This isn't some long ago "oh it was in the past" incident (not that that would make it any better).

This was the police being called to what sounds very like a domestic incident last friday. Right in the middle of the campaign of Boris " the favourite" Johnson to become Prime Minister.

What the actual fuck?

I can't stand Boris Johnson. But there isn't any evidence that he's violent towards women. Think of the number of ex-wives and girlfriends he has: none of them has ever said he was violent towards them. This sounds very much like a case of two people having an extremely heated domestic argument.

I wouldn't be entirely surprised if the reason he hasn't said anything so far is that he's considering his options and wondering if he can persuade his ex-wife to take him back.

KTara · 23/06/2019 18:12

Well, he was an idiot to leave his wife. Whether she will take him back is another matter, of course.

merrymouse · 23/06/2019 18:14

she was asking Boris Johnson to leave. He was not doing this

Yes, this is the thing that stands out.

HelenaDove · 23/06/2019 18:15

KTara this months Good Housekeeping has an article about coercive control written by Bel Mooney Halfway through it thats what she said. That women can be abusers too.

But she does give the stats for it and its a LOT less.

Whosorrynow · 23/06/2019 18:34

of course women can be abusive, but men have far greater opportunity to abuse and dominate women

Caucho · 23/06/2019 18:48

She can’t even go back to her own home now because of wanker protestors outside. That’s a nice way to treat a woman who some people are saying was subject to domestic abuse

HelenaDove · 23/06/2019 18:49

Completely agree.

Bel Mooney then gave an example by writing an example from a letter she received from a man. But having worked for a sex chatline it sounded remarkably like the cuckold fantasy letters i used to get. Im not saying thats deffo the case but it was almost word for word.

HelenaDove · 23/06/2019 18:51

That last post was to @Whosorrynow and @KTara

But those protesters should realize the flat is owned by Carrie.

HelenaDove · 23/06/2019 19:11

@stucknoue In the case of housing association tenants, they are routinely asked to record any noise issues. Not just to keep a diary.

Caucho · 23/06/2019 20:29

She’s been told to fuck off to Kensington or Chelsea as she’d be more comfortable there. She’s not welcome in Camberwell apparently. I’m only saying what the protestors are and doubt the whole of Camberwell feel the same way but can understand if she feels uncomfortable living there now and having her next door neighbours there

LizzieSiddal · 23/06/2019 20:42

What male violence?

If you read The Sunday Times today, there are several articles for different people, who have witnessed his violence. Kicking things, screaming at people and once thumping a table so hard, he thought he’s broken his hand.

He’s a thug.

merrymouse · 23/06/2019 20:44

The protesters are idiots.

HelenaDove · 23/06/2019 20:47

What merrymouse said.

HelenaDove · 23/06/2019 20:48

Lizzie ive seen some of that Someone on Twitter took screenshots

LizzieSiddal · 23/06/2019 20:53

I couldn't believe there there are so many articles on him in one newspaper. All eye witness accounts from journos or those who’ve worked with him, all saying how unsuitable he is.

I hate Hunt for what he’s done to the NHS but he seems to be the lesser of two evils. I can’t believe I’m typing that!

AnotherNightWatering · 23/06/2019 21:40

Yes, I can't believe I'm regretting Gove being eliminated!

SarahPickles · 23/06/2019 22:12

You have to wonder about a man who chooses a girlfriend who is half his size and young enough to be his daughter.

Power.

Whosorrynow · 23/06/2019 22:17

Sleazy old man more like

usernamealreadytaken · 23/06/2019 22:55

So is Brigitte Macron a sleazy old woman then?

merrymouse · 23/06/2019 23:04

So is Brigitte Macron a sleazy old woman then?

As far as we know she has been married twice, was unfaithful to her first husband but has been happily married to Emmanuel Macron for 12 years.

Doesn't really compare to Boris "won't confirm how many children I have" Johnson. It's not clear that he would have made this relationship public if it hadn't been revealed by the press.

Perhaps more importantly, she isn't likely to be the next British PM.

Justhadathought · 23/06/2019 23:34

What male violence?Wasn't she the one who was shrieking and throwing glasses and plates around?Women can be thugs as well and they are perfectly capable of being violent towards men. A lot of domestic violence is done by women. It's just more hidden

Whatever the case, his characteristics behaviours are not indicative of someone of sound and stable judgment. That he has shacked up with a much younger woman; leaving his wife; and has form for this kind of stuff is not a good sign.

I happen to think that the personal is political, no matter what the Boris campaign would have us believe. Can't for the life of me see the attraction in him - apart from that kind of 'Trumpian' anti-establishment kind of figure.

But at least Trump built an empire...what has Boris ever done outside of politics, and carousing around Oxford in his Bullingdon days?

Justhadathought · 23/06/2019 23:38

You have to wonder about a man who chooses a girlfriend who is half his size and young enough to be his daughter

I think many older men choose younger women, not only for the physical attraction, but out of emotional and relational immaturity. Younger women often 'look up' to the older man and that is obviously flattering - in the short term.

BlackForestCake · 23/06/2019 23:44

Trump didn't build an empire, he inherited it from his dad.

OccasionalKite · 24/06/2019 00:39

BlackForestCake, Yes, a very important point:

Trump didn't build an empire, he inherited it from his dad.
