Mermaids has apparently put lots of confidential data online including private emails, personal data and emails demonstrating the pressure they have put on the Tavistock.
Andrew Gilligan article - share token:

Ta for share.

Well that is a read

JackyHolyoake · 15/06/2019 18:55

This is one of those times when "What The Fuck?" is fully justified.

Ali1cedowntherabbithole · 15/06/2019 19:00

Incredible. SG seems to be unraveling and making desperate gestures.

The national lottery need to look at this again.

terfsandwich · 15/06/2019 19:03

Lying has worked for them in the past.

BessyK · 15/06/2019 19:03

Wow, I didn't think that they could sink any lower.

OrchidInTheSun · 15/06/2019 19:03

Wow. They truly are not fit for purpose. And Green is supposed to be a bloody IT consultant!

AwdBovril · 15/06/2019 19:06

That link isn't working for me. Does anyone else have an issue accessing it?

FannyCann · 15/06/2019 19:06

Oh my. This is up there with the exposing of MP's expenses. Fresh air. Clean fresh air.
Thank you Andrew and The Times. (and the OP for the share - I'll buy a copy tomorrow).

FlibbertyGiblets · 15/06/2019 19:08

Omg.

Whomever said Kids Club Mark Two weren't far off, huh.

AwdBovril · 15/06/2019 19:10

Oh it's ok now. Wow I'm only part way through... pretty damning stuff.

RedDogsBeg · 15/06/2019 19:10

How many more dangerous and dodgy practices of this so-called Charity have to be exposed before action is taken against it?

Andrew Gilligan - thank you and may you, The Times and Janice Turner long continue to expose this and other scandals.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 15/06/2019 19:10

appears to have thought she had set up a private email group, using a common webmail platform, to share information with her trustees. But she, or Mermaids, had failed to read her group’s homepage which said that its “archives are visible to everyone”.

Isn’t themself supposed to the an IT person 😂

Popchyk · 15/06/2019 19:12

God.

Just so many issues there.

Good to know that some parents are questioning the cult though.

Susie Green's reaction is just to keep repeatedly lying, despite irrefutable evidence.

"Alongside the client emails were hundreds of often revealing internal ones showing trustees’ concerns about Green’s leadership, accusations from parents that Mermaids felt like a “cult” and alcohol problems at residential weekends putting children “at risk”.

The "residentials" have always bothered me. I have a feeling that there is more to come on that.

Good that some parents are now speaking up.

Hope they sue.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 15/06/2019 19:14

That’s quite cheered me up. So often articles pussy foot around and suck up to these people - missing any critical information or comments.

We need strong sunlight shone on any institution - especially those dealing with vulnerable people and those in receipt of funding/charitable status.

RedDogsBeg · 15/06/2019 19:14

It's far worse than Kids Company, Mermaids have their insidious tentacles in the Police, Schools, Civil Service, etc. Where is the due diligence?

Chrysanthemum5 · 15/06/2019 19:14

Wow that's actually shocking (and I didn't think I could be shocked anymore by Mermaids/SG).

ElektraUnchained · 15/06/2019 19:15

Interesting to see The Times rebut every one of the minimisations around the data breach.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 15/06/2019 19:15

Kids Company was just amateur hour with management who was woefully incompetent. This lot are a whole different kettle of fish.

FlibbertyGiblets · 15/06/2019 19:15

It is awful to think that families' private correspondences have been aired, desperately sad for them to have their privacy breached so cruelly, so upsetting.

Kilbranan · 15/06/2019 19:16

Omg surely the lottery funding has to be reconsidered now - what a disgrace

FlibbertyGiblets · 15/06/2019 19:16

yy Ekektra.

GrinitchSpinach · 15/06/2019 19:17

That’s a blockbuster right there. Wow.

JessicaWakefieldSV · 15/06/2019 19:22

Oh my fucking god Shock this is seriously damaging. How awful for those who trusted them.

FannyCann · 15/06/2019 19:23

Exactly Red Not to mention permanent life changing physical damage to children and teens. Anyone who thinks differently needs to look at the trans train video and hear the story of poor Sametti and Mika, bitter and angry at the lie they were sold and the lifelong effects they suffer.

JessicaWakefieldSV · 15/06/2019 19:23

The "residentials" have always bothered me. I have a feeling that there is more to come on that.

Think you might be right there...
