Apparently telling women to 'die in a grease fire' is hate speech. Who knew?

Have a great weekend everyone!!

It’s very weird behaviour.

Anyone who sees these tweets must be like wow is that an adult person behaving like that

FermatsTheorem · 30/03/2019 11:04

Zutt - my god, that video from 8 minutes in to 10.20, describing the faculty meeting. It's got overtones of the cultural revolution! (And reminds me of James Kirkup's comments about MPs approaching him to say they are GC in private, but won't stick their heads above the parapet in public).

There's a thread about regulatory capture which has dropped off the front page, but is a really, really vital read.

nauticant · 30/03/2019 11:04

I'm still gobsmacked by the Evergreen story ZuttZeVootEeeVro. Have you watched ? It's even worse than part 1. At times I was tempted to close the window and try to forget what I'd seen.

I assume part 3 is still being produced.

ZuttZeVootEeeVro · 30/03/2019 11:09

McKinnon does not pass as a woman

I don't think they have any intention of passing. They want to be seen as they are, changing the definition of what is women and female. It's all about their power compared to the power women have.

ZuttZeVootEeeVro · 30/03/2019 11:19

nauticant. I think it deserves a thread of its own, but I suppose it's not about feminism.

It was a painful watch, seeing a cult work in reality.

One of the parts that struck me was the idea that questioning, or asking for examples of racism were classed as racist acts. It's as if they didn't want any other solution to be found other that the equity policy.

I'll look out for part 3.

AnyFucker · 30/03/2019 11:44

I think you are right zutt

Erasing what it means to be a woman is the goal

Ereshkigal · 30/03/2019 11:45

I don't think they have any intention of passing. They want to be seen as they are, changing the definition of what is women and female. It's all about their power compared to the power women have.

Exactly. Just like McKinnon thinks it's transphobic to have any testosterone requirements at all in women's sports.

kesstrel · 30/03/2019 11:46

Re the issue of tenure: McKinnon is listed as an assistant professor on the college website. That would normally mean non-tenured - it's the lowest grade of American 'professor' status. Curious about where have people seen discussion of this?

Lymphy · 30/03/2019 12:09

Straight from the horses mouth

What was it ? "You...you thought this would end well for you???"

I actually can't stop laughing. It's the archetypal pantomime villain.

It just needs a spot of moustache twirling.

Datun · 30/03/2019 12:35

Add you've got to hand it to those kiwis. They said this would happen, they predicted every single stage.

And it's gone like clockwork.

As soon as McKinnon got tenure the sense of invincibility would allow their true self to burst forth from the shackles.

And it has, spectacularly. Like a previous poster, I can't help oscillating between finding it wildly entertaining and deeply disturbing.

Ruru8thestars · 30/03/2019 12:41

Holy god

clitherow · 30/03/2019 12:42

nauticant. I think it deserves a thread of its own, but I suppose it's not about feminism.

I agree with this, and, I would add, that it is about feminism if you watch the video, and when you see the white vice-chancellor, or whatever he is, using equality to further a different agenda that is not quite clear,

ask how much is he representative of a certain section of the male intelligentsia that has used feminism itself to further their own ends in dismantling a system of which they want to take control. Once feminism has done its job then dissenting women will be are being thrown under the bus. So, women got the pill developed by men, for men, widespread abortion because men wanted it and so on. I daresay this will not be a popular view and I am not saying that women haven't struggled for their rights but that this struggle has been used as part of a wider agenda, exactly like the Evergreen story which is just a microcosm.

Some of the first handmaidens were the Bloomsbury Group and Virginia Woolf who provided a nice outlet for the women-hating secret society, The Cambridge Apostles.

Ereshkigal · 30/03/2019 13:06

Add you've got to hand it to those kiwis. They said this would happen, they predicted every single stage.

They always see it.

Sexnotgender · 30/03/2019 13:21

No way would I send my child to whatever university gave that loon tenure.

spottyswat · 30/03/2019 13:22

Who are the kiwis?

Sexnotgender · 30/03/2019 13:26

I’m guessing kiwi farms?

Knicknackpaddyflak · 30/03/2019 14:00

Ah. So Twitter bans women for pointing out reality but trans people can make violent death threats and demonstrate psychotic violent fantasies and that's all just fine.

Ok. So what have we learned about who has power and who doesn't, and so is oppressed? And about this 'most oppressed in all the world ever' thing constantly being chanted and waved around as one of a number of delusional mantras in an attempt to brain wash people out of reality?

I agree. Hand McKinnon a megaphone and let the insanity roll.

Datun · 30/03/2019 14:01

Kiwi farms yes.

Analysts, yes. Feminists? Nooo. 🤣

ZuttZeVootEeeVro · 30/03/2019 14:46

Ok. So what have we learned about who has power and who doesn't, and so is oppressed?

I think they may have changed the meaning of 'oppressed'. I can't think who is expecting labour from male transpeople, (although i see lots of heavy lifting expected from transmen) and with the ear of politicians, public services providers and the media, I can't see how their voices arent heard or their wants accommodated.

kesstrel · 30/03/2019 15:02

Thanks, Lymphy. With regard to RM getting tenure, this post is interesting from RM's twitter. A mention of accommodations for disability, followed by:

Yep, and I'm dealing with a workplace that has granted accommodations and then is holding it against me in my tenure case. Awesome. ...they're in so much shit. 4:10 pm - 27 Jan 2019

LangCleg · 30/03/2019 15:09

Apropos of absolutely nothing at all, I keep imagining a Sandy Draws Badly cartoon in which the wheels of a bike are reproductions of the Duluth Model.

I'm seeing them stroking a white cat while laughing maniacally.

Are they auditioning for panto this year?

Ereshkigal · 30/03/2019 16:06

Die in a fire is not an "idiom". Especially when you start giving details about which type of fire you're thinking about.

When male people tell women who have opinions they disapprove of to die in a fire, that is assuredly "punching down".

JessicaWakefieldSVH · 30/03/2019 16:08

Because having a whole 8,000 twitter followers, most of them young transpeople with no money or sense, means ‘power’ in Mckinnons La La Land fantasy world Hmm
