The Sunday Times reporting a long overdue judicial review after an (alleged) sexual assault on a woman prisoner by a male born trans rapist who had been placed in a female prison. (trying to be careful with language given the oppressive monitors who try to control this board).

Just to clarify, Jones killed a gay man, not a woman.

Of course his voice was "shaking". He was a woman. That's what women's voices do. Men's voices don't shake, because men aren't afraid. Boys' voices shake and women's shake, but men's? Men are big and strong and not afraid of anything. Only in hindsight might they admit a bit of fear and because they're so big and strong, it was undetectable in their voices anyway.

This bit actually links with toxic masculinity. It's a similar account to the guys who used to be in the armed forces who tried to be a "real man" by being GI Joe and then end up transitioning. If they only knew - believed and felt - that GI Joe wasn't the only valid iteration of "male" (and likewise Barbie/prostitute not female). It would appear the "Nick" made a massive mistake in suggesting trans and shows where therapists could take time to explore more.

I read those accounts and what struck me was not that those prisoners should be moved to the women’s estate, but that the men’s estate badly needs to be radically improved. Most of the stuff, assaults and bullying and so on, are largely preventable, but it doesn’t sound as if there’s any willingness to change.

But it’s the usual. Men are at risk in the men’s estate, so instead of sorting that out, we’ll make the women move over. And all the other vulnerable men, who don’t claim to be women will go on being harassed. Be really no prisoners matter.

Watched the Unsafe Sex in the City programme. Two claims made by Strange/Edwards, presented without comment.

Nurse in the clinic asks how many partners in the last three months: reply “62 since January”

Later in the programme talking about the claimed intersex condition, which involves having a penis and a vagina: “It’s been terrible because the penis part isn’t really big enough, obviously the vagina part isn’t, you know, very workable at the best of times, so obviously it left me in a situation where it was, like, sexual life wasn’t... pretty much non-existent.”

As far as I understand the science, DSD is rarely manifested in having a mix of Male and female genitalia. That is a myth. It’s much more about chromosomal differences, or - like Caster Semenya - underdeveloped or internal genitalia.

During the hearing today, the 75-year-old was referred to as Ms Arthurell.

Clearly in no possible way is this person a woman. People who believe he is a woman have been brainwashed, gaslighted and lied to. He is a murdering man who killed people in three different decades and is now being allowed out to indulge his sexual fetish at taxpayers' expense.

For the late transitioners that's as common a narrative as that of having identified as trans in childhood. Even Lili Elbe claimed to have been intersex, but it's quite clear from the surviving documentation that this was not the case.

It is, sincerely, something that many non-homosexual transsexuals do hold onto as a possible explanation for their sex dysphoria. Sometimes they even hope for a diagnosis of a DSD, to get away from the stigma attached to their condition.

However, people with a DSD who decide that the sex they were assigned at birth does not feel right are not trans. (The only people who are assigned a sex at birth are babies with a DSD where even specialist input cannot provide clear answers.) That's because their problem isn't that they feel like the sex they were born into is wrong, like those who identify as trans may do, but because no such clarity exists for them. And these individuals are very rare, estimated at 0.0001% of the population in the UK - or to put it differently, that is one such individual every two years in the UK who decides that their assigned sex does not fit. DSDs where babies have ambiguous genitals at birth are thankfully rare, but the problems they face are complicated and emotionally challenging. Neither they nor their families deserve having their difficult medical issues being used to prop up trans identities.

Sure, not all 'trans people' are like that, but some have gender identity issues and other issues. It's a fact that convicted paedophiles and rapists can get a referral to the Gender Identity Clinic. Dr Barrett has treated paedophiles, and he was also a key witness in Karen Jones's appeal.
I think we really need to get away from this idea that people with gender identity issues are, as LangCleg put it, a sacred caste.

I don't disagree; my point was that those with a sexual paraphalia claiming to have gender dysphoria are indistinguishable from those who do have gender dysphoria. (well, probably psychologists COULD investigate this, but they don't seem willing to do so, out of a belief that gender identity is something sacred and unquestionable.)

those paedophiles referred to the GIC may simply get arousal from dressing as women, seek access to women, etc. The fact that they are being seen by the GIC doesn't mean they do have gender identity dysphoria per se. Some will, clearly.

No reason at all for males in female prisons, even if they are largely kept away from the female prisoners. If they are in danger in the mens, a seperate wing in the mens would do. Or yeah, given there are apparently 1600, a seperate prison entirely. Though I suspect the numbers would drop to single figures if there was not the prospect of shifting to the womens estate. The prisons thing is a bit of a dilemma for TRAs, either transpeople are more likely to be offenders than the usual population, or..many men are using selfID for dodgy reasons. But noone would abuse self ID. And I really doubt transpeople are more dangerous than the rest of society either. But it must be one of these..

(Not saying transpeople ARE more likely to offend there btw. I think its clear which of the two possible reasons for the unusual numbers is right, and I do not think transwomen are more of a risk than any other male. But, we are told it never happens, that anyone would abuse self ID)
