Clearly its even worse if that woman is pretty.

I know, right? What is that ornament doing even having an opinion???

Datun · 02/12/2019 15:20

You wouldn't know my radical feminism, it goes to a different school.

🤣🤣🤣

Oh tinsel!

Littlelamp456 · 02/12/2019 15:26

Do you think Posie appeals to the average woman who isn’t the typical GC woman?

The one who knows TWANW but who doesn’t want to be seen as offensive or bigoted, do you think knowing PP thinks like that too, makes them feel less bigoted?

For example, I know TWANW, will I say that to my boss if she announces a new TW will be joining the woman’s netball team? Of course not, because she may think I’m a bigot and I’d be worried id lose my job.

So what we really need, is people who show that it’s not bigotry, it’s concern, it’s biology, it’s reason, we can still respect TW without accepting they can change sex.

I don’t think we will achieve that by being open to links with white supremacists, anti abortionists, conservative Christians, making videos slaying people’s eyebrows, making comments about mass sterilisation and fatal reactions, critiquing Islam etc etc

It just seems illogical.

The people that need convincing are the people who are too ‘nice’ to say it or act on it or support it. PP does not appeal to those women (in my opinion)

BernardBlacksWineIceLolly · 02/12/2019 15:30

So what we really need

I don’t think we will achieve that

again, who's this 'we'?

Backinthecloset123 · 02/12/2019 15:32

It just seems illogical.

No, what is illogical is not understanding that the interview has been viewed 314 thousand times with thousands of supportive comments. (none of which seem to support white supremacists, anti abortionists, conservative Christians, making videos slaying people’s eyebrows, making comments about mass sterilisation and fatal reactions, critiquing Islam etc etc).

People who actually want change for the good of women, rather than just score points and sneer between themselves on forums.

nauticant · 02/12/2019 15:32

Look at what we're being told.

We must decide what is the relevant box into which Posie Parker is to go. An important deciding factor is how she presents. Once she's in the box, we then know how we are supposed to interact with her, and in fact whether we are permitted to interact with her at all.

Now, in the discussion between GC people and those are believe in gender identity, which side does that fit best?

BernardBlacksWineIceLolly · 02/12/2019 15:34

People who actually want change for the good of women, rather than just score points and sneer between themselves on forums

ah, now the mask's slipping! good oh

BernardBlacksWineIceLolly · 02/12/2019 15:34

if everyone here is so sneery and awful Littlelamp456, why are you here trying to tell them what to think?

Littlelamp456 · 02/12/2019 15:36

There is no mask and this constant referencing to one just shows how much you have been wrapped in cotton wool on a forum of those in absolute agreement.

If your idea of activism is to preach to the choir and belittle anyone who doesn’t think the same as you, you’re going the right way to achieve absolutely nothing.

BovaryX · 02/12/2019 15:37

Now, in the discussion between GC people and those are believe in gender identity, which side does that fit best?

Bingo.

BernardBlacksWineIceLolly · 02/12/2019 15:38

If your idea of activism is to preach to the choir

well it certainly isn't Posie's idea of activism, hence her driving you absolutely nuts by talking to people you disapprove of

so remind me, is preaching to people other than the choir OK or not?

Littlelamp456 · 02/12/2019 15:40

So on a thread about Posie Parker and how amazing she is, it is completely unacceptable to comment on Posie Parker or give opinions on her Unless you agree she’s fantastic? Is that right?

Am I committing a thought crime?
This seems awfully familiar.

Butterisbest · 02/12/2019 15:41

@Littlelamp456
So you're prepared to lie publicly about your views on gender. You don't believe that TWAW so you'll lie about that too.
Posie tells her truth and I suspect that's why you are so anti Posie, she's doing what you are unwilling or unable to do.
I also don't think she's ever killed anyone's eyebrows on film,

Strangerthantruth · 02/12/2019 15:44

This thread is ridiculous.

The one who knows TWANW but who doesn’t want to be seen as offensive or bigoted, do you think knowing PP thinks like that too, makes them feel less bigoted?

It is not bigoted. Posie or no Posie, it is not bigoted. It is what the vast majority of people on the planet know to be a fact of life. They don't "feel" bigoted. I laughed the first time I saw people on twitter saying it was bigoted. Its funny and ridiculous to tell people that they are a bigot for not pretending a man is a woman. its not worth the time of day.

It is not offensive either. Facts of life are not offensive. Some people get upset because they want to believe they are a woman but no one has the right to not be offended. No-one should be losing their job over this. That's why Maya will be winning her tribunal.

The people that need convincing are the people who are too ‘nice’ to say it or act on it or support it

No one needs convincing. If they are hiding behind niceness they can stay there, enough people are already over the line, the spectators can carry on spectating. And you can carry on with this pointless thread.

Joisanofthedales · 02/12/2019 15:46

Interesting you brought up thought crime. I wonder who keeps reporting so called hate crimes to the police? On whose behalf do the police check for thought crimes? Transwomen or GC women?
Gosh so difficult to decide. I'll ask PC Gul for help

Datun · 02/12/2019 15:47

If your idea of activism is to preach to the choir and belittle anyone who doesn’t think the same as you, you’re going the right way to achieve absolutely nothing

So now Posie is preaching to the choir? I thought she was talking to your average woman who would be massively put off by her bluntness?

Make your mind up.

It's very telling that you give absolutely zero credence to over 300,000 people who have watched that video. I believe that's a record. And all those positive comments.

You're in denial.

BovaryX · 02/12/2019 15:48

Er, haven’t you grasped it yet? The paradigm is shifting. This is a question of freedom of speech and thought and as a consequence of both contemporary court cases, it has been amplified beyond any echo chamber. Douglas Murray’s Madness of Crowds is in every book shop. People don’t like compelled speech, especially when it’s used to force people to deny objective reality.

BovaryX · 02/12/2019 15:52

It is what the vast majority of people on the planet know to be a fact of life

Precisely. That’s why the no debate faction can’t have any debate. Because their ideological position is unsustainable

womanaf · 02/12/2019 15:56

So what we really need, is people who show that it’s not bigotry, it’s concern, it’s biology, it’s reason, we can still respect TW without accepting they can change sex.

Go ahead, make your videos, post on Twitter, build a following, try and not get doxxed, try and not get banned, try and not get asked to go to the police station for questioning, when you get banned anyway, start again on a new platform, repeat over and over for years.

And maybe one day you’ll get a thread on MN saying littlelamp is awesome.

SapphosRock · 02/12/2019 16:07

So on a thread about Posie Parker and how amazing she is, it is completely unacceptable to comment on Posie Parker or give opinions on her Unless you agree she’s fantastic? Is that right?

Hit the nail on the head there. Any other opinion and the poster is jumped on with accusations of 'the mask is slipping' and 'you can't possibly be posting in good faith'.

I'm glad other posters are putting their heads above the parapet to point out what a dodgy individual PP is. Even if it does mean a barrage of snide remarks. An echo chamber of praise for Posie Parker really would be a scary place to be.

LangCleg · 02/12/2019 16:10

Do you think Posie appeals to the average woman who isn’t the typical GC woman?

Yes! And the men! That's the fucking point!

When every single institution, including the nation's most trusted broadcaster, is in propaganda lockstep, who do you think cuts through to your average person in the street? Kathleen Stock, professor of philosophy, with her careful academic argument? Or Posie, with her blunt direct speech and refusal to employ euphemism?

Much as I like and respect the hell out of her, it ain't Kathleen. And, for all your faux agonising, you know this very well. Which is why you're here.

HorseWithNoFucksToGive · 02/12/2019 16:12

No feminist accepts that men can define the word women.

I have made several attempts over the last few days to get these people to define woman without using the word woman. But they can't do it. Not won't - can't.

Who is it now? This Sappho person? I'll try again:

Sappho, please define the word "woman" for me without using the word woman in the definition.

Thank you.

TheShoesa · 02/12/2019 16:13

The people that need convincing are the people who are too ‘nice’ to say it or act on it or support it. PP does not appeal to those women (in my opinion)

But Posie's direct approach is exactly the reason that this 'live and let live, be kind' mouse started speaking up in real life. She convinced me!

LangCleg · 02/12/2019 16:14

If your idea of activism is to preach to the choir

well it certainly isn't Posie's idea of activism

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
