Sappy- I she really does support his views, why did she apologise?

Hirsutefirs · 30/11/2019 19:12

If she, etc.

theflushedzebra · 30/11/2019 19:13

Tell me Sapphos, will your child be assigned a sex at birth? Or do you consider that biological sex is something immutable that is observed at birth?

SapphosRock · 30/11/2019 19:16

Okay - I apologise for comparing Posie's hair to a 1950s housewife. That was irrelevant and unnecessary. Sorry Posie.

And apologies just make everything go away just like it never happened. It's not like it's out there in the public domain for all to see.

JellyfishAndShells · 30/11/2019 19:17

She is fab and brave.

And there are some bonkers derailers on here who are flailing and huffing to no effect whatsoever. The ‘ did you call me a wife beater?’ one - how embarrassing.

SapphosRock · 30/11/2019 19:21

theflushedzebra I'm having a little boy thanks for asking.

Just because I don't subscribe to 'anyone who hates the trans is fine in my book' ideology doesn't mean I agree with not assigning children with their true biological sex at birth.

This thread gets weirder and weirder.

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 30/11/2019 19:23

Suspect it’s for screenshots

@Littlelamp456
Screenshots for what?
Looks like you're being accused of being a board plopper who's come running over from Twitter to take MN screenshots from posters on here to say "look, they're so meannnn" Hmm

I am allowed to have an opinion, sorry if it offends anyone

Yep, and same

theflushedzebra · 30/11/2019 19:24

Just because I don't subscribe to 'anyone who hates the trans is fine in my book' ideology

Wo do you think does that?

theflushedzebra · 30/11/2019 19:24

*Who

koshkat · 30/11/2019 19:26

Just because I don't subscribe to 'anyone who hates the trans is fine in my book' ideology doesn't mean I agree with not assigning children with their true biological sex at birth

Sex is observed.

WeDieAndSeeBeautyReign · 30/11/2019 19:26

The 'poor Posie, how dreadful to comment on a woman's appearance' doesn't wash with me

Your comments about her appearance were appalling. I'm not particularly a fan of PP; I'm not particularly gender critical or a feminist. However a poster who presumably thinks she is a feminist criticising another woman's appearance and clothes seems like a big, huge fail in basic feminist theory.

There used to be jokes about keeping spreadsheets of posters; were I to keep one your name would be on the list of posters whose opinions aren't worth wasting any time on.

SapphosRock · 30/11/2019 19:26

theflushedzebra all the people that brush over Posie's very clear disregard for women, children and feminism because she doesn't like trans people.

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 30/11/2019 19:27

Wo do you think does that?

Well, at a guess if you will happily appear on an extremely anti women channel and suck up their other vile women views just because they hold the same opinion as you on trans people... what do you think the poster meant?
(Apologies if that's not what you meant Sapphos!)

pombear · 30/11/2019 19:27

SapphosRock
She can apologise all she wants but she's promoted his fucking awful podcast. I refuse to believe she didn't bother to check out one thing about him beforehand.
This is a fascinating couple of sentences. "Yes, I acknowledge she apologised". "But I refuse to believe her."

What action would you deem appropriate for you to accept an apology? Or are people, once they put a step out of your lines 'cancelled'? Even when they apologise.

How far out of your lines are people allowed to stray before you refuse to believe them? Wrong meeting room booked? Wrong person spoken to? Wrong thought expressed? How are people meant to know exactly what boundaries are within your 'refusal to believe ' territory?

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis
Given how many other posters explained Datun's use of 'when did you stop beating your wife' well-known 'loaded question' example to you, even if you weren't aware of it, are you able to address the fact that maybe you'd misinterpreted her use of the term? I can understand your kneejerk reaction, but once it's explained?

Or are you going to continue to cling on to it as evidence as a direct offence to yourself?

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 30/11/2019 19:27

Cross posted

theflushedzebra · 30/11/2019 19:28

Sapphos:

Interviewer: "What do have have against transwomen?"

Posie: "I don't. I just don't think they're women".

Posie is clearly standing up for women and children.

koshkat · 30/11/2019 19:28

Sorry what? Posie has a clear disregard for women, children and feminism? Have I misread?

WeDieAndSeeBeautyReign · 30/11/2019 19:28

exLtEveDallas

Fuck me. It comes to something when another woman (I assume?) uses a woman’s looks as a stick to beat her with on a fucking feminist board. SMDH

What a total dick move

Isn't it just.

koshkat · 30/11/2019 19:30

And Willis - are you not a tad embarrassed at your epic misunderstanding? Grin

theflushedzebra · 30/11/2019 19:31

Just because I don't subscribe to 'anyone who hates the trans is fine in my book' ideology doesn't mean I agree with not assigning children with their true biological sex at birth

"Sex is observed."

Exactly! That's why I asked the question. I really can't trust the judgement of anyone who starts talking about assigned at birth.

theflushedzebra · 30/11/2019 19:32

I think Sapphos's mask just slipped a bit there.

koshkat · 30/11/2019 19:40

I think you may be right.

iguanadonna · 30/11/2019 19:43

All middle-aged women who have opinions in public must be Totally Perfect every time because they are your mum and represent everyone and everything. Also their hair needs to be Just Right. Every time.

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 30/11/2019 19:48

Well, that's a load of shite to start with, middle age women in public are more than entitled to their opinion, whatever it may be.
I'm one myself.
I definitely don't have just right hair though if we're supposed to have that.
Ah well

koshkat · 30/11/2019 19:53

Willis so you are trolling. Why?
