I know there's lot of mention of this on other threads but I just want to say Anna, if you're here (I feel like you must be), bravo! Your questions were great and you spoke so smoothly. No hesitation or umms and arrs.

My heart was beating out of my chest just asking some gentle questions at some transgender training at work recently so I guess I'm not difficult to impress but still. Good job Flowers

I can see from the Twitter link above that the snippet (and you got 7 minutes!) is now up to 167k viewers. I've watched it twice Blush You're certainly a star in my household. Flowers

You're all very kind, it was nothing that hasn't been said before by lots of great people. Just glad that the debate is being given sunlight and we can start to have rational discussions.

Can't say I'm not fearful of repercussions but I appreciate all the positive comments x

Newuser123123 · 13/12/2019 15:32

Ps I can't listen to it back - I tried and thought I was garbling nonsense 😂

Dangerfloof · 13/12/2019 15:32

Hi Anna
I think if we could all worship you for getting your questions in and legible, not wavering etc etc.

Ah sod it, I shall prostrate myself at the altar of anna.

Thanks so much.

Newuser123123 · 13/12/2019 15:34

😂😂😂 My husband and friends think this is hilarious and I'm going to become (even more) unsufferable!

AppleJane · 13/12/2019 15:37

I was watching Sky news early this morning when JS lost her seat. I laughed my womanly tits off!

RuffleCrow · 13/12/2019 17:31

I'd also be even more insufferable if i'd helped chang the course of political history! I don't think that's hyperbole btw

Newuser123123 · 13/12/2019 18:26

*insufferable

koshkat · 13/12/2019 18:28

You are bloody brilliant. THANK YOU!

StrangeLookingParasite · 13/12/2019 18:41

You were brilliant, thank you so much.

Michelleoftheresistance · 13/12/2019 19:18

Thank you Anna Flowers You did an amazing job of getting Swinson to lay out exactly how empty this all is.

StillWeRise · 13/12/2019 19:23

fantastic job well done
is Anna your real name- when you mention repercussions do you mean from friends/family or employers?
I mean Warwickshire is quite big, there must be a lot of Anna's !

LangCleg · 13/12/2019 19:27

Yes, I thought I was texting in one question but it escalated!

You were amazing.

refusetobeasheep · 13/12/2019 19:39

Thank you Anna from me too! Great, clear questions.

theflushedzebra · 13/12/2019 19:51

Anna, you were seriously impressive.

And I say that as someone who has spoken on 5Live before - on a non-political, non-contentious issue - and found my heart racing, my mouth dry, and my mind kept going blank! It was awful - I swore I'd never speak on the radio again after that!

Very well done Wine

Newuser123123 · 13/12/2019 19:52

Yes - I do know lots of Annas in Warwickshire and I don't have a public profile at all so hopefully will be fine. I chose my words carefully and tried to be polite.

I'm not on twitter but I've read the comments and most are positive. There are also tonnes of people asking the same questions. Makes me wonder if the Maya Forstater and Harry the owl cases would come about today?

Newuser123123 · 13/12/2019 19:55

@theflushedzebra the most impressive thing (to anyone who knows me) was that I kept my cool even though I hadn't had breakfast! was busy getting my youngest ready /tidying the house etc etc. Good job Paw Patrol lasted the duration of the call 😂

Thelnebriati · 13/12/2019 19:55

I loved the contrast between your question and the answer. You sounded more like a politician than Jo did.

GaraMedouar · 13/12/2019 19:56

Well done Anna Flowers - it was excruciating listening to it - Jo stuttering, my goodness, I had thought of voting Lib Dem but no way after that!

GCAcademic · 13/12/2019 20:18

Completely. Anna sounded logical and measured, Jo sounded like a loon.

BovaryX · 13/12/2019 20:21

Anna, your calm rational questions highlighted the incoherence of Swinson’s position. Great job and thank you!

StandUpStraight · 13/12/2019 20:38

You were brilliant. I thoroughly enjoyed it. And I think you were probably a big part of the reason that The Times went with the leading article they did on Tuesday. (I think it was Tuesday...it’s been a long week.) It was exactly what this debate needed - calm, collected member of the public calls in with completely straightforward questions that utterly expose not only the holes in the Lib Dem position, but also the massive gulf between the views of 90% of the population and the completely detached bubble-dwelling politician. It absolutely made my day, in an angry-victorious kind of way. 🙂

kulaexchange · 13/12/2019 21:18

Yes - well done Anna. You really were amazing. DP had just about decided he'd vote Lib Dem. I played the clip to him as we were leaving to go to the poll. He had a good laugh before declaring he wouldn't be voting for them.
