I just cannot believe that this person works in a university. It is almost impossible to get an academic job these days and yet this person does? Just how?

GCAcademic I wondered too. But there are plenty of fairly tin-pot colleges in the US. And I suspect that they got the job before transitioning. Masculine privilege, and the confidence of the mediocre white man.

I find it amazing that the university doesn't have a problem with McKinnon's violently aggressive tweets bringing the university into disrepute, but also - would you let your child go and study under someone who acts like this, flying off the handle and screaming capitalised abuse on Twitter?

Actually that's a very interesting point Howyouall. How does MK, with MK's tendency to narc rage, handle students who disagree in seminars (and remember the discipline MK identifies as teaching is philosophy, where rational argument and disputation are key elements)?

Most likely LadyLazarus40 women clock McKinnon as 1) a man, and 2) a man who has a sense of entitlement and a very short fuse. Women will be seeking to avoid interacting with McKinnon for the most basic of reasons.

nauticant totally, my thoughts exactly and they are expressing surprise to avoid hurting feelings (female socialisation) and avoiding finding themselves in a threatening situation (I imagine they aren’t guilty of non knowing who RMK is and their reputation as a bit of a bully).

I couldn’t actually believe I was seeing it.

Nobody would be shocked to learn that person is trans. My DH and his IT colleagues looked at the photo of them on the podium next to two actual female athletes and laughed, literally laughed, at the delusion, but were shocked that everyone allowed that to happen. Certain people may think nobody saying anything in a women’s bathroom means they pass, but it really means women are afraid of them and are too fearful to say anything. They make women fearful and show off about that on Twitter. How disgusting.

Someone should tag Joe Rogan, he just had twitter people on his show and questioned them about their T & C’s being based on ideology, and the banning of some people and not others, he’d be real interested in Linda Riley’s involvement in the reinstatement of Mckinnon. Apparently Rogan follows Zuby, so even getting Zuby to retweet some of this would be good.
