Upfield (manufacturers of Flora marg, and Proactiv) don't want Mumsnet to buy their products any more

They've made the decision to 'no longer work with Mumsnet' because they want to 'treat everyone equally' because of their 'values'.

By this I'm sure they mean any woman who uses this site should definitely NOT buy their products. That would be an unpleasant association between mumsnet and their values that would be too much to bear.

Here is a helpful list of their products that they don't want in any way associated with Mumsnet:

Country rock
Flora
Rama
BlueBand
Lätta
Flora Proactiv
Becel
I can't believe it's not butter

Please don't sully their brands with any association from you, you horrid mumsnetters. Your money is tainted with unacceptable values.

'trans fats for trans people'

CaptainKirksSpikeyGhost · 14/10/2019 21:49

"Flora, it's a spreadable substance."

RedToothBrush · 14/10/2019 21:53

DH, who is interesting in politics and follows all sorts of blogs says some academic has just announced he is writing a book on the politicalisation of MN

Well its always been political...

... It hasn't been politicised.

I beg to differ that its the rest of the world waking up to the problems women face on the basis of their sex, rather than MN 'becoming politicised'.

Women talking about their problems isn't some revolutionary act that occurred in or around 2018.

Idiot.

You sat on MrNeedmoresleep? Well done.

She's already written about Mumsnet.

Fekko Grin

I hope Needmoresleep doesn't mind.

Needmoresleep · 14/10/2019 22:27

The important thing is that Mr Needmoresleep does not mind being sat on by the Wonderdog.

That bloke seems to have made a whole career out of MN. (Now off to see if he says anything sensible.)

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 14/10/2019 22:41

He appears to have his own fan club now!

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 14/10/2019 22:45

Blokess!

ScrimshawTheSecond · 14/10/2019 22:57

If she's writing about Mumsnet will she put the bit in it when we discuss the book she's writing? META.

ShesDressedInBlackAgain · 14/10/2019 23:05

She has kinda blown her cover innit?

Is she a fan though? Maybe she's this LengClag newbie?

littlbrowndog · 14/10/2019 23:06

Could be that newbie. Langly

🧐

Orangepearl · 14/10/2019 23:08

One fat lie.

'trans fats for trans people'

As your resident chemistry pedant, I need to point out that they (or maybe the FDA) did realise some time ago that trans fats created by artificial partial hydrogenation of oils were unhealthy and reformulated to avoid them. I'm guessing that's when they started using palm oil - it's one of the few plant oils which is partially saturated and so semi solid.

ClosdesMouches · 14/10/2019 23:54

Bugger! DH said no trans fats these days but I said he was wrong. Blush

Nevertheless it's foul stuff.

DancelikeEmmaGoldman · 15/10/2019 00:39

Women talking about their problems isn't some revolutionary act that occurred in or around 2018.

You know how scientists keep discovering rare critters that were declared extinct, but then found quietly going about their business?

It seems women are the rare critters. We’ve always been here politicising away, whether on MN or around the village well or the throne rooms of royalty.

And then some bloke notices and declares he’s discovered the rare political human female, long considered a myth.

Candidpeel · 15/10/2019 00:39

She spoke at the event at Edinburgh Uni with Julie Bindel

traceyracer · 15/10/2019 01:30

Just had a browse through the comments. Everyone is just saying "oh well Upfield's produce is disgusting anyway noone wants to buy it" and noone is questioning why they came to that decision?

I've been keeping quiet about the whole trans-thing this board has for a while now but you do all seem a little... obsessed?

DuMondeB · 15/10/2019 01:35

Tracey, give over, you’ve been posting here at least as long as I have!

Creepster · 15/10/2019 01:52

I am so shocked that women interested in Feminism and women's rights post obsessively on the Feminism and women's rights board on MN. What can this mean?

OccasionalKite · 15/10/2019 02:04

Flora people reject cunty people?

Cunty people reject sump oil plasticised grease masquerading as a "foodstuff".

Talk about a brand shooting itself in the foot. Is the parent company deliberately running down the Flora brand for a tax write-off, or something?

There has been some speculation about this because of the new ownership.
