What with Debbie Hayton's article in the TES, TRAs have issued twitter orders that looking things up on Transgender Trend must stop immediately.

There has been an All Ports warning that the more you visit the website, the more it rises up the google rankings, and knocks other transgender websites off their perches. This is erasure, they say.

Now do as you are told. Stop driving by Transgender Trend at least once a day, if not more, and ruining things.

Google also really likes it when you visit more than one page on a website, particularly if you click on internal links and stay on them for a decent amount of time, say a minute.

It does. And I’ll tell you what else impresses Google. When it sees that a high-ranking site like Mumsnet has a lot of links to another site and that lots of people are clicking on them. That’s called passing on link juice.

BlackeyedGruesome · 15/05/2019 22:26

So many links, so much clicking accidentally as one scrolls.

Binglebong · 15/05/2019 23:51

Obviously you should also avoid doing generally transgender searches (rather than transgender trend) and scrolling down to find the link you want. And definitely don't stay on the TT page, should you be foolish enough to end up on there, for longer to show that it is a quality link that will rank higher. Or go to other pages on the website for the same reason.

Oncewasblueandyellowtwo · 16/05/2019 00:02

BlackeyedGruesome
What link are you talking about? Is it this one?
do not click on this link to transgendertrend
I've heard you're not supposed to click on it.

GetOffMyTERF · 16/05/2019 00:03

I just slipped whilst holding my phone, and accidentally googled The Forbidden Place. On three different search engines.

Don't go and try to click the empty space there.

Needmoresleep · 16/05/2019 07:45

Oh no, the warning came too late.

It took me through to an interesting website. So interesting that I needed to click on each and every page.

R0wantrees · 16/05/2019 08:15

Did this order go off when the excellent new resources were put up onto the home page?

Safeguarding Concerns (free to download pdf)
www.transgendertrend.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/Safeguarding_Concerns_web.pdf

Children’s Rights Impact Assessment:
Allsorts Trans Inclusion Schools
Toolkit (free to dowload pdf)
www.transgendertrend.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/CRIA-Toolkitweb.pdf

Obviously very important to some people to limit others' knowledge of Safeguading, Childen's Rights, law etc Hmm

Redshoeblueshoe · 16/05/2019 10:07

Errol that was genius Grin

(Shakes head, sadly). You are not getting the hang of this order, are you?

There are to be NO QUESTIONS.

Repeat after me:

I know nothing about the new safeguarding resources at TrXns GXndXr TrXnd. I haven't been there and I won't go there until TRA Command tell me that it is safe to do so

Now watch yourselves and mind how you go.

I shall offer to try but I was one of those children who insisted on asking, 'why?' and would definitely always go and look when told 'forbidden just because I say so'

theOtherPamAyres you may have to prepare for continued disappointment. Cake

Turns out 4thwave isn't a beach rating site! Has many research links though.

BlackeyedGruesome · 16/05/2019 12:30

@Oncewasblueandyellowtwo

Angry Yes that's the one with the article that I accidently clicked on as well.

I would have told you earlier but forgot myself and read for several minutes.

BlackeyedGruesome · 16/05/2019 12:32

must be something to do with surfing then? somebody check for me. pleeeeeeeeeeassssse

EmpressLesbianInChair · 16/05/2019 12:49

I've just checked 4thwavenow.com/ for you, BlackeyedGruesome. It's not a surfing site but it does have a beautiful under-the-sea picture and lots of interesting articles.

QueenSock · 17/05/2019 03:30

I had to google it, just to see if it wasn't taken down, or anything.

It's still there, but I think I need to google it again this afternoon and tomorrow just to see that the site is still up. Otherwise, how will we know not to google it, if it's not there? It's like one of those deep, philosophical post-modernism thought conundrums.

Voice0fReason · 17/05/2019 22:40

Oh I wish I'd realised earlier, I spent ages googling transgender school resources earlier!
Will try to remember that I shouldn't keep doing that.

EmpressLesbianInChair · 18/05/2019 06:41

Oh blimey Voice.

I hope you didn’t look at www.transgendertrend.com/transgender-schools-guidance/ when you were googling transgender school resources.

Needmoresleep · 18/05/2019 10:01

Google are not helping. When I open my browser it lists www.transgendertrend.com/ as one of my frequently visited sites along with GMail, Amazon etc. I have been checking and it is seems to be the site I am not supposed to visit.

Google stop it!

ohfuckoffalready · 18/05/2019 18:41

Out of interest, does anyone have access to Moz or another SEO tool? I used to have it at work, and it tells you how certain sites generally rank by keywords.

pancaketosser · 19/05/2019 18:06

Phew, it's a good job I saw this!
