Any more information out there on this?

OP posts:
EmpressLesbianInChair · 26/10/2019 11:18

Why the fark was Debbie Hayton at the meeting?

As a straight male ally? Debbie attending that meeting while still believing in gender identity would make no sense at all.

TruthOnTrial · 26/10/2019 11:22

It absolutely does make sense.

They will not be shut out of anything.

They cannot allow others to have discourse and choose their own direction or find their own solidarity, support and gather to fight for their own rights. Preferring instead to trample all over everyone else's rights and spaces and profiles, all hard fought for.

TruthOnTrial · 26/10/2019 11:26

Its true to form, and a surprise really lgb managed to run their meeting and it not be completely aggressively targetted, mobbed, lobbied and shut down.

LGB Alliance did well. Perhaps it caught on them on the back foot being blind to others needs as they are

MsMcWibble · 26/10/2019 11:28

Cutting off the money supply. Absolutely textbook abuser tactics.

Findumdum1 · 26/10/2019 11:41

I know its not really funny but I am finding amusing how long the list of so called transphibic people is becoming:

Women
Especially Feminists
Especially Lesbians
Especially female athletes
The Christian Right
The Far Right
All 4 million odd mumsnet users (even if they've only ever posted in the pregnancy and childbirth sections)
And now:
Bisexuals
Gay men

Still leaving off the one group who probably are the least accomodating of people that want to be accepted as the opposite sex of course ....

I'm not paranoid, they're just all out to get me ....

ThreeLittleDinosaursROAR · 26/10/2019 11:52

The homophobia at play here is horrific but of course not shocking. Hence why they had to start a new alliance to begin with! I'm sure crowdfunder will put it back up shortly before the influx of complaints over their homophobia.

ThreeLittleDinosaursROAR · 26/10/2019 11:53

By shocking I mean based on how they've behaved previously.

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 26/10/2019 11:57

Good to see the Facebook page has a steadily rising number of likes - 1.5k already.
And that's despite the Twitter shadowbanning etc.
All the morally bankrupt Stonewall has left in its arsenal is feeble attempts to muffle the new group, but with this much support out there they won't be shut down.

ThreeLittleDinosaursROAR · 26/10/2019 11:58

@Findumdum1 You're forgetting people who believe in science, specifically biology. That's already the case, but I'm pretty sure They'll try and blow up the biology world next. Apparently some are also self-identifying as doctors too. Shock

ArnoldWhatshisknickers · 26/10/2019 12:11

Who could complain about fund-raising for gay rights.

Homophobes I imagine, perhaps homophobes who promote and inherently homophobic ideology, or maybe the sort of homophobes who harass lesbians and call them names for refusing to have sex with men.

Maybe.

On the plus side organisations once they are up and running can ask supporters to fund them directly, cutting out the possibility of homophobes putting pressure on cowardly middle men.

Melroses · 26/10/2019 12:17

There are some good comments on the link to today's Times that Igneococcus put up. The first one I came to was Andi Cross (who I follow on Twitter) which was very eloquent about what Stonewall's wider activities and lack of accountablility.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 26/10/2019 12:40

They will not be shut out of anything.

They cannot allow others to have discourse and choose their own direction or find their own solidarity, support and gather to fight for their own rights. Preferring instead to trample all over everyone else's rights and spaces and profiles, all hard fought for.

Are WPUK still inviting this person to their meetings? If so I think they need to have a think about whether that's really a good idea.

testing987654321 · 26/10/2019 13:00

They tweeted that stonewall had let them down too. I am not sure what Hayton wants.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 26/10/2019 13:01

Control.

xJodiex · 26/10/2019 13:14

Thank goodness, maybe LGB people can stop being harrassed now.

ErrolTheDragon · 26/10/2019 13:16

Maybe better not to risk derailing the thread by focussing on individuals other than the LGB people involved in this movement?

testing987654321 · 26/10/2019 13:18

It's interesting that Hayton was invited to the first meeting. I wonder what criteria the organisers were using. It said it was invite only.

Very similar to Hayton getting involved in the start of women realising they needed to organise to protect women's rights again.

testing987654321 · 26/10/2019 13:19

Yes sorry Errol. Good point.

JustTurtlesAllTheWayDown · 26/10/2019 13:19

I know its not really funny but I am finding amusing how long the list of so called transphibic people is becoming

I've noticed a trend on twitter recently from TRAs talking about how butch lesbians give off 'terf energy', often screen shotting profiles that have nothing to do with trans or gender critical anything, but apparently just 'look' transphobic.
Blatant lesbophobia and misogyny.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 26/10/2019 13:24

Eventually there will only be 5 non "transphobes" left on Twitter who're not included in the blockbot, and they'll all hate each other.

ThreeLittleDinosaursROAR · 26/10/2019 13:29

@JustTurtlesAllTheWayDown Shock And why isn't that getting publicity?!

JustTurtlesAllTheWayDown · 26/10/2019 17:12

It bloody well should imo.
I'm guessing its the same reason that there's been far too little publicity about the cotton ceiling or women being told to 'cope' with penises, or the endless 'punch a terf' or 'terf in my mentions' threats, and so on and so on.

Italiangreyhound · 26/10/2019 18:51

I really wonder what people at Stonewalll thinks of folks like Riley J Dennis do they think these views are OK?

No wonder LGB people wanted their own group.

EmpressLesbianInChair · 26/10/2019 18:58

As someone Stonewall have tried to get arrested a couple of times for protesting about lesbian rights / the rights of children not to be drugged & mutilated for being gender-nonconforming, I don’t think they care.

They can’t care. Because trans rights are where the money is, and they made a conscious decision to focus on that. LGB rights are now completely off their radar & the fact that the LGB Alliance is now telling the world about that makes them furious because they might look bad & lose funding from people who hadn’t realised Stonewall were now homophobic. That’s all.

AutumnRose1 · 26/10/2019 22:35

Well, I said they'd be banned by Twitter by the morning after this thread.

It didn't happen. But their crowd funding has been suspended so....reckon it's still going wrong.

Thank you to all the brave people battling for this one. Flowers
