Wow. That really says a great deal about the people who are targeting her

As I remember, the Facebook pages of her in-laws were forensically trawled for targeting fodder.

BovaryX · 30/11/2019 14:48

Hmm. Her opponents seem to spend a lot of time trawling through cyber space to silence women. How very progressive

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 30/11/2019 14:50

I think "that woman whose appearance I keep criticizing should stop criticizing the appearances of transwomen" is my favorite part of this thread so far.

BickerinBrattle · 30/11/2019 14:53

YY, Kittens

weirdchocolates · 30/11/2019 14:58

If I remember correctly She questioned whether that Tory Mp who grabbed the protester by the throat had committed an assault. She generally sounds like Brendon oNeil. She is awful

I dont mind alliances on specific issues with conservatives, but actual fascists is a different matter.

Datun · 30/11/2019 15:00

I've never heard of that, weird. But I'd still be interested to know what that's got to do with the definition of woman and the safeguarding of children?

BabyItsAWildWorld · 30/11/2019 15:02

What I love about Posie is that she doesn't actually give a fuck if you like her, she's not trying to be nice, she doesn't care about nice, she cares about speaking the truth as she sees it.

That's quite rare in women. we are very easily cowed into being agreeable and responsible for others feelings, it's hard to break away from. And women who do break away from it get knocked down hard, as this thread shows, for stepping out.
Sadly often by other women.

I love it whenever I see disagreeable women saying what they want and not giving a toss. whether I agree with what they are saying or not.
It makes me a little bit braver myself.

BovaryX · 30/11/2019 15:03

She questioned whether that Tory Mp who grabbed the protester by the throat had committed an assault

Can you provide a credible link to that incident? I haven’t heard of it

BickerinBrattle · 30/11/2019 15:08

What is your definition of “alliance”, chocolates?

One thing I really dislike about contemporary politics is the very loose way with words that have actual meaning.

NATO allies, for instance, have pledged mutual assistance in the event one of them is attacked.

To whom, exactly, has Posie pledged mutual aid? With whom, exactly, has she marched arm-in-arm with? Or even campaigned for?

As for fascists, what do you mean? Do you mean totalitarians who promote strict adherence to sex-based stereotypes, wield the police to crush free speech, and march in the streets brandishing, say, baseball bats and axes against a selected oppressed group?

Because if so, I have some news for you....

@SapphosRock
Anyone who makes a video with a misogynistic white supremacist is no friend to women and children

Well said, that was my first thought on "for women" in the title too - how, exactly for women when giving revenue/clicks by appearing on what seems to be a majorly misogynist white supremacist channel?
He's seemingly majorly against womens rights, but hey they take the same stance on trans issues so that's OK?
Just..... no.

BovaryX · 30/11/2019 15:14

Bingo! Nail on the head!

FleetsumNJetsum · 30/11/2019 15:22

When I first heard Posie I thought "you shouldn't talk like that"

That was years ago, I've learned a lot, and now I think we all need to be brave and speak the truth like Posie does

nauticant · 30/11/2019 15:25

actual fascists

There is a splendid irony to read this while listening to a radio programme about the battle of Stalingrad.

twitter.com/languesbians/status/1142060204068167681

This is what came up when i searched on google but i saw on her fb originally. As you can see Its not a good look to claim about caring about women but then to say a man grabbing a woman by the throat is not violent, and to give credibility to white supremacists which is what i meant by fascists

BovaryX · 30/11/2019 15:29

Many of the people who toss this word around demonstrate a profound historical illiteracy. Operation Barbarossa? Not a clue. But they will happily call Conservatives ‘actual fascists’

testing987654321 · 30/11/2019 15:30

I hope people realise that Louis Theroux's documentary about the Westboro Baptist Church was directly responsible for new members joining. So you even mentioning how awful this person Posie spoke to has probably increased his clicks. You are not friends of women for promoting him, you should be ashamed of yourselves.

BovaryX · 30/11/2019 15:31

weird

I ask again. Can you post a credible link to the ‘Tory MP grabbing a protester by the neck’ incident? Mainstream media please

nauticant · 30/11/2019 15:31

What does "promoting" mean in your usage? Probably not the one from the dictionary so could you clarify?

BickerinBrattle · 30/11/2019 15:37

And how influential is Fred Phelps and Westbrook in the US?

You do realise, don’t you, that it’s a country of 350 million people?

The US has a LOT of loonies and always has.

The Trump election has unfortunately convinced observers that his rise is due to these loonies.

It was not. In a handful of Rust Belt states, in a handful of their counties, voters who had turned out for Obama in 2008 and 2012 did not turn out for Hillary, and there are a number of reasons for that, none of which involve Westboro.

Actual fascism in the US, such that it is, is located in US imperialism, which is currently supported by both major parties.

Identity politics serves to obscure that fact.

BickerinBrattle · 30/11/2019 15:38

Westbrook = Westboro

Datun · 30/11/2019 15:39

Good Lord. Is everyone a child.

Posie goes all over the world to stop children being mutilated. She is relentlessly targeted, threatened, doxxed, censored, her children have been put at risk, her family, She has been harassed continuously.

But she disagrees over the definition of the word violence, and that's fascism??

It's pathetic. Absolutely pathetic.

weirdchocolates · 30/11/2019 15:40

I was refering to the white supremacist she appeared with as a fascist, not conservatives

FloralBunting · 30/11/2019 15:41

I've got you all beat. I have blue hair. Bet if you met me you would think I was an enthusiastic TWAWer.

BovaryX · 30/11/2019 15:41

Great post Bickerin. The fact that Obama voters switched to Trump in 2016 is an inconvenient truth that many can’t grasp.
