Good grief, the grovelling begins

I don’t have words other than, WTF?!

BoudiccaKate · 26/06/2019 10:11

Christ. This is terrifying

SarahTancredi · 26/06/2019 10:12

Stuff the kids. As long as we look good.

Maybe the stall can be set up next to the pup tents....

Callmejudith · 26/06/2019 10:13

Fucking hell. I am speechless.

AgileLass · 26/06/2019 10:14

Holy shit

JessicaWakefieldSV · 26/06/2019 10:14

Pride is a shit show anyway. I’ll never support it again.

LizzieSiddal · 26/06/2019 10:17

There’s no mention what so ever that the NSPCC stopped working with MB due to safeguarding concerns, and I doubt this will be mentioned in the second NSPCC apology to MB.

If the NSPCC do gloss over this, it is absolutely terrifying.

Can we complain to the charity’s Commission about this complete lack of presentation of the truth.

PackingSoap · 26/06/2019 10:18

This is all getting very weird now. How is any of this the NSPCC's core business? Why are Pride so desperate to pull in a children's charity into their proceedings?

NotBadConsidering · 26/06/2019 10:21

After careful consideration and discussions with the NSPCC and Munroe, all parties have agreed that now is a time for healing. The NSPCC board has agreed to take the following steps in the right direction:

• Releasing a further statement reiterating their understanding of having handled things badly but ignoring the factsomeone who masturbates at work to oversee this area of their work and acknowledging the impact on staff but not those have to share facilities with this person and the community but not those who are concerned about the possibility of wanking at the NSPCC being someone’s kink, or the fact that Bergdorf endorses a kid stripping in adult bars or wants children to contact them in private
• Making a public commitment to LGBT+ young people, and rejecting anti-trans behaviours online and in the media, but not a commitment to “hairy barren lesbians”
•Establishing a dialogue with LGBT organisations such as Stonewall to understand how best to heal the pain caused to staff as well as build bridges with the community
• Hosting a stall at Pride in London which will be attended by senior NSPCC leaders to allow people at the event to raise any concerns unless it’s about safeguarding and work-wanking, which will be ignored.

Janie143 · 26/06/2019 10:24

I wish I was still shocked by this

ScaryBunnyPainting · 26/06/2019 10:30

Yikes

FamilyOfAliens · 26/06/2019 10:33

They’re welcome to each other, tbh.

R0wantrees · 26/06/2019 10:35

This response indicates that Pride In London don't understand or respect Safeguarding frameworks.

Its significant.

2BthatUnnoticed · 26/06/2019 10:37

This is regulatory capture.

This organisation has totally forgotten that it exists for children! Not only the 1% who are LBGT ~ all children.

CassianAndor · 26/06/2019 10:38

Good God. That statement belongs in the Middle Ages. Do your penance and you can be accepted back into the church, sinner!

Can they not hear themselves??? That's appalling. And so very clearly not giving a shiny shite about children, they don't care about online grooming, or children's safeguarding.

They have raised trans on to a pedestal and decided that trans can never be subject to the same scrutiny and laws as the rest of society.

Shame on you, Pride. Shame On You.

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 26/06/2019 10:45

MEA CULPA

MEA MAXIMA CULPA

Enjoy your face time with the genderists, manning that stall at Pride, senior NSPCC staff

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 26/06/2019 10:46

And yes, R0 has it, as usual

Pride have no understanding of safeguarding children. That’s pretty fucking significant

Juells · 26/06/2019 10:50

Groomed

R0wantrees · 26/06/2019 10:51

They have raised trans on to a pedestal and decided that trans can never be subject to the same scrutiny and laws as the rest of society.

Not just trans but also Kink/Queer

BeUpStanding · 26/06/2019 10:55

That reads exactly like something from Mao's Cultural Revolution. Terrifying

CassianAndor · 26/06/2019 10:56

Not just trans but also Kink/Queer

yes, agreed.

has anyone seen this article in today's Times, looks like Queer Theory could be making it into a classroom near you soon. www.thetimes.co.uk/edition/news/no-pupil-will-leave-school-without-lessons-on-same-sex-relationships-says-education-secretary-damian-hinds-8ngtrcv58

I'm surprised the Times are taking the protests about this at face value, tbh.

2BthatUnnoticed · 26/06/2019 10:59

I expressed myself badly upthread - LGBT kids, including a niece of mine, need safeguarding and appropriate boundaries as much as everyone else.

But all children are supposed to be this organisation’s priority - not the LGBT community as a whole, and certainly not the feelz of grown men and women who work there.

Also I wish they would stop conflating gay men with kink. I didn’t realise dude was gay.

HumberElla · 26/06/2019 11:00

Standing with MB 100%

So that would be:

standing with MB on ignoring and minimising children’s safeguarding

Standing with MB in insulting the L in LGBT

Standing with MB in her trying to have a woman thrown out of a public debate for raising concerns about child sexual exploitation of a child dancing in an adult club for money.

Thanks for confirming that so clearly.

CoolCarrie · 26/06/2019 11:00

That statement is truly shocking, that the hell are they thinking?

Oncewasblueandyellowtwo · 26/06/2019 11:06

Establishing a dialogue with LGBT+ organisations such as Stonewall to understand how best to heal the pain caused to staff as well as build bridges with the community
Should the NSPCC not be more concerned about children? They now have to spend how much time, grovelling to adults.
