Considering that Hillary is indelibly linked to NAFTA, which decimated working class jobs in the Rust Belt, and considering that several Rust Belt states experienced millions of illegal foreclosures, for which the Obama administration provided no legal relief, and considering that Obama presided over the greatest transfer of wealth in American history from the working and middle classes to the wealthy, including the complete rollback of African-American wealth to pre-1965 levels —
It’s no real surprise voters didn’t have a lot of enthusiasm for a campaign that explicitly promised more of the same.
In a two-party system, voters can only kick out the politicians they have, not the ones they don’t have.
Besides, in US history, it’s practically axiomatic that after 8 years of 1 party in the WH, voters turn to the other party.
If Hillary had run a better campaign, she might have won, it was that close. But she was badly advised by Robbie Mook, the same guy who advised Theresa May.
