I can’t believe what I’ve just watched. Eddie Izzard is on Joe Rogan saying ALL bathrooms should be gender neutral and completely dismissed the concerns women have that Joe brought up. He dismissed it as “people always complain when there’s change”

The whole thing is so selfish and entitled.

The men mostly going to the extreme with so called equality are mostly left wing types!

Trump supporters love the chance to undermine womens rights with this faux equality rubbish; they are not left wing.

I used to love him too but I am so cynical of his actions now. Taking part in politics he is always dressed as a woman but on the promotional posters for his comedy tours or promoting his film roles on the red carpet he presents as a man. He is basically happy to exploit his male privilege to the maximum and has no problem trodding all over women as he does so.

I've said before - when he was filmed in the Yemen for that charity ad he fronts, he is unequivocally dressed and presented as a man.

I feel unnerved. I really liked Eddie Izzard. I thought I had a pretty good bullshit detector. I was wrong.

So, he thinks that young girls going through puberty don't need to have a separate space in which to deal with starting periods etc. He thinks he's more important than their desire for single sex spaces.

Ignoring all research and evidence that forcing mixed sex spaces will mean girls don't go to school.

It's actually worrying that someone in politics can just completely disregard women from patriarchal religions and just casually give away their access to toilets in public. Surely someone wanting to be an MP/MEP etc should be aware of the needs of their potential constituents. That's before coming to how little everyone else wants unisex toilets.

I hate the shared individual gender neutral toilets too - I have to sit on a toilet to change my tampon etc where there are wee splatters on the floor, and the seat is left up, so I can’t put my bag down to get stuff out and I have to touch the toilet seat first. Gross.

Public toilets

It was Eddy Izzard who had a run in with some teenage girls in a female public toilet. They chased him down the road. It obviously still rankles.

It also, as an aside, creates yet more work for women. DD was getting to an age where she can go to the loo alone when we're out. Not now though. I always go with her.
