Not having sex with someone because they don't have the right genitals is transphobic. No prizes for guessing who's claiming this

RM is busy trying to justify their support for a particularly unpleasant tweet yesterday. For those of you who are blocked, I'll add some grabs.

One way and another the thread seems to now be on the subject of men who apparently only care about stuff that affects men. I wonder if DrH will realise why he's suddenly not in line with DrMcK?

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 02/10/2019 18:02

That's not how I read it at all.

I read it that pp was praising her young relative for being aware that men have an easier social ride though life than women (due to general patriarchal society).

You have to be looking hard to turn that into a maliciously written, out of context, gleeful jibe about male suicide.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 02/10/2019 18:03

I’m just waiting for the ‘I’m a real doctor’ comment and the fur will fly!

LordRandallXV · 02/10/2019 18:04

Ok, I'm wrong. Men are killing themselves in droves because life is just too easy...

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 02/10/2019 18:06

Do you not understand the difference between words like "easy", "easier" and "easiest"?

Learning that would greatly help your comprehension of what is being said.

LangCleg · 02/10/2019 18:08

Ok, I'm wrong. Men are killing themselves in droves because life is just too easy...

But women try to kill themselves as often, if not more often, than men. Men choose more violent methods so succeed more often.

Male suicide is a topic that you might want to bring up with other men, where you may influence things for the better. It is not a subject for you to use as a goad or a gotcha to rape survivors on a board intended for feminists to converse with one another.

HTH.

ThatCurlyGirl · 02/10/2019 18:08

Thanks @BuzzShitbagBobbly that's exactly what I was saying and I think that was clear to almost everyone.

It's exhausting isn't it. It's quite impressive the wilful refusal to show any empathy.

Anyway, I'm off to see my a few of my equally wonderful boy and girl cousins now and looking forward to having a lovely evening with themSmile

ThatCurlyGirl · 02/10/2019 18:13

And thanks @LangCleg too, hoping they missed me mentioning that previously on here because I don't want to have that experience belittled so thought best to assume that some people saw the sad irony in it too Thanks

ThePankhurstConnection · 02/10/2019 18:35

I’m just waiting for the ‘I’m a real doctor’ comment and the fur will fly!

Well this isn't a thread derailment or anything. I thought this was about RM and their everyone must be coerced into sex with me comments?

And this from Lang should be the end of that little spin off

But women try to kill themselves as often, if not more often, than men. Men choose more violent methods so succeed more often.

I am at peak Mckinnon in fact beyond the peak, I am over them. Still carry on showing the world what you really are Rach.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 02/10/2019 19:11

Not derailment at all - Well Dr someone saying to someone PhD that they are a ‘proper’ doctor therefore understands the whole biology thing...

Comedy gold.

Has Naomi worked it out yet?

ShesDressedInBlackAgain · 02/10/2019 20:13

Yeah! Let's have a thread about male suicide. Um somewhere else though - this ain't it.

I was just coming on to say what a disappointment Naomi is proving to be. But you guys beat me to it. Grin

ShesDressedInBlackAgain · 02/10/2019 20:15

And bloody Lang beat me to my excellent point about the derail too. Grrrrrrr.

Stop being so efficient.

ScrimshawTheSecond · 02/10/2019 20:16

Everyone, it's okay, Rachel is now accepting apologies. There is proof posted on Rache's twitter that someone else at some time also thought sexual preferences were transphobic. So obviously because it's printed in a book it's correct.

You can form a queue.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 02/10/2019 20:19

They do know that they can’t bully the world into wanting to have sex with them don’t they?

ThatCurlyGirl · 02/10/2019 20:22

"I will accept apologies"

Self entitlement level: RM

You could not write this shit!!!

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 02/10/2019 20:23

Any apologies yet?

TheChampagneGalop · 02/10/2019 20:28

I'm almost surprised that it wasn't written with a royal we. "We will accept apologies"

ScrimshawTheSecond · 02/10/2019 20:34

Apologies so far: None that I can see. Just an angry email from presumably a gay man who has complained about Rache calling gay and lesbian people 'immoral'. He maybe hasn't seen the memo, though.

littlbrowndog · 02/10/2019 20:40

How can I apologise

Am blocked 😂😂🤣🤣

Doyoumind · 02/10/2019 21:01

No, sorry but this has to be the best yet. What the hell is RM identifying as now? Confused Grin

Oh, what a coincidence that Rach is planning a sabbatical. Bet it's completely nothing whatsoever to do with all the complaints their employers has been getting.

Btw - of the current 6 replies, guess which one was deboosted and hidden under the 'more replies' button...

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 02/10/2019 21:10

Can you imagine working with this person?

ShesDressedInBlackAgain · 02/10/2019 21:11

Does this college/uni/youth training scheme nor have a social media policy?

TemporaryPermanent · 02/10/2019 21:13

Two interesting things for me from this episode - I was trying to find out more about asexuality, which I don't understand. I read this article and I now REALLY don't understand.

Also immensely heartening to see Dr Harrop thinking carefully, comparing TRA statements with his own experience and disagreeing with Dr RM. I wonder if it might lead to further critical thinking; hope so.
