Mermaids has apparently put lots of confidential data online including private emails, personal data and emails demonstrating the pressure they have put on the Tavistock.
Andrew Gilligan article - share token:

Can someone post a link to the cache (or pm it to me) please? I can't find it.

missedith01 · 15/06/2019 21:20

One of the comments sums it all up:

^ "Green, an IT consultant, has no medical training."

Very little IT expertise either it would appear. ^

OrchidInTheSun · 15/06/2019 21:21

I can imagine how much it hurt to type 'We are grateful to the Sunday Times for bringing it to our attention'

Cwenthryth · 15/06/2019 21:21

Nevermind - I found it. It's all cached online. HORRIFYING.

What can you still see the data, archived? (Non-techie here)

Mermaids trustees statement online directly contradicts statements in the article about personal emails being leaked

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 15/06/2019 21:22

How in all of goddess can they call it transphobic to report on a data breach?

They're fucking crackers.

RedDogsBeg · 15/06/2019 21:23

This is child abuse, grooming and indoctrination writ large and is being actively encouraged by the overseeing bodies that should be preventing this, it is hideous and terrifying in equal measure - the EHRC that is so bloody sinister.

Mermaids just had to get in a 'transphobic' dig, they cannot abide criticism much like all the others in thrall to this pervasive, damaging ideology - looking at you Girl Guides and NSPCC.

NeurotrashWarrior · 15/06/2019 21:26

Always knew the residential weekends we're going to be an issue,

MrsDumpty · 15/06/2019 21:26

All public websites get snapshotted at various points over their existence and archived - this is a cache.

Even once you delete a website the caches remain as publicly accessible as they were previously.

It's how everyone was able to find the NSPCC wanker's masturbation videos etc

AnthonyCrowley · 15/06/2019 21:28

daily mail article on it

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 15/06/2019 21:28

I'm pretty sure those residentials covered all age groups too...

Insertwitticismhere · 15/06/2019 21:28

Regardless of circumstances, context or misrepresentation in this latest hostile and transphobic article, we are deeply sorry.

Even data protection is transphobic now!?
Really hope this results in greater scrutiny but, like others, I won't be holding my breath!

AyeRobot · 15/06/2019 21:29

SG is shit at her actual job as well! That doesn't surprise me.

I was talking with some friends at lunch today about imposter syndrome and all that and we mentioned about the fact that people who appear so confident and certain in the face of situations where there is nuance or unsettled fact should never, ever, be trusted. SG is another for my bank of proof. (in that, imposter syndrome comes about partly because we come across charlatans and doubt our uncertainty)

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 15/06/2019 21:31

daily mail article on it

"It is important to note that the email group in question was in a very obscure online location and the charity's name was not included in its title."

But as "Mermaids" + charity number brings it up is is obvious that the publicly available emails were indexed. This searching in any of the individuals.names would also bring up.the emails for example.

LangCleg · 15/06/2019 21:31

I honestly cannot trust myself to type a comment.

NeurotrashWarrior · 15/06/2019 21:33

This is all part of the SAME thing, it's the SAME pedophile ring, it's been there since the 70's, it's the same silence, the same control, it's still going on, Savile was ONE member of a massive paedophile ring that extended into government.

What do you mean?

I'm pretty sure those residentials covered all age groups too.

Yes they did, over a certain age - 14?16? Could stay on their own.

People from the Tavistock were invited to speak and would unofficially talk to parents. Other speakers are invited too - we can only hazard a guess at who.

pombear · 15/06/2019 21:33

From the Mermaids statement Mermaids understand that the information could not be found unless the person searching for the information was already aware that the information could be found.

Reading that feels like being trapped in an Escher staircase of inconsistency.
Mermaids: But, but, you couldn't find that unless you knew you could find it

Times: yep, we knew it was there
Mermaids: But, but, you'd only know it was there if you knew it was there
Times: erm, "journalism"

Aka in my personal world: 'you what now?''

And Regardless of circumstances, context or misrepresentation in this latest hostile and transphobic article, we are deeply sorry And reading that feels like a hearing a toddler grudgingly apologising for eating the whole cake despite the context being they were told not to eat the cake, the cake was for someone else, I thought it was my cake, Ok, sorry, hurgh.

Hostile - Mermaids translation = critical of our processes
Transphobic - Mermaids translation = critical of our processes

Yeahnahyeah · 15/06/2019 21:34

Just found this post in AIBU from a poster who went down the Twitter Hole. Does anyone know more on this?

Just saw that an NSPCC evaluation officer is confirmed to be a follower of the paedophile organisation.

SunsetBeetch · 15/06/2019 21:35

I'm having a break from twitter for my own sanity, but I wonder how the usual suspects are spinning this one?

NeurotrashWarrior · 15/06/2019 21:35

There is no transparency with mermaids

They have closed Internet forums for parents, and I believe yp. You need a passport and prof of address to gain access, I can understand they want privacy and it's details of children's mh - which is a by this breach is shocking - but it's also very secret.

Who is monitoring content?

Cult.

NeurotrashWarrior · 15/06/2019 21:36

Just saw that an NSPCC evaluation officer is confirmed to be a follower of the paedophile organisation.

Shock

Can you link the AIBU please?

JoyceJeffries · 15/06/2019 21:37

It must be a living nightmare having a child with gender dysphoria. You turn to Mermaids for support and it seems to be run by a bunch of incompetent half wits who have no clue about safe guarding, GDPR etc. It needs closed down before it harms anymore children.

OrchidInTheSun · 15/06/2019 21:38

groups.io isn't exactly a secret thing is it? I've heard of it and I'm not especially techy

RubyViolet · 15/06/2019 21:38

It’s looking like Mermaids have a whistleblower. How would anyone just stumble on this .
