appalling affront to democracy. Not one of those councillors had consulted their constituents on this change.

The worst one, for me, was councillor Anne O 'Byrne ( who is always promoting her credibility and suitability for office on the basis of her being a working class WOMAN), who simply walked out of the chamber, refusing even to listen to the invited speaker. She was a disgrace!

'Manly men' Everyone else (including manly men who fancy a visit to the women's)

How the fuck is this progressive?

NaturalBornWoman · 22/12/2019 15:24

There wouldn't be any male patients, and visitors shouldn't be using the patient's loos. Having said that it's still an outrage if they've made the women's visitor's or staff loos gender neutral and not the men's.

mumwon · 22/12/2019 15:27

forget everything else - women need more loos per person not less - if they want to make women's loos gender neutral than they need to increase number - I would suggest they build extra loos & make all of them gender neutral
