I haven’t a clue what kind of feminist I am, or the rest of you all are or aren’t - still know humans can’t change sex and still can’t believe that’s somehow become unsayable.

LangCleg · 02/12/2019 12:45

I forget that sarcasm doesn't always come across in posts.

Sarcasm is the least of your problems on this thread. You don't know what radical feminism is. You don't understand GRA procedures. You don't understand EqA exemptions. You present libfem positions as radfem positions. You use misogynistic tropes to attack women. You've argued against your own previous arguments at least half a dozen times on this thread so far. I could go on. It's impossible to credit your good faith.

Like I say - I genuinely prefer honest interactions with honest genderists.

SapphosRock · 02/12/2019 12:45

I think we can do better and it upsets me that that some must aim so low, that someone who works with white supremacists amongst other things is still considered a hero because you share opinions on one cause.

Excellently put!

It's like feminists praising Donald Trump for being GC and overlooking the fact he likes to grab women by the pussy. Or saying 'well he apologised so it's all fine'.

We deserve better than PP.

Butterisbest · 02/12/2019 12:48

@Littlelamp456

For me at least, I think we can fight for women’s rights without sidelining some women or contributing to people who seek to oppress us further. I think we can do better and it upsets me that that some must aim so low, that someone who works with white supremacists amongst other things is still considered a hero because you share opinions on one cause.
Well, you clearly think it's ok to sideline and slander one woman, then patronise those that have said they like some of her methods.
Thanks, but no thanks. Your particular view can just fuck off.
I'm wondering if you and SapphosRock are part of the group that Posie was thrown out of.

Hirsutefirs · 02/12/2019 12:48

We haven’t “got” Posie.

As individuals we either listen and agree or not, or do something else.

BernardBlacksWineIceLolly · 02/12/2019 12:49

Posie does seem to bring out the controlling streak in some people doesn't she?

I disapprove of her, so you must denounce her, otherwise I will be very upset and go on and on (and fucking on) about it

weird weird weird (to quote a PP)

Hirsutefirs · 02/12/2019 12:49

“We deserve better than PP”

I should have put the quote in.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 02/12/2019 12:50

I haven’t a clue what kind of feminist I am, or the rest of you all are or aren’t - still know humans can’t change sex

And that's why we'll frequently find ourselves in agreement with people who're not feminists at all, because water is wet, the sun rises in the east, jumping off tall buildings without a parachute or a bungee cord is a bad idea, and humans can't change sex. I'm sure many Very Bad People agree with me about these things, not because I've become a Very Bad Person too but because it's bloody obvious that these things are true.

BernardBlacksWineIceLolly · 02/12/2019 12:51

We deserve better than PP.

who's 'we' Saphos ?

I'm unconvinced that there's any group apart from maybe 'adult human female' that includes you and me

but nice forced teaming Star

LangCleg · 02/12/2019 12:53

"We should support the law as it is and recommend a few tweaks that might benefit a few, mostly middle class, women."

Said no radical feminist, ever.

Littlelamp456 · 02/12/2019 12:54

I’ve said your entitled to your opinion. I’m entitled to mine. It works both ways. You can’t force me to think like you by telling me to ‘fuck off’ sounds like a tactic a TRA would use really.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 02/12/2019 13:01

I mean, there are online dictionaries, right? In which one could look up the meaning of both "radical" in general and "radical feminist" in particular?

SapphosRock · 02/12/2019 13:01

Butterisbest it's a shame you can't engage with people who hold a different opinion to you without telling them they are posting in bad faith or to fuck off.

Everyone has chosen to ignore you up until now and I hope they will continue to do so.

(Facepalm)

The group of adult human females is the exact group that radical feminism centres. Even if they disagree with them. Even if some of them act like complete idiots.

midcenturylegs · 02/12/2019 13:08

I think Butter said your "views" can fuck off. Slight semantic difference there. And I've valued the things Butter has had to say. It is a tad strange that you've targeted PP - to comment on her experience is very much so too.

BernardBlacksWineIceLolly · 02/12/2019 13:08

I think if you identify as a radical feminist but think it's OK to try to shame a woman for spending time caring for her children and for the way she looks that's fine*

*actually, that's not fine. it's kind of the opposite of being a radical feminist

midcenturylegs · 02/12/2019 13:08

*appearance not experience fgs.

SapphosRock · 02/12/2019 13:11

I've had a radical feminist have a right go at me for shaving my armpits. They are hardly known for not being forthcoming with opinions, particularly propping up the patriarchy by choosing to stay at home while a man furthers his career.

BovaryX · 02/12/2019 13:12

and still can’t believe that’s somehow become unsayable

Precisely. This is the era of newspeak. This is the era where no debate is promoted by people whose ideology can’t survive challenge. This is the era when freedom of speech faces an existential threat from some of the most authoritarian people on the planet. It’s great to see The Telegraph, The Spectator, reporting on Harry’s case and Maya’s case. Because it’s way past time for a reality check

BernardBlacksWineIceLolly · 02/12/2019 13:13

The group of adult human females is the exact group that radical feminism centres. Even if they disagree with them. Even if some of them act like complete idiots

so saying things like

(Obviously she doesn't have an actual job - that's a man's responsibility - but you know what I mean) about a woman who has chosen to spend time caring for her children is centring women?

right oh. your slip's showing you know

Lamahaha · 02/12/2019 13:15

Posted today on Standing for Women, Facebook:

Since Posie Parker's Facebook account was disabled and YouTube removed the Triggernometry video from YouTube, now reinstated, Posie's Youtube account has gained 15000 new subscribers, her cognitive dissonance video has been watched 130000 more times and the TRIGGERnometry has been viewed 314000 times in total.

By the repeated attempt to silence critical voices these muppets create interest. More and more people are feeling like they can publicly speak up!

The more activists try to shut her up, the more curious people get and the more they investigate themselves.

BernardBlacksWineIceLolly · 02/12/2019 13:16

[Radical feminists] are hardly known for not being forthcoming with opinions, particularly propping up the patriarchy by choosing to stay at home while a man furthers his career

so you've met some radical feminists who behaved like prats. but Posie isn't one. in fact the only person here who has said that they are one is you I think? the person who thinks it's legitimate to criticise a woman for the way she looks and for taking care of her children

SapphosRock · 02/12/2019 13:17

BernardBlacksWineIceLolly

Radical feminists argue girls are socialised to believe they deserve no better than to stay at home while a man goes out to work. It's one of the core concepts of it.

BernardBlacksWineIceLolly · 02/12/2019 13:18

Obviously she doesn't have an actual job

and this assumes that the only way to contribute to society is to enter the capitalist rat race and get earning baby! hardly a rad fem position

i;d ask for the tuition fees back from this school you attended
