I noticed it and decided to keep it anyway, honestly!

I’m sick of this shit (down) on social media!

TheTinselrati · 03/12/2019 14:30

Feminist academics are brilliant & all, but we aren't going to get the results we want relying on feminist academics alone.

SapphosRock · 03/12/2019 14:35

we aren't going to get the results we want relying on feminist academics alone.

The results 'we' want should surely not be to the detriment of women.

'We' should care about the women PP attacks - Muslim women, women of colour and women who need abortions - even if 'we' are not feminists.

theflushedzebra · 03/12/2019 14:37

But what happens when the feminist academics state unequivocally that the Posie Parkers are not helping at all and pushing the conversation backwards?

Not much, I would imagine.

Grin

But it was a fascinating thing! Watching the vitriol towards posie by feminist academics for approaching Sarah MacBride - someone who is reportedly instrumental in a law change recognising gender identity instead of biological sex.

The very thing the feminist academics are fighting against - and there's posie, confronting one of the very people trying to get it passed - possibly while that person was in the very act of one of these backroom meetings we hear so much about - trying to get this legislation through on the quiet without too much public scrutiny.

And they were more angry with posie than with MacBride! Why - because posie wasn't polite enough? Or didn't deliver her message in essay form? You couldn't make it up!

Anyway, posie was with Dr Julia Long - a feminist academic. So NAFAALT Grin

theflushedzebra · 03/12/2019 14:38

Stop telling lies, Sapphos. Posie has not attacked any of those groups of women.

Datun · 03/12/2019 14:38

Give it up Sappho. Seriously, it's now looking a little odd. And very, very personal.

Posie has occasionally wondered whether or not her meteoric success engenders jealousy. Perhaps it does.

Ereshkigal · 03/12/2019 14:41

They can believe what they want. I strongly disagree that is the case. It doesn't change my respect for them, it's just a different viewpoint.

Indeed. How about them apples? Grin

Amused that your autocorrect didn't kick in Grin

SapphosRock · 03/12/2019 14:45

Give it up Sappho. Seriously

Agree with the regulars or sit down and shut up.

Datun · 03/12/2019 14:48

Actually, I meant stop being so personal about Posie, but camouflaging it in vilifying views that she doesn't hold.

You spent the whole thread ascribing motives to her which have been refuted, over and over. But don't have much, if anything, to say about her actual activism. I don't recognise any kind of feminism in that.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 03/12/2019 14:49

I feel like some sort of intervention is needed at this point honestly. Who obsessed over a stranger that way?

theflushedzebra · 03/12/2019 14:51

It's coming across as spiteful and vengeful now. Definitely personal.

Butterisbest · 03/12/2019 14:52

Day one hundred and twenty four, here, in the Mumsnet house Sappho is still trying to convince a group of posters that Posie Parker is a very mean and bad woman.
Has to be read in the distinctive accent.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 03/12/2019 14:52

Did Posie steal Sappho's chips? Cut her off at the roundabout?

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 03/12/2019 14:52

At least we're not in the jungle. I don't do well with insects.

SapphosRock · 03/12/2019 14:52

Her actual activism? Just another Katie Hopkins

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 03/12/2019 14:56

VERY MEAN BAD WOMAN, WHO STEALS PEOPLE'S CHIPS AND DOESN'T EVEN OFFER THEM SOME OF HER FISH IN RETURN

theflushedzebra · 03/12/2019 14:58

Last ditch attempt Sapphos?

Compare her to a really horrible woman, and hope it sticks?

Butterisbest · 03/12/2019 14:58

Posie Parker is brilliant. Yay go Posie⭐️👍👍🎉🎉🍾🍾

littlbrowndog · 03/12/2019 14:58
