Absolute disgrace. Absolute fucking disgrace.

OP posts:

I've had countless arguments with women..

Yeah I bet you have, mate.

ThunderStorms · 01/05/2019 10:25

I am only looking at this thread, not search8ng for others.

Surely we all educate each other?

The word is obviously only just getting out to the 'wider public'. Even if some people have been saying it for years.

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 01/05/2019 10:32

You are at perfect liberty to react as you choose. However those of us who have encountered a steady stream of MRAs on these boards over a number of years know all too well what a waste of time engaging with these fuckers is.

You do realise that these cuckoos only turn up to educate us, don't you?

ThunderStorms · 01/05/2019 10:34

Yes, but while you may only be engaging with the GF, there are 100s or lurkers reading and taking note. They see name calling and they switch off (maybe even from feminism), they see facts and they can take note. That’s how the message is slowly getting out there.

S1naidSucks · 01/05/2019 10:35

Dhalandchips Will you let it be known why you’re withdrawing? I can understand why you wouldn’t, with all the threats of violence, name calling, etc.

FloralBunting · 01/05/2019 10:38

Not even remotely sorry for calling an MRA an MRA. Or saying that someone who has won a woman's record is not a woman. You can report this post and have it deleted too if you want.

Could not care less if you think I'm not being nice enough about the males who think that they can take women's acheivements or dismiss our existence as irrelevant.

Getting extremely sick of people coming here and simpering about the other posters not behaving correctly. It's FWR - Feminism and Women's Rights. Not a fucking finishing school.

Beachcomber · 01/05/2019 10:41

Waste of time and women's energy engaging with an MRA. They don't want "educating" they want to goad women and disrupt our thoughtful conversations with each other.

Most of the ones I've come across rub their hairy hands in glee when women earnestly try to "educate" them.

ThunderStorms · 01/05/2019 10:45

But FloralBunting, I don’t disagree with what you’re saying. Except that I think naming callling does more harm than good to the message you're (we're) trying to spread.

I’ll back out now because there doesn’t seem much point taking up thread space.

AGoodWench · 01/05/2019 10:46

What a mad world.

ThunderStorms · 01/05/2019 10:48

Last post (!) Inknow MRA don’t want educating. But there are others (lurkers) that read these threads. They either stay and listen to the message or they see name calling and unpleasantness, take a step further away feminism and leave. I’m sure this is why so many women say they are not feminists. The message is lost behind name calling.

FloralBunting · 01/05/2019 10:55

Oh my fucking God. Please, I know you have said that you aren't going to look at other threads, but if you ever can be bothered, take a look through my history and see how many times I have used the phrase 'this is for the lurkers'.

I am very mindful of those who read and absorb what goes on here. And do you know why that leads me to point out obvious MRA and other Anti-woman Activists? Because women need to know they don't have to cossett that kind of oppressive git and can quite legitimately tell them to go away and stop wasting time. Sometimes it's an extremely important public service to point out to other women reading that a poster is motivated by something altogether darker than wide eyed curiosity.

GirlDownUnder · 01/05/2019 11:02

they see name calling and unpleasantness, take a step further away feminism and leave.

I actually think the opposite happens. There are several threads of mainly lurkers who just come on to say and go back to lurking. They are only less vocal here because they don't trust their own voices yet.

I lurked for ages, and started off with just one or two posts to test my self and gain confidence in my own voice (and still get it wrong!) but what the 'name calling' showed me was that I did not have to pander, be polite, or even respect another user when their agenda is so clear.

Massive learning curve for a people pleaser - and I think most women are socialised to please. Really lovely not to!

GirlDownUnder · 01/05/2019 11:03

... come on to say hi

Important missing word!

Datun · 01/05/2019 11:03

I'm endorsing that comment wholeheartedly FloralBunting.

It was eye-opening to me to watch the sloughing off of women's socialisation in action, on these boards.

Really enlightening.

And, as ever, the enlightenment mostly came from the reaction, not the action.

Watching men lose their shit because a woman isn't walking on eggshells around them, particularly as it happens so bloody often. And is depressingly predictable.

It's also pretty much like falling off a log. Just put one foot out of line.

But what's really depressing is watching other women, fearful women, telling you you shouldn't be doing it.

Langrish · 01/05/2019 11:04

No shit, Sherlock.

SophoclesTheFox · 01/05/2019 11:54

I compete in sport too, and if I do come up against a male competitor, I’m not throwing in the towel, I’m dampening it and flicking it at peoples bums. I won’t go quietly!

PushkarKali · 01/05/2019 12:02

I'm coming out of lurking to say that the "name calling" doesn't put me off at all. I've watched Twitter appalled at the assault on women's rights to even name themselves as women. We are being redefined out of existence as a sex. I think we're way past appeals to nice.

Dhalandchips · 01/05/2019 12:05

Yes, I'll have to. It will terrify me but if it's good enough for Martina....

FloralBunting · 01/05/2019 12:14

And can I just point out that in a situation where the issues under discussion are males pushing out females from sport and other things and children being lied to and medicated unnecessarily and a whole list of really horrendous things, there are people who are coming on FWR to tell us that if we don't behave nicely, no one will care about all those obviously wrong things.

Seriously. I suggest in the strongest terms that if your first thought when women discuss misogyny and the inventively disgusting ways men oppress women is that the women are using language which isnt sufficiently pleasant or 'neutral', your priorities are about as fucked up as they can be.

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 01/05/2019 12:16

I and many other regulars argue very much with lurkers in mind. However I think it's helpful to lurkers to see that women don't have to put up with MRA shit. MRAs are, sadly, ten a penny.

The situation with TRAs is slightly different. Courteous debate is often a very effective tactic to expose the complete absence of logic in TRA claims. Nearly all of us started out feeling sympathetic to men with gender dysphoria. But trans ideology isn't about individuals. It's a homophobic and misogynist movement, and the easiest way to reveal this is by watching what TRAs themselves say.

Genderfreelass · 01/05/2019 12:21

I just hope when the madness ends all the cheats records are erased and the women's records reinstated.

I really do believe it will end eventually but just hope it is sooner rather than later. I hope it doesn't get to the point where it is elite mens sport and mediocre mens spirt before that happens.

I do wonder with the fact a male is likely to be in one of the Olympic volleyball teams if viewing figures will drop. A drop in viewing will mean a drop in future funding and possibly questions being asked.

Datun · 01/05/2019 12:42

Yes. And after exposing the lack of logic, often they get angry, which, in turn, exposes the rank misogyny.

At which point they tend to get banned for uncontrollable behaviour.

SeaWitchly · 01/05/2019 13:08

Hear hear Floral and Datun!

GassyAss · 01/05/2019 13:43

@genderfreelass I've always suspected the obvious MTF athletes in the next Olympics will peak trans the entire globe. As much as I hate to think about the female althetes who will be denied places in Toyko by these people, it might be the ultimate sacrifice to inact a change in policy. Short term pain for long term gain and all that.

Genderfreelass · 01/05/2019 14:23

@gassyass for the madness to end sadly I think straight men need to want it to end. Hence women's volleyball possibly being key - it is very popular viewing with straight men, maybe even more so than the men's volleyball! Not to put to finer a point on it they enjoy watching tightly clad bottoms and will not appreciate them being replaced by hairy assed dudes!
