It's worth watching just to see how uncomfortable the guy in the grey sweatshirt was throughout.

I thought it was interesting that the other guy was adamant that male transpeople shouldn't be in womens sport because of their physical strength, but couldn't see the problem with the same transperson being in a changing room with a girl or woman.

Gone2far · 17/11/2019 21:41

I enjoyed it because it was the 1st interview I've seen on the subject that allowed time for a proper discussion of the subject. The interviewers, although they disagreed with her in some areas, gave her space to state her views. Which she did, admirably.
I loved how often they would make a statement (such as male vs female brains) and she would basically take a breath and say 'no'. Then explain why not.

AnduinsGirl · 17/11/2019 21:49

Enjoyed this massively, and agree with the previous poster that the interviewers did a decent job.

Backinthecloset123 · 17/11/2019 21:52

Posie was great. She got booted off mumsnet for what she said in this interview on here. Confused

Do men never ask themselves why, or how, women are taken advantage of? Oppressed? Subjected to sexism?

If we were all armed, for instance, it could never happen.

How do they think it's done? Do they not understand the underlying threat that we are conditioned into appeasing from the minute we're born ?

I think I wanna get FOJN printed on a t shirt now!!

Not in acronym form obviously. Trying to avoid deletion here.

Jaxhog · 17/11/2019 23:11

How refreshing!

TheShoesa · 18/11/2019 06:38

Just watched the whole thing, really enjoyed it.

FOJN on a t shirt would be great

KettlePolly · 18/11/2019 12:53

Great interview. She got all the key points in and I honestly think she did make the interviewers change their minds a little.

If it doesn't happen to them I think some men struggle to really get it. It's like Posie said men see hair tits and makeup and think "woman" but women pick up on a multitude of other cues and can spot "performative" femininity a mile off.

Men can be superwoke because it really doesn't affect their lives. It's that additional step of empathy to consider women and girls and that so rarely bloody happens. Posie does a great job of getting them to, not by appealing to emotion or women as victims but just pointing out the logical flaws and ludicrous consequences in lazy thinking.

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 18/11/2019 13:21

I'll look out for the full version of this. Thanks for the heads up.

BlackTeaDrinker · 18/11/2019 13:24

Just had a fella on Twitter tell me this. After telling me what an ally to women he is. Hmm

NeurotrashWarrior · 18/11/2019 13:42

This is brilliant!

At 40 mins, the brain question...!

Men can be superwoke because it really doesn't affect their lives.

I always find it interesting when people say this. I see more superwoke women than men, particularly on trans stuff. I've tended to think its because men are often very aware of their greater size and strength even when many women aren't, but that's just a guess really.

NeurotrashWarrior · 18/11/2019 14:57

Brilliant, esp the last 5 mins.

The only other thing I wanted her to say was along the lines of what Barracker wrote about how pronouns are Rohypnal to emphasis that point.

Hellmistress · 18/11/2019 14:58

I think many women are the same: trans people are few so I'll probably never meet one. And I'm not likely to need a DV refuge or rape support, and I'll NEVER find myself in a prison, so this is only going to affect a small minority of other women, but who cares, I feel good because I'm so woke

NeurotrashWarrior · 18/11/2019 14:58

And I thought the interview questions were great; clear around their research and also the fact they didn't fully agree mean for more rigorous questioning, which she handled brilliantly!

Coyoacan · 18/11/2019 15:08

I wonder if it is the same principle that has made colonised people throughout the ages emulate the colonists.

DuMondeB · 18/11/2019 15:47

The comments under the full version are brilliant. Pretty much everyone gets the GC position (of course they do, because most people know where babies come from).

CranberriesChoccy · 18/11/2019 16:08

When the guy on the right asked if she would accept a separate category for trans-athletes, I felt it was a disingenuous question anyway because people like McKinnon would reject that. Are trans athletes asking for that? I think it would be a possible solution but they'd just say it was excluding them, transphobic, blah blah.

ZuttZeVootEeeVro · 18/11/2019 17:52

At 40 mins, the brain question...!

I think the look on their faces when questioned about the female brain was good. As with a lot of people they can get behind the idea of male and female brains without thinking too deeply, when asked what exactly they mean, they don't know what to say.

I think this is how tra theories (wrong body, sex is a spectrum) have taken hold. They sound sort of reasonable, with a smattering of science words, that can seem believable at first glance. But very difficult to explain in your words, or justified under any sort of scrutiny.

Coyoacan · 18/11/2019 22:15

She done good

Hi all,

Konstantin here from TRIGGERnometry.

Thank you for watching the interview and the feedback. You might like to know that YouTube have now deleted this interview as "hate speech".

Welcome to 2019.

ScrimshawTheSecond · 19/11/2019 14:56

What?! That is outrageous.
