How charming!

When asked if he thought this was suitable entertainment for children before Pride, PupChester said no (see screenshot)

So if Pride is a celebration of fetish, why are our police and town councils supporting it so broadly? Why are we closing streets to parade BDSM fans?

Since when was Pride a day for furries and fetishists?

But I agree that parents would be better off taking children to the zoo or a theme park.

Aspley · 23/06/2019 12:29

Why are fetishes like this allowed at Pride?
It is only confirming to some the homophobic idea that gays, and to a lesser extent lesbians are deviant.

GoodbyePiccadilly · 23/06/2019 12:35

If you are wondering where the police were.

And this is how lesbians are treated at Pride:

I joined my lesbian sisters today as a bisexual woman and an ally, to fill a space left by lesbian women too terrified ans traumatised to march themselves. It was clear from the start we would face hostility.
I noticed one particular speaker on the open top bus at the start who gave the vibe of some kind of faith-healing-preacher - clearly intent on whipping the crowd up into a fever pitch. It was bizarre to witness the cult like behaviour first hand.

A group predictably blocked us - thanks for proving the point of the need for #lesbianvisibility. One young man (the same who let off stink bombs in the Edinburgh university talk last month) backed up by some buddies aggressively grabbed one of our signs

but was prevented from whatever he intended to do next by police. I witnessed a young teenager on a leash. There were at least two men in fetish gear (leather/pup shit), all of which is a-okay at Pride. Lesbian visibility? Not so much.

Once upon a time lesbians and gay men were campaigning to be seen as just like everyone else, that our sexuality wasn't the most interesting thing about us and in the main wasn't worth commenting about. Now, who knows what the fuck has happened. This is not why I spent much of the 90s fighting for LGB rights and acceptance.

LassOfFyvie · 23/06/2019 13:34

There is absolutely revolting stuff on that Pup person's Twitter account.

Outanabout · 23/06/2019 13:48

Remember all the cries of "what does it matter what two adults do in private?". Sane people agreed. Who thought there might be stuff ten times worse than anyone could imagine, and it would be paraded in the street?

DanaPhoenix · 23/06/2019 13:56

Say it with me.

Your. Fetish. Is. Not. A. Sexuality.

I did have a giggle about the fact that this pup thread was directly below the cujo one. That is the only humorous thing in this whole sad and sorry situation.

TowelNumber42 · 23/06/2019 14:21

I agree with him on one thing. An event that is about sexuality isn't one for kids. Sexuality is pushed at children too much as it is.

GoodbyePiccadilly · 23/06/2019 14:35

A few people on Twitter saying it's innocent because they are clothed but this is clearly a sexual thing. They are aroused, or will be later, at the idea of playing puppy games with children.

The boundary now has been crossed in which children are included in fetish play in the open, in front of the police.

This is where postmodernism has taken us; to a place where all the boundaries are blurred and people who think it's wrong to involve children in fetishistic sex games is obviously a bigot.

Teddybear45 · 23/06/2019 14:42

I get the feeling this group is deliberately making a stand that Pride isn’t suitable for kids, by making it unsuitable for kids. There needs to be an official complaint to Pride organisers.

LassOfFyvie · 23/06/2019 15:46

Pupchester's tweets are now protected.

LassOfFyvie · 23/06/2019 15:49

Which , if he or she had done earlier would have avoided my involuntarily seeing pornographic images.

pombear · 23/06/2019 21:11

(Armchair sofa psychology coming up, I know. It's just something that's struck me with the interestingly high number of females who identifiy as males who seem to be into this puppy stuff).

If you're a female who identifies as a male, what better way to wrap your body up, your face, your genitalia, so you can potentially have a better chance of a level playing field at sex with the males?

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 23/06/2019 21:16

They are aroused, or will be later, at the idea of playing puppy games with children.

There was a thread about this in talk which was deleted due to photographs. Anyway, a sharp eyed poster in that thread noted that indeed that ^ was the case....

GrimSisters · 23/06/2019 21:19

Erm, the one on the left in the black shorts is actually aroused.

Fibbke · 23/06/2019 21:21

I agree with him. Pride is about sexuality. Why would you take your kids?

ZebrasAreBras · 23/06/2019 21:43

But if they do think that - why all the kids stuff around? Children's toys, ball pits... plus in one pic they are interacting with children. It's really not OK.

GrumpyCatLives · 23/06/2019 22:26

It's a shame that the AIBU thread was deleted. Most people have no idea that Pride has been taken over. Sad

LassOfFyvie · 23/06/2019 22:35

I didn't see the AIBU thread - why was it deleted?

You can't see Pupchester's tweets any more but I found them disturbing. There was nothing cute about them.

They reminded me of that weird scene at the end of The Shining when Shelley Duvall is halucinating/ seeing ghosts and she sees the person in a bear suit and mask performing fellatio.

AlwaysComingHome · 23/06/2019 22:35

Has anyone seen Happy! on Netflix? It’s looking more and more like a documentary.

WatcherOfTheNight · 23/06/2019 22:38

I don't understand why the other thread was deleted, surely the pics could've been taken down instead ?

LassOfFyvie · 23/06/2019 22:42

If the pictures were what I saw on Pupchester's Twitter account I can understand why they had to go but why should discussion of this be prohibited?

WhyNotMe40 · 23/06/2019 22:55

If pride is not suitable for children then the organisers need to make sure that for eg children living in nearby residences are able to look out of their own windows and see this stuff, and not park pride right next to a children's playground , as happe ed with our local pride.
