I’m really impressed by Posie. She makes perfect sense to me & I’m in awe of her zero fucks attitude. But now it’s been pointed out that her hair is wrong I need to give some serious thought to agreeing with most of what she says.

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 30/11/2019 18:14

Oh gosh that was funny

Yeah, absolutely hilarious insinuating a poster beats their partner.
Hmm Biscuit
It was a completely random reply to a comment question I made which instead of answering, just went there.
However much people try to pretend otherwise.

clitherow · 30/11/2019 18:17

Because we are a pair of crusty old buggers, one of our favourite pastimes (me and the OH) is lamenting the lack of decent comedy these days, but areyoucallingmeawifebeater?gate actually made me laugh.

You should go on the stage Willis - but perhaps you already are because, unlike Posie, when it comes to expressing opinions you hide in the safety of the shadow of anonymity.

theflushedzebra · 30/11/2019 18:29

Give it up WOtcha - nobody was called a wife beater.

But also - thanks for the laugh Grin And of reminding me of Rik Mayall - that's always welcome. Wine

theflushedzebra · 30/11/2019 18:30

"ARE YOU CALLING ME A LOGICAL FALLACY???!!!" Grin

Coyoacan · 30/11/2019 18:33

One of the curious things about Posie Parker is that the woke accuse her of islamophobia and I don't think it is a secret that she is not a fan of Islam. Yet the woke will happily have all Muslim women and women from other minority religions confined to the house because there will be no toilet facilities or changing rooms they can safely use, while Posie Parker is doing everything possible to protect those safe spaces.

This thread has been thrilling to read. I love PP and I love most of the posters here.

Backinthecloset123 · 30/11/2019 18:34

Hilarious.

I learnt about sealioning on here and am wondering if some posts on here are that?

But scary 50s housewife look wins the internet. Grin

User 1: employs a logical fallacy to make a bad faith argument.

User 2: highlights the use of this logical fallacy and includes the most commonly used exemplar of it

User 1: complains that the exemplar IS the critique (another bad faith technique - misdirection)

User 2: provides explanation for the hard of thinking with a helpful link to a definition of the logical fallacy

User 1: ignores User 2 and continues to filibuster the misdirection

Mod team: deletes User 2's pointing out of the logical fallacy

Welcome to FWR.

Sigh.

Has any other woman got those numbers on this issue? Even close?

Give it up WOtcha

No. I won't, as the amount of twisting, gaslighting and attacking different opinions is fucking sickening on here.
Maybe you just expect people to let it lie when it happens to them, or feel upset enough to be hounded off but I won't be.

SapphosRock · 30/11/2019 18:42

I'm sure Posie gives zero fucks about anyone's opinion on her hair.

The 'poor Posie, how dreadful to comment on a woman's appearance' doesn't wash with me.

She made the decision to appear on that video with Jean-Francois Gariépy. She chose to nod along to a white nationalist, misogynist who has been accused of sexually exploiting women. Yet she somehow can't take a comment about her hair being styled in the fashion typical of the 1950s? If so then she's in the wrong job...

(Obviously she doesn't have an actual job - that's a man's responsibility - but you know what I mean)

theflushedzebra · 30/11/2019 18:45

Do your clearly derogatory attitudes to "housewives" extend to all women who stay at home with their children, Sapphos - or just Posie?

exLtEveDallas · 30/11/2019 18:46

Fuck me. It comes to something when another woman (I assume?) uses a woman’s looks as a stick to beat her with on a fucking feminist board. SMDH.

What a total dick move.

SapphosRock · 30/11/2019 18:48

theflushedzebra just Posie because she's a dick about it

theflushedzebra · 30/11/2019 18:48

A dick about what?

Hirsutefirs · 30/11/2019 18:49

Sapphics- how do you know Posie can’t take a comment about her hair?

Coyoacan · 30/11/2019 18:49

What on earth pretext did MNHQ have for deleting that perfectly sound and patient explanation, Datun?

Still you were wasting your breathe.

BickerinBrattle · 30/11/2019 18:50

Except that no one said, Poor Posie, how dreadful to comment in a woman’s hair.”

I believe what posters said was that to judge a woman by her appearance was sexist, which it is, and that it was ironic that posters doing so also frowned on Posie’s noting noting the myriad ways a male face doesn’t look female.

As for her appearance with the You-tuber, she has apologised for that and repeatedly stated she doesn’t support his views.

As far as I know, she herself has not stated that she can’t take a comment about her hair.

You might consider taking a course in constructing logical argument.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 30/11/2019 18:53

I changed my mind, I'm taking my gin back.

theflushedzebra · 30/11/2019 18:56

BickerinBrattle · 30/11/2019 18:56

SapphosRock · 30/11/2019 19:05

As for her appearance with the You-tuber, she has apologised for that and repeatedly stated she doesn’t support his views.

She can apologise all she wants but she's promoted his fucking awful podcast. I refuse to believe she didn't bother to check out one thing about him beforehand.

What is more concerning is the lack of outrage on this forum for her promoting something that goes against the very core of feminism. The level of outrage is higher about a comment on her hair. On a feminist forum!

Weird. Weird. Weird.

And I can't even have a gin because I'm pregnant Envy (envy)

theflushedzebra · 30/11/2019 19:12

Question is, why would you make a comment about her hair, on a feminist forum?

We all already know why she did those interviews. It's been explained multiple times. Some choose to use it as a stick to beat her with - the rest of us don't.

And why the derogatory remarks about "scary 1950s housewives" - do you enjoy putting women down? Hmm
