I think she is funny and sassy and doesn't take herself too seriously. Her dude looks like a lady piece on IACeleb showed her humor.
However tonight she said that it's hard work becoming a women as there is so much more work (James called it women admin) and that she needs to get up an hour earlier now she is a women and can't just shower and go.
Why does this make you a woman. I wash and go, I don't have manicures nor do I wear make up, I do not get up early to get ready but I'm equally a woman. Why should woman equal groomed?

Willis
How is that any different what you're saying there to when some people said in the past that programmes are "PC gawn mad" or to use the new word of "woke" if for example a black person or a disabled character was introduced
This is your answer in response to Caitlyn being transgender. Please explain to me why you think it's appropriate to use examples of black persons and disabled persons in a discussion about a transgender person.

GirlDownUnder · 24/11/2019 20:15

conflate
/kənˈfleɪt/
verb
combine (two or more sets of information, texts, ideas, etc.) into one.

Willis I’ll highlight where you did exactly this just to make it really easy for you:

How is that any different what you're saying there to when some people said in the past that programmes are "PC gawn mad" or to use the new word of "woke" if for example a black person or a disabled character was introduced?

This thread is about a white AMAB who IDs as a transwoman.

Also, just so you stop insulting minorities, black / disabled are not identities, they are facts. Like white and man and bicycle. I don’t think you should appropriate their struggles to shore up a poor argument.

GirlDownUnder · 24/11/2019 20:16

Sorry Butterisbest - cross posted Brew

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 24/11/2019 20:22

Please explain to me why you think it's appropriate to use examples of black persons and disabled persons in a discussion about a transgender person

It was an example of prejudice and how people in the past used to say the exact same if a black person, or a disabled person was introduced to a show - you'd get some people saying stuff like they were being brought out as a token black, or disabled person (NOT saying I am agreeing with this viewpoint, I completely disagree with it!)
And now you get posters on this thread saying it about people who are trans.
Here before someone goes "Where?"
CJ was asked to be on the show because they are trans and it is the trendy thing to highlight at the moment
I wasn't conflating trans with being black or disabled.
Just saying that it's the same attitude.
"Political correctness gawn mad" they'd say (or now it'd probably be the phrase "so woke their brains have fallen out" still newspeak for the old phrase though

Ach, I don't even know why I'm bothering.
You do you.

GirlDownUnder
No problem, your explanation said exactly what I wanted to say so thanks.

XXMansplainShieldActive · 24/11/2019 22:07

Stop trying to conflate black and disabled people with men who reject their sex, it's not relevant and is racist and disablist to imply otherwise.

HandsOffMyRights · 24/11/2019 22:19

Well said Girl Jenner is a former and hugely successful Olympian, part of a multi-million dollar showbiz dynasty.

CJ's advantage is life is clear and is in no way comparable with the examples used.

Ok, Willis
I definitely do understand your point of view. I was sort of where you are about 2 years ago, then I woke up and I fucking love the coffee.
If you're not a Men's Rights Activist or a Trans Rights Activist.
I'm wondering why you post on a Feminist discussion site. Telling women to be kind is so last year. No woman should tell other women how to behave.
So take your internal misogyny and you do you. When the class of women is erased. I hope you don't ever say out loud "how did this happen"

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 24/11/2019 22:27

I've got as much right as a woman as you to post on here and be interested in the topics on here.
Who are you, the Board Police?

FleetsumNJetsum · 24/11/2019 22:37

Willis
It's just that every time you post it does seem your aim is to correct our thinking. Are you the Wimmin Police?

Butterisbest · 24/11/2019 22:37

I'm definitely not the board police as you well know I never said I was , I'm just expressing my opinions. You're obviously very invested so please don't think I was trying to stop you from posting.

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 24/11/2019 22:44

I'm definitely not the board police as you well know I never said I was

Oh good, just with this I'm wondering why you post on a Feminist discussion site it's like you only want people with the same opinion as you on here.

No woman should tell other women how to behave
Agree with you there, which is why I used the phrase you do you upthread.

I'm just expressing my opinions
Yes, so am I.

differentnameforthis · 25/11/2019 08:02

@WotchaTalkinBoutWillis
This is your MO. Always bringing it back to people of colour and disabilities. You are ALWAYS told not to conflate them, you always do. You never listen.

If several people are telling you that you are doing something, and you are arguing that you are not, it's probably not them who are a bit daft and hard of thinking.
