I can’t believe what I’ve just watched. Eddie Izzard is on Joe Rogan saying ALL bathrooms should be gender neutral and completely dismissed the concerns women have that Joe brought up. He dismissed it as “people always complain when there’s change”

The whole thing is so selfish and entitled.

I dread nightclubs becoming unisex. When you add drunken males into the equation behaviour gets a lot worse.

My DS has open plan gender neutral toilets at school, he refuses to use them as he is too embarrassed that people walking past, especially girls would hear sound effects.
My DH has a shy bladder, it literally clamps shut if he feels self conscious, he can't even go at home if he thinks I'm within earshot, there's no way he would use mixed sex toilets, it was really bad at one point and he had to have CBT on the NHS as it restricted the amount of time he could spend out of the house. I'm sure there are others similarly afflicted.

There's a particular type of man who is determined that women and girls must share toilets and changing rooms with him. He's precisely the sort of man who should not be allowed anywhere near girls or women when they are vulnerable / undressing.

It's time that this was made very clear.

Same here. I was disappointed when John Clees turned out to be a boring, whiney sexist but to see Eddie Izzard revealed as not only a sexist and misogynist but also a man who thinks women's rights are his to give away - that's grim.

At 49 I've decided that men are just horrible, horrible selfish, egotistical, manipulative cu&ts. They only think of themselves and they have no empathy for anyone.

Which only people with penises ever indulge in, because this kind of self indulgent wankery isn't tolerated by women or in women, and the massive majority of women don't have the time to spare from disproportionate domestic and caring responsibilities. And people born without penises tend to have an awareness and sense of responsibility for the impact of their behaviour on others, and so limit their own 'self expression' and dumping all over others. Women just fight like hell with their GP for years, usually unsuccessfully, trying to get HRT to deal with the major physical ailments caused by their own mid life.

Most mid life crises dump all over partners and children. Sadly Izzard has the whole media by which he can dump over women and children.

Recently had the pleasure of mixed sex toilets at a conference where women were less than. 10% of the attendees and I was having very heavy period. One trendy sink to share.. Me washing blood off my hands. Great! Thanks. Definitely felt progressive. Really want that to be the professional image I give out to other colleagues when networking.

Massively disappointed with Joe Rogan too. Have watched quite a lot of his interviews, and he's usually pretty good about calling out the bullshit and lack of any rigorous thought.

If I'm honest, I'm coming to the conclusion that any man who's so insistent that women should be forced to use mixed sex toilet facilities is just a creep, pervert or deeply dislikes and disrespects women. Or possibly all three.

I'd love for there to be a new planet discovered or for a massive piece of uninhabited land to be taken over by women who would then invite other women to join them. I'd be off like a shot. It would be full of mostly 40- something women who are WOKE, as in they thought they needed a man but suddenly realised in their 40's that they are better off surrounded by supportive women.

Maybe I misunderstood what he said - but I think he meant that all toilets should be enclosed cubicles, single room, floor to ceiling door/walls, toilet, mirror, sink, like most disabled toilets.

I can't object to these being unisex, just like disabled or train/plane toilets. I also think this is much safer all round than flimsy stalls in an isolated room.

If that's what he means, what's the basis for objecting?

There's no age limit. A lot of younger women think they need men and most wont realise it till they are middle aged.

A friend was in the loo at Selfridges and was surprised to see Eddie getting dressed by the sinks. She says his boobs are certainly surgically enhanced.

They’re not safer in men use them too, and certainly if men use them as well they’re not cleaner. Women like to gather in bathrooms with other women, I don’t see why we should change that to suit a tiny portion of the population.
