No, I've actually stayed in a women's refuge a long time ago. I wouldn't be at all bothered by sharing with a transwoman. I would genuinely only judge someone by whether they were or weren't a decent human being, and I wouldn't have any advance prejudices about that based on the presence or lack of any appendages.

Grimbles · 12/07/2019 10:27

PetrolBastard

All this squirming about you are doing to avoid answering a simple question is hilarious. Although, if you can't answer why dont you just say so?

GirlRaisedInTheSouth · 12/07/2019 10:27

@Grimbles I think the problem is that when people think of trans people, they are imagining old-school gay drag queens and the like. Honestly, I would have little problem with them sharing my space. I have known loads of gay drag queens in my time and never felt threatened.

However, this new breed of heterosexual trans people with penises are frankly terrifying. They are completely different. Reading some of their Twitter accounts fills me with absolute fear.

FormerMediocreMale · 12/07/2019 10:28

I don't care. No amount of penis would induce me to treat another human being like a piece of crap

You don't seem to have a problem with women being treated lije carp as long as nend feelings are not upset.

You keep saying you are not a man but how do you know? How do you define man/woman in order to know?

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 12/07/2019 10:28

PetrolBastard , PetrolBastard , you're really sure that you're a woman, to the point that you're getting quite narky about it

how do you know ?

JessicaWakefieldSV · 12/07/2019 10:28

How can you tell the difference between a transwoman and a pervert? Is this the start of some terribly un-PC joke?

It’s the same question applied to any male person. Since we can’t tell which males are perverts or hurt women just at a glance, we separate the sexes and that applies to everyone the same way. Similar risk assessment to safeguarding for children. The same rules apply to everyone, so that nobody is singled out as more likely to be an abuser based on anything other than the number 1 known risk factor: biological Male sex, as males commit 98% of sexual assaults and the majority of violent assaults.

To make a special allowance for transwomen is to treat them differently and assume all of them are safer than other males. That’s demonstrably false.

In addition to safety, most men and women prefer to get changed, use bathrooms etc separately from the opposite sex, for reasons of comfort. Trans people’s feelings are not more important than the other 99% of the population. My 71 year old mother doesn’t want to get changed around men any more than my 17 year old daughter. That’s all men equally, including my lovely husband who both adore but also do not want to get changed in front of. That’s not hate either, clearly.

DuMondeB · 12/07/2019 10:29

The have so much to say about bands being satirical and pisstake-y but still not being objectively shit (see PWEI - used to sing through a megaphone, for fucks sake, yet the singer went on to compose the scores for Requiem for a Dream and Black Swan - m.youtube.com/watch?v=

Anyway to avoid the derail, women still don’t have penises and still want single sex changing areas, toilets and prisons and political representation that ensures people with female bodies are part of the decision making process.

And I don’t hate trans people - some of my favourite singers are trans 🤗 m.youtube.com/watch?v=UzL31fzym38

In 40 years we’ve gone from ‘if you don’t want to fuck me, fuck off’ to ‘if you won’t fuck me I’ll call you a transphobe and try and get you kicked out of the Labour Party’.
This is not progressive!

SonicVersusGynaephobia · 12/07/2019 10:29

Given that our (sexed) genitals are all we're using in toilets, it would make sense for them to be all that is relevant when it comes to segregation.

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 12/07/2019 10:30

No amount of penis would induce me to treat another human being like a piece of crap

]you do know that male toilets and changing rooms are a thing, don't you? and that males can use them at will? males aren't deprived of these facilities if they can't use women's, so I really don't understand this comment

NotBadConsidering · 12/07/2019 10:31

No, I've actually stayed in a women's refuge a long time ago. I wouldn't be at all bothered by sharing with a transwoman

Not even this guy?

torontosun.com/2014/02/26/predator-who-claimed-to-be-transgender-declared-dangerous-offender/wcm/fc2c70f0-b1a1-41e2-85db-bec9d0012ce5

A sexual predator who falsely claimed to be transgender and preyed on women at two Toronto shelters was jailed indefinitely on Wednesday. Justice John McMahon declared Christopher Hambrook — who claimed to be a transgender woman named Jessica — was a dangerous offender

PetrolBastard · 12/07/2019 10:31

I love a bit of PWEI. Clint Mansell is very talented.

JessicaWakefieldSV · 12/07/2019 10:31

Petrol said earlier they don’t look at other people’s genitals when they take a wizz. That’s something only a male would say, as women pee in a cubicle and therefore can’t see anyone’s genitals even if they wanted to. Which we don’t.

Petrol, are you a transwoman?

Grimbles · 12/07/2019 10:32

Sonic. Yes instead of having male and female toilets and changing facilities maybe they should be labelled penis and vagina facilities instead?

DuMondeB · 12/07/2019 10:32

Broken PWEI link fix: m.youtube.com/watch?v=36nWNAvtwrw

Justhadathought · 12/07/2019 10:33

The process of sexual identification of another person is a deep, programmed response and understanding, based on biology and the difference s between the sexes. It is as old as the hills. Instinctive.

The instinctive responses are what are active in mixed sex situations ( & facilities) - not a long, considered responses to someone's personal character. It is normal and perfectly reasonable to be able to expect not to have to be perpetually on alert in intimate physical situations such as toilets and changing rooms.

We have single sex facilities for a reason - and indeed in many places across the world women are still not permitted a public life because of the absence of these facilities.

littlbrowndog · 12/07/2019 10:33

Bernard. You are in queue behind me of the unanswered questions queue.

And stop jumping up and down. 😎😉😉

PetrolBastard · 12/07/2019 10:34

That person wouldn't be allowed to stay in a women's refuge. You have to have a criminal background check and you are not allowed to stay if you have a history of violent offenses.

DuMondeB · 12/07/2019 10:34

Yeah, even my dog can tell a man from a woman, and she ain’t looking in anyone’s knickers.

NotBadConsidering · 12/07/2019 10:35

You could also share a refuge with this guy too if you’re not bothered:

Justhadathought · 12/07/2019 10:35

All this squirming about you are doing to avoid answering a simple question is hilarious. Although, if you can't answer why dont you just say so?

Automated spoof/troll accounts cannot respond directly to direct questions. They just generate a generalised response.

PetrolBastard · 12/07/2019 10:35

No, I'm not trans. I know it's hard to bear that a woman could disagree with you, but I'm afraid that's the case.

PetrolBastard · 12/07/2019 10:36

Again, that person wouldn't be allowed to stay in a refuge.

DuMondeB · 12/07/2019 10:37

I know that women can disagree, but consent is not decided on democratic vote. One woman saying no is a veto.

NotBadConsidering · 12/07/2019 10:37

That person wouldn't be allowed to stay in a women's refuge. You have to have a criminal background check and you are not allowed to stay if you have a history of violent offenses

Doesn’t seem to be stopping Mark Addis. It didn’t stop Hambrook. What names are searched as part of a criminal background check then? They’re current name or their “dead” name?

Grimbles · 12/07/2019 10:37

@GirlRaisedInTheSouth

Indeed. Up until a few years ago, the sight of an 'old school' transsexual is the ladies may have raised an eyebrow. But this new genre of entitled, aggressive 'transwomen' are intent on trampling over and erasing women as a class.

I put 'transwomen' that way because my opinion is that they are just men who actually hate women want to do as much as they can to make our lives difficult.
