Sorry you’re all too quick for me!

My Above comment was Responding to this:

No she hasn't "paired" with anyone. She is Standing For Women - she's a one-woman-band.

Littlelamp456 · 03/12/2019 11:21

Accused of" - means nothing.

It wasn’t accused of though, she did tweet that ‘transmen should be sterilised’ word for word.

theflushedzebra · 03/12/2019 11:22

as she tweeted: ’Women who think they're men should be sterilised’

She's explained this - a tweet taken out of context. Her point was "why would women who identify as men want to have babies, one of the most womanly thing someone can do - since only females can do this" - she wasn't calling for forced sterilisation - much as it delights her detractors to say she was.

LangCleg · 03/12/2019 11:23

Awww, Sappho wants an A for the homework!

It's all been asked and answered, love. You've kept us here for thirty pages doing it, FFS.

It's really fairly simple for me: no GC woman under a bus. Even the ones I don't like (and as I said previously - you don't know which ones I don't like). Even the ones who fall out with each other. Even the ones who vote Conservative. Even the ones who dye their blonde. Even the ones who don't like the ones I do like. Even the ones who try my soul with their snotty classism.

Eyes on the prize.

theflushedzebra · 03/12/2019 11:25

According to respected GC feminist Julie Bindel she is motivated by: Narcissism Bigotry Ego And is Causing harm

I respect Julie a lot, but I don't agree with her here, and I'm quite surprised to see her saying that posie is motivated by "bigotry" - when Julie is well used to be called a bigot herself, by TRAs.

BovaryX · 03/12/2019 11:26

really, please stop with the forced teaming

It’s interesting, isn’t it? The dreary obsession with labels, the deliberate mischaracterisation of everyone else’s position and the increasingly explicit authoritarian desire to control the narrative and dictate the parameters of the debate.....

2BthatUnnoticed · 03/12/2019 11:30
  • White supremacy
  • Mens’ Rights Activism
  • Hatred of women
  • You see, I see these not from PP but from white TRAs, continually [MN: not trans people generally] - racism and misogyny off the scale.

I’m not necessarily the biggest supporter of PP. But for some people to try and force-team and shame women into “denouncing” her is transparent and pathetic.

theflushedzebra · 03/12/2019 11:31

Respected GC philosopher Kathleen Stock states she is: A liability Setting back a productive conversation

Kathleen is entitled to her opinion - but Sarah McBride was the transwoman who posie and Julia confronted. McBride is instrumental in bringing about legislation in the USA that will erase women and girls rights. McBride needed confronting.

BovaryX · 03/12/2019 11:31

Even the ones who fall out with each other. Even the ones who vote Conservative. Even the ones who dye their blonde. Even the ones who don't like the ones I do like....

Well said Lang! And I think that the fact irrespective of other differences, this unites us is driving certain people nuts. A lot of this thread has been a deliberate attempt to pit women against each other. The posters persistently doing this are not critical in any way. And certainly not gender critical....

nolongersurprised · 03/12/2019 11:31

With 900 pages of nonsense I thought a recap would be useful for any lurkers still unsure which 'team' they are on.

I’m lurking. I love Posie. I don’t agree with her about every single thing but I think she’s both brave and necessary.

If I were to come out in public as she has done, I’m sure there are aspects of my beliefs and experiences that you could also make green checks of. Many women are put off speaking out because of the kind of criticisms levelled against Posie - her politics are wrong, her feminism is wrong - no wait, she isn’t a feminist so that’s wrong too, she’s a SAHM, her hair is wrong, she’s too angry, she’s too insecure etc.

And yet, she persists in advocating for women and children and I applaud her for it.

theflushedzebra · 03/12/2019 11:33

You see, I see these not from PP but from white TRAs, continually [MN: not trans people generally] - racism and misogyny off the scale.

Too right. There's a poster called Fox on another thread (I have no idea whether it's the real-life Fox or not) using race to argue that males should be allowed to compete in women's sports - right now.

Butterisbest · 03/12/2019 11:45

That's a very interesting character assassination there SapphoRocks but there's one noted Feminist academic that really disapproves of Posie that you haven't mentioned.
I asked you way back if you and littlelamp were some of the women that Posie has had disagreements with.
You didn't answer then and I don't suppose you will answer now.
You've now convinced me that whatever Posie is doing, she's doing it right. She's rattling cages. So I'll continue to support her.

SapphosRock · 03/12/2019 11:47

LangCleg

Eyes on the prize

How many women need to come under attack to win that 'prize'? Are the rights of Muslim women or those who've had abortions not important?

BovaryX · 03/12/2019 11:50

Nope Sapphos. You don’t get to speak for nor colonize that demographic whilst promoting a battering ram through sex segregated spaces.....

LangCleg · 03/12/2019 11:54

Oh give it up, Sappho. You're losing hearts and minds, not winning them. Do some self reflection. It might help.

In other news: my question about the Denton report has been deleted from the Philip Lee webchat. Colour me shocked. I've asked for it to be reinstated.

SapphosRock · 03/12/2019 11:54

Eh? BovaryX you're making no sense

2BthatUnnoticed · 03/12/2019 11:55

Yes you seem to have overlooked the no 1 critic - interesting

if you personally feel attacked by PP, then say so

If you know of Muslim women, or abortion having had women, who feel personally attacked by PP then say so

Kinda feels like you will use any random group to discredit PP - without actually caring a toss about that random group

BovaryX · 03/12/2019 12:01

Sapphos, your entire contribution to this thread has been a protracted ad hominem attack against PP, combined with a deliberate attempt to incite conflict between SAHM, feminists and any women who agree with P. It hasn’t worked. But it has shone a light on your bait and switch tactics and your penchant for personal insults. 900 messages and you still haven’t been able to address the existential threat to freedom of speech and freedom of thought highlighted by Maya and Harry’s cases...

Littlelamp456 · 03/12/2019 12:05

I asked you way back if you and littlelamp were some of the women that Posie has had disagreements with.

Are you that naive that you think the only people who could possibly have a problem with PP are those who have had disagreements with her?

You’ve been in the bubble too long my dear, try stepping outside.

theflushedzebra · 03/12/2019 12:08

Looking at the views and comments on Posie's Triggernometry video, it's not people who like posie who are in a bubble.

2BthatUnnoticed · 03/12/2019 12:11

I thought those posts sounded “c*s ally-ish” but perhaps it’s not a stranger in the house [not sure if that translates]. It is coming across as a bit personal.

SapphosRock · 03/12/2019 12:12

I asked you way back if you and littlelamp were some of the women that Posie has had disagreements with.

I'll take that as a huge compliment! I'm not but they are marvellous women.

Butterisbest · 03/12/2019 12:13

Littlelamp
Patronising much?
Buttons pushed there.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 03/12/2019 12:22

It is coming across as a bit personal.

More than a bit. Posie and Lisa Muggeridge always attract obsessive people, for which they have my deepest sympathies.

Butterisbest · 03/12/2019 12:23

It wasn't meant as a compliment my dear
