Realise the thread has moved on slightly but I too wanted to ask @PetrolBastard a question! You say that having used a refuge, you would be happy for transwoman to also be living there. I fled to a refuge 8 years ago with my 4 year old daughter. We were both suffering from PTSD and physically couldn't cope with being around men. It took YEARS for us to recover and to feel relatively " safe " around men. I'm sure I'm not alone in how I felt, all of the women and children I lived with were severely traumatised from male violence. Do mine and my daughter's and those women who need a safe space away from men not matter? The need for sex segregated spaces such as toilets, changing rooms, prisons etc is so very important for women who are survivors of male violence...but I guess we're just transphobic bigots...

I live in a small north western town so I'll be really intrigued to see how far it travels. It's a bit like those rock painting groups. We have one from
Stratford and one from Crewe. One of ours was found in Wales by us which was weird. Dd has had one taken to Central America.

IF TRAs had stood up and said "We have some serious and abiding issues and do not feel comfortable presenting in a masculine manner. We feel more comfortable when presenting in a feminine manner. We need some accommodation whilst we work this out" - you knw, like transwomen have been saying o decades - there would be very little demur from women.

Nobody here hates trans people. We just don’t want males in our spaces. We don’t hate men just because we don’t want to get dressed in front of them, the same goes for transwomen, both groups are male.
