Spoilt votes - post them here so that the parties/papers can see them

I know there is a split of opinion about spoiling ballots vs voting for the least bad option.

If you do decide to spoil your ballot it feel free to post a photo of it here (be careful not to include any information that identifies you and in particular not to include the ballot's unique identification number) in case any of our loitering journalists wish to pick up the story or in the hope of giving the parties/candidates some pause for thought.

In case it is of interest (and you want a place to post your views for/against spoiling ballots), there have been a number of threads about spoiling ballots, a few links below:

Apparently there are alot of spoilt ballot papers. Grin

@ShesDressedInBlackAgain , mine too. A solid Labour seat. Also a solid Leave seat.

HandsOffMyRights · 12/12/2019 23:22

Quite Mrs Grin

Uncompromisingwoman · 12/12/2019 23:24

Oooh - Owen Jones and Ash Sarkar on ITV at the moment. He's not wearing that t shirt I see.

BeyondVotesForFlube · 12/12/2019 23:24

My solid labour (though apparently this time it was close), solid leave seat has high 80's % chance to retain.

ShesDressedInBlackAgain · 12/12/2019 23:26

Almost worth staying up for...

GCAcademic · 12/12/2019 23:33

Oooh - Owen Jones and Ash Sarkar on ITV at the moment. He's not wearing that t shirt I see.

Is he blaming women for not sucking enough dicks?

NickelADimeCandy · 12/12/2019 23:33

Both presumably looking as sick as a sea going psittacus.

But seriously it is people like them who are to blame for Labour being trounced.

ShesDressedInBlackAgain · 12/12/2019 23:39

I turned over and now I am having to listen to Sal Brinton. Angry

Tartyflette · 12/12/2019 23:39

Sounds like it, thetoddler !
There were two hustings held in the last week or two, for one of them she literally 'phoned it in '!
And she has a very poor reputation on replying to constituents' letters. You could never say that about SirA.

thetoddleratemyhomework · 12/12/2019 23:48

@Tartyflette

My old MP was Sir F - maybe not the same?! Maybe there are multiple Tory MPs phoning it in!!

ThePurported · 12/12/2019 23:48

What would have had more weight was taking all the passion and pride you feel and channeling it into activism. Like all the activist women who fought long and hard to fight for the right to have what you have refused to exercise.

Oh dear Grin
I have a feeling you're not quite up to date on this stuff?
Google Maya Forstater for one example of what happens when women speak up on these issues.

colouringinpro · 12/12/2019 23:49

Waste. Of. Votes.

GCAcademic · 12/12/2019 23:50

Heard. It. Already.

EverardDigby · 12/12/2019 23:50

Blyth Valley had one women don't have penises paper, with a vote for the GP candidate.

OccasionalKite · 12/12/2019 23:52

I spoiled my vote because I could not, with any conscience, vote for any of the parties, seeing as they are all in favour of Gender Self-Id, regardless of actual sex.

Whereas I am very concerned for the consequences for women and girls, because of our physical bodies not any "identity" or "feeling".

Gender Self-ID inevitably means that women lose women's sex-based rights. NO to that.

The two Independents in our constituency were, frankly, people even more to the right of the Tories. So No.

Yes, thought long and deep about this. Spoiling my ballot was the only reasonable position, for me.

Justhadathought · 12/12/2019 23:54

...apparently Nigel Farrage spoiled his......

Justhadathought · 12/12/2019 23:57

Blyth Valley - hopefully all those spoilt votes have been carefully scrutinised grin

Kate Hoey made an interesting observation: that the Tory party has never before represented such constituencies ( only now doing so as a result of the Brexit vote in Blyth), and that it might well have to change the way it does its politics to reflect that.

GCAcademic · 12/12/2019 23:58

...apparently Nigel Farrage spoiled his......

What, there was no Brexit Party candidate for him to vote for? Whose fault was that?

NickelADimeCandy · 13/12/2019 00:05

Blyth Valley - hopefully all those spoilt votes have been carefully scrutinised

With a majority of 712, they may well have been although it depends how many there were. If only a few dozen, they cannot make any difference. If there were 100s they will have been looked at.

Tartyflette · 13/12/2019 00:08

thetoddler thinking about it our current MP is definitely not local, she was born in Wimbledon and raised abroad before returning to the UK aged 16. We're in north Essex.

Melroses · 13/12/2019 00:54

...apparently Nigel Farrage spoiled his...…

There was a lot of Brexit Party stickering going on where there were not candidates, but yes, he could have stood and voted for himself Grin

ShagMeRiggins · 13/12/2019 00:55

Tartyflette not to freak you out but I was looking at your MPs wiki page just an hour ago! Was in your area getting a salon treatment this week and the owner was saying she was going to spoil her ballot because though she’s a natural Tory she would never vote for that candidate, somewhat for reasons you gave.

OccasionalKite · 13/12/2019 01:13

My thanks to everyone else on this thread who spoiled their ballot paper,

We may all have had different reasons.
Me - because the rights of women and girls are ...
