twitter.com/theblaze/status/1104041585342377986

This is the thread it is on - makes more sense. He is showing outrage at the tweet (along with many others - some really good posts - it may take some time to read but I haven't found any supporting the Blaze post yet)

OVAgroundWOMBlingfree · 11/03/2019 09:33

Yes I thought he was outraged at RMK’s quote.

VladmirsPoutine · 11/03/2019 09:34

Why are you calling him thick AF?

ShatnersWig · 11/03/2019 09:34

I think it's pretty obvious he's expressing outrage at RMKs quote. Actually struggling to see any other explanation personally.

Melroses · 11/03/2019 09:34

Yes I thought he was outraged at RMK’s quote.

Indeed. I got it back to front. It is the sound of a man peaking.

DodoPatrol · 11/03/2019 09:35

Oh dear. 'It's more like excluding cats from Crufts' made me realise how species-phobic I am.

Though my friend's lurcher does seem to identify as a cat.

SlinkyDinkyDoo · 11/03/2019 09:36

I read it as 'WTF you're talking out of your arse'
I

EntirelyAnonymised · 11/03/2019 09:37

I also read that as a ‘WTF, they are in no way alike, you unhinged loon’.

OunceOfFlounce · 11/03/2019 09:37

Love it!

(The tweet? The profile pic? Both?!...it's both Wink)

hackmum · 11/03/2019 09:38

Yes, it's obvious to me that the WTF is expressing outrage at McKinnon's statement that excluding trans women is akin to excluding black women.

Good for Linford! We've now got three men on side - Daley Thompson, Matthew Pinsent and Linford Christie. Just waiting for a few other notables to catch up.

RepealTheGRA · 11/03/2019 09:42

Speaking for us all there Linford ‘wtf’ indeed!

peeree · 11/03/2019 09:43

@Redshoeblueshoe "Isn't it bloody obvious that Linford is saying WTF are you talking about.
I'm not sure how anyone can see it differently"

Completely agree, I can't fathom out how anyone could interpret his reply differently. Poor Linford Christie.

OunceOfFlounce · 11/03/2019 09:44

Oh, I'd missed Matthew Pinsent's contribution. Such a relief that more people are finally speaking out!

ILoveMaxiBondi · 11/03/2019 09:45

I’m very confused about what people are interpreting his “WTF” as meaning? Confused

To me it’s very obvious he means “WTF is this idiot talking about?” He’s very clearly outraged by what RM has said.

What are other people reading it as?

endofthelinefinally · 11/03/2019 09:45

He isn't thick.
I met him years ago.

Melroses · 11/03/2019 09:46

Actually struggling to see any other explanation personally.

I took it as meaning 'WTF how can people discriminate when it is just the same as black women' in the same vein that 'it is just like being gay used to be' or 'it is just like gay marriage' and everyone nodding sagely.

I have come to expect this sort of reaction because it has been the default for so long, and still the sort of answer you would expect from a certain member (or even members) of the house of lords, Fawcett society, Womens and Equality committee etc etc etc.

It is really lovely that it is not. It feels like the sun is coming out and Spring is on its way Smile

buzzbobbly · 11/03/2019 09:46

He appears to be a man of very few Tweets, so my heart sings to see he's commented on this.

BelleHathor · 11/03/2019 09:46

Just read the blaze article and these responses are apt : "He is a white man identifying as a white woman claiming black women are exactly the same as whole ass men who transition! I think the f* not! Take that racist and anti women men's rights stuff [somewhere] else cause this good black sis is not buying it!"
"Ah, the racism rampant amongst white trans rears its ugly head yet again. No. There is zero comparison b/w exclusion based on race, and sex-separation b/c of clear male advantage. Your position [would] be cleaner if you argued against sex-separation altogether."
"Black women aren't a subspecies of women. We are not socialized as men. We do not go through puberty as men. We do not live as men. Our bodies are not male. Stop using us as props in your weak arguments. All it does is reveal your own racism."
"Black Women Are Women! Transwomen are a subset of men! Stop with this nonsense! As I black woman it's a false equivalence based on the same bulls**t white supremacy and patriarchy, entitlement that allows men to identify as women."

ContessaIsOnADietDammit · 11/03/2019 09:49

I thought it implied his horror at the statement McKinnon was making.

Threewheeler1 · 11/03/2019 09:49

ILoveMaxi
I read it the same way as you.
'WTF?' is the right reaction to Rachel generally.

OunceOfFlounce · 11/03/2019 09:50

Thanks for adding those responses to this thread BelleHathor, they're amazing.

charlestonchaplin · 11/03/2019 09:50

Melroses
Is that a knee jerk reaction because someone mentioned black women? He does not seem the brightest of sparks. Does he not see what this means for black women athletes?

Quick to label Linford as oversensitive about racism and not 'the brightest of sparks'. You, however, merely got things the wrong way round, when it was bleeding obvious what he was on about! Pray tell. How else could that reaction be taken?

Mankyfoot · 11/03/2019 09:51

hackmum and Daley Thompson

I've done that.
