Posie and Lisa Muggeridge always attract obsessive people, for which they have my deepest sympathies.

And that they can't stand each other but you're prepared to stick up for both of them - something some on this thread are desperate to prevent anyone noticing.

ShesDressedInBlackAgain · 03/12/2019 12:30

I love posie. I think she's brilliant. I don't care about your silly tick emoji and I'm not clear why you think it's persuasive, it's not.

2BthatUnnoticed · 03/12/2019 12:31

sapphos I don’t think anyone thought you were one of the women in your screen shots. Unless you think all women PP has argued with are “marvellous” across the board? Curious. But signing off now.

SapphosRock · 03/12/2019 12:31

Butterisbest so you like PP but not the organisers of WPUK, Julie Bindel, Kathleen Stock and Jean Hatchett. Speaks volumes!

Littlelamp456 · 03/12/2019 12:34

I’ve said several times, but just in case anyone needs reminding.

I agree with (lots of) PP’s message, the content of it with regards to TWANW.

What I don’t agree with is her as a person, what she’s done, who she chooses to do things with, the ways she takes it way further than just women’s/children’s rights.

If I was a TRA who wanted to discredit The whole GC movement as being run by bigots, PP would be the perfect person to place front and centre.

Yes I do take it personally actually. I find people that are willing to ignore the damage done by those who seek to oppress minority and other women further, are not good people.

As I said way back, I genuinely believe a lot of you don’t particularly like or agree with her either, you just wont call any of it out because she’s ‘one of us’. I’m not that sort of person, unfortunately. I can’t ignore these things, maybe because it does feel personal.

theflushedzebra · 03/12/2019 12:37

If I was a TRA who wanted to discredit The whole GC movement as being run by bigots, PP would be the perfect person to place front and centre.

Well why aren't they placing her front and centre then? They do everything they can to deplatform her.

clitherow · 03/12/2019 12:38

Oh please let them be, our two anti-Posie urban guerillas.

I am being constrained through a combination of health concerns and shame to clean black mould of upvc windows. When I get fed up (about every 2.5 mins) I rush to the computer to see if they have posted. It's a kind of sad entertainment - a bit like Sooty and Sweep do Nightmare on Elm Street.

Then I have to drag myself back to the shame and tedium of my black mould as I wonder to myself if Posie ever has to clean black mould off her windows. I'll probably never know.

2BthatUnnoticed · 03/12/2019 12:39

How ridiculous

It’s not either/or, and it’s not about “liking” people. It’s not high school!

I respect and support Bindel, Hatchet, Stock, WPUK, Muggeridge and Parker.

I don’t GAF if one or more of them are feuding. If I disagree with something they say I will say so. But I’m not denouncing anyone, especially not in response to personal, unpersuasive arguments!

SapphosRock · 03/12/2019 12:40

I genuinely believe a lot of you don’t particularly like or agree with her either, you just wont call any of it out because she’s ‘one of us’.

Yep. The sycophancy towards someone so vile is really quite sickening.

theflushedzebra · 03/12/2019 12:40

When I get fed up (about every 2.5 mins)

Ha! me too Grin - not black mould - I'm on deep cleaning kitchen kitchen duty like any good scary 1950s housewife should be

RufusthebewiIderedreindeer · 03/12/2019 12:40

I thought a recap would be useful for any lurkers still unsure which 'team' they are on

Im not on a team...and i wont be forced into a team by some random on the internet

Datun · 03/12/2019 12:40

Sappho, everything you have reiterated has already been addressed. All of it.

It's just tedious repetition.

I'm forced to conclude that it's posie's completely unapologetic stance that riles people. She won't conform. She might have an opinion that isn't feminist.

But as a previous poster notes, if we were all suddenly under public scrutiny, there would be zillions of things that would tarnish us in the eyes of others.

But you've got nothing. She disapproves of hijabs on children, I don't know about her feelings on abortion, but many people are ambivalent. She was hosted by English Heritage, because they were the only one who gave a venue. But that's the extent of her involvement, as far as I know. Her comment about transmen being sterilised was explosive, precisely because it does show up that you can't live as a man if you're not one. And it was an exasperated comment after she had been goaded beyond endurance about how awful it is to be pregnant and have to identify as male. She has since explained.

This is pathetic. She doesn't believe in forced sterilisation of course!

She's an appealing, gobby, fearless, woman.

She's not an academic, she's not a lifelong, coal face feminist.

But it's interesting how no one will actually address the content of her activism. Because, how can you not agree with it?

So either you want her to stop and so you have to go to the ad hominem, or you think she damages the cause.

She clearly doesn't damage the cause.

Transactivists everywhere try to shut this woman up. That's all you need to know about what she is doing for the cause.

And now, thanks to all the attempted censorship, so do over 300,000 other people, and every lurker on this long and informative thread.

Datun · 03/12/2019 12:41

Just adding that dissing Posie once, looks like an opinion. Dissing her over and over, looks like fear.

Datun · 03/12/2019 12:43

If I was a TRA who wanted to discredit The whole GC movement as being run by bigots, PP would be the perfect person to place front and centre.

So why don't they??

They shut her down absolutely everywhere.

2BthatUnnoticed · 03/12/2019 12:43

Sorry if I missed it upthread but did the dissenters identify as “c*s” women [sic] anywhere upthread?

theflushedzebra · 03/12/2019 12:43

Do we have to pick a team now? I always hated that part of PE Sad

I also like and respect all those women in Sapphos's 'pick a team' post. I won't be forced to choose between them. Bollocks to that.

LangCleg · 03/12/2019 12:46

I'm sitting in a midden, fucking about on here because I'm pretending I'm not on a deadline, the #notmynigel is doing 12 hour days in his work's busiest period, and I think Posie The Scary Housewife should come and do all the housework neither of us has done. It'll be fine: I have special Anti-Posie earplugs and sunglasses, so she won't be able to hypnotise me with her Subliminal Far Right Rhetoric as she pretends to talk about women's rights and child protection.

Datun · 03/12/2019 12:47

I also like and respect all those women in Sapphos's 'pick a team' post.

So do I. And I support them utterly.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 03/12/2019 12:49

It was 2 people doing this last time too, and 2 people on the threads where Lisa Muggeridge was repeatedly attacked in the most creepy personal ways. Probably not the same 2 people but the pattern is odd.

It's the pages and pages and days and days of I don't like her she's terrible everyone shun her that's so odd. The people doing it seem blissfully unaware of how odd it looks to onlookers.

Ereshkigal · 03/12/2019 12:51

I also like and respect all those women in Sapphos's 'pick a team' post. I won't be forced to choose between them. Bollocks to that.

Same here. I've met and talked with Posie several times. She's not "vile", she's an ordinary woman with concerns who sometimes says unwise things in haste, as do we all, but genuinely cares about women's and children's rights and speaks truth to power like few others, often at personal cost. She's inspiring.

clitherow · 03/12/2019 12:53

Don't talk to me about the kitchen! Do environmental health have any jurisdiction in domestic dwellings?

I need a scary housewife to tackle the cooker. I'm not sure I've got the bottle.

theflushedzebra · 03/12/2019 12:56

The pre-Christmas kitchen deep clean in the zebra household is.... not going well. I keep being distracted....

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 03/12/2019 12:57

I love Julie Bindel, but I think she's wrong about this. I could go into detail about why I think she's wrong and even which specific relationships I think are muddling her thinking a bit on this issue, but I won't, because I will not hand anyone a stick to beat another woman with, and it's abundantly clear at this point that there are many who will use any weapon they can find to shut women up.

The attempts to get us to Mean Girls one prominent GC woman in favor of another are pathetic and speak very poorly of the people making them.

Butterisbest · 03/12/2019 12:58

@SapphosRock

so you like PP but not the organisers of WPUK, Julie Bindel, Kathleen Stock and Jean Hatchett Speaks volumes!

So you're reduced to lying now, speaks volumes about you and your tactics.

ShesDressedInBlackAgain · 03/12/2019 13:00

I wonder if I had a high profile how long it would be before someone got me to pop my foot in my mouth. Probably about five tweets I reckon.

And I wouldn't even have left the world that wonderful wonderful video clip of little Adrain's eyes swivelling round his head as he realises he's been a. Had and b. Owned. Grin
