And Yaniv hasn't even got a neovagina. He's intact.

BertrandRussell · 04/12/2019 18:57

I do worry (genuinely) about Jazz Jennings. Her surgery seemed to have so many complications, and she has deferred Harvard. I hope she’s OK. I have a child the same age as her.

Silencedwitness · 04/12/2019 19:14

@BertrandRussell I think about Jazz a lot especially after she wrote that poem. I wonder if she’ll ever feel that maybe she should’ve waited and been allowed to develop naturally.

Bogrod · 04/12/2019 20:24

Jazz has been totally failed by his parents 😢

SarahTancredi · 04/12/2019 20:24

What poem?

I hope they make it back to Harvard next time

FilthyBiscuit · 04/12/2019 20:44

Jazz has been very quiet of late. What was the poem?

Siameasy · 04/12/2019 21:37

I worry about Jazz too and do not think it will end well

As for neo vaginas there was a thread on reddit with some pictures. None of them looked convincing. If you rocked up at a gynae with that is the gynae allowed to ask questions about it, since a person’s trans status is meant to be top secret?

Silencedwitness · 04/12/2019 21:45

Jazz seems so young to have undergone such a life changing surgery. And I think being in the spotlight fuelled her pressing forward and going as far as she has.

Yaniv's at it again
Kilbranan · 04/12/2019 21:45

I would agree a general surgeon would be better placed or possibly a urologist, depending on what type of post op complications there were having. There is no role for a gynaecologist in someone who doesn’t have female biology. (Gastroenterologists are ‘medical’ rather than ‘surgical’ so probably wouldn’t get involved)
And clearly someone like JY who has entirely male biology/genitalia has no reason to see a gynaecologist!

Kilbranan · 04/12/2019 21:46

Gosh just saw the poem by jazz Sad
Poor thing, I hope they are ok

Creepster · 04/12/2019 22:17

Here in the US on a radio talk show this past August: "Just heard this on Bill Handle's Legal Advice Show that a caller said he was Gender X on his driver's license and now wants a PAP Smear and the doctor won't do it.

Does he have a legal right to female Gender F medical treatments even if he's really Gender M, but reports Gender X on a state approved legal document?

Can a Gender X qualify as an angry white guy, assuming that he really is white, that is? "

SonicVersusGynaephobia · 05/12/2019 07:07

I wonder what the sex and ethnicity of the receptionist and/or gynaecologist is.

FilthyBiscuit · 05/12/2019 09:10

I saw this this morning Grin

Gosh that poem by Jazz is really worrying.

That poor, poor child. Sad So angry that that beautiful kid has been helped into this situation by adults who were supposed to protect them, steered by a tv company. Very concerned that this is where the effects of not going through puberty on brain/emotional maturity end up becoming apparent.

KettlePolly · 05/12/2019 10:18

Just shows once more the lengths men will go to to get someone to touch their penis.

BertrandRussell · 05/12/2019 10:22

“ Just shows once more the lengths men will go to to get someone to touch their penis.”
And to make money.

CranberriesChoccy · 05/12/2019 10:49

@FilthyBiscuit

"I saw this this morning"

Please tell me that was irony/sarcasm. 😂😂😂😂😂

Ereshkigal · 05/12/2019 10:50

Gosh that poem by Jazz is really worrying.

It is. I think many of the more vulnerable young people who identify as trans are one step away from those kind of feelings. I had a fairly long running, open and honest correspondence with such a young person a couple of years ago. I don't think it's kindness to lie to them.

CranberriesChoccy · 05/12/2019 12:00

I would agree a general surgeon would be better placed or possibly a urologist, depending on what type of post op complications there were having. There is no role for a gynaecologist in someone who doesn’t have female biology.

I would have thought urologist as well being a more appropriate type of doctor. The ignorance, although not entirely suprising, from trans women about female anatomy is astounding. Can't recall if it was here or another forum where one of them said a woman who's had a hysterectomy is the same as a transwoman who's had the procedure that makes a penis into a pocket-type lady part. Confused

Soubriquet · 05/12/2019 12:01

Is this Jarvis DuPont Male or female?

Going by the name I’m saying Male. How on earth can he write about the plight of women without using real women as an example. It’s disgusting

BertrandRussell · 05/12/2019 12:02

I don’t think Jarvis du Pont was being entirely serious....

EmpressLesbianInChair · 05/12/2019 12:03

I thought Jarvis DuPont was being very satirical?

Soubriquet · 05/12/2019 12:03

I hope not!

It certainly reads as serious and not satire

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 05/12/2019 12:12

Transwomen who have undergone GRS may present with vaginal discharge, dyspareunia, a ‘short’ vagina, vaginal hair, voiding difficulties or a lack of lubrication.

And what would a gynecologist know about how to deal with any of these issues in that scenario? It's not like "how to deal with hairballs inside the vagina " is something they'd have learned about in medical school, because internal vagina hair is not a thing unless the "vagina" used to be something else entirely.
