If you want a chuckle - found this in that thread

first pic is trans athletes. second is outraged response to that pic from Rachel's fellow traveller.

ONLY SHOW TRANSGENDER WOMEN! NO TRANSGENDER MEN (yes, this is deliberate)

I do often think the Russians must be behind this, people can't be this foolish all by themselves.

If they aren't there already, the Russian troll farms will be in on this eventually. They will be provocative on both sides, fuelling the argument with abuse for and against the same topic.

All that angry red lettering is so typically feminine... Brave and stunning personified!

There's a Katie/ Kate ( can't rememebr which, can't be arsed checking) TRA yes-person who pop up unfailingly on twitter threads. I'm convinced they are a Russian troll.

ColeHawlins · 10/03/2019 19:46

big pharma.

Oh, I see.

McKinnon actually accused someone who questioned the dates of the data used to inform their graph of ‘mansplaining’

How does McKinnon know if this person is a man?
You can't tell these days.
Much safer to say personsplaining

Iused2BanOptimist · 11/03/2019 06:47

Seiran. Is that for real? Was that the wife in Canada before the big life change?

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 11/03/2019 06:55

Seiran, on the off chance that your post is real I have reported it I'm afraid

This is uncomfortably close to doxxing. this woman is no longer married to McKinnon and has not sought the limelight - she deserves privacy

BertrandRussell · 11/03/2019 07:02

I reported it too.

Bowlofbabelfish · 11/03/2019 11:50

Someone is benefiting from this

The goal is the dismantling of any kind of class based protections. Sex first, but then it’ll move on to other things. No more real ‘isms’ and no more worker protections. No more sexual boundaries either, as a nice side effect.

Oldermum156 · 11/03/2019 18:45

Of course he wrote it despite women attending their smear tests being at an all time low. It's all about the men and their wants and needs, just as it has always been. It isn't even a question that this tweet could be trolling, insincere or questionable. I see worse, sincere posts and tweets from the trans every day. A "non binary" male I knew reposted a popular tweet that women who questioned the female status of trans (aka "TERFS" should not be given consideration as human beings. They post that we should be beaten, burned, killed, shot, stabbed. So why would anyone think that they believe we have the right to have medical care with the practitioner of our choice?

Oldermum156 · 11/03/2019 18:47

@ColeHawlins - I think you are right on, especially with the "fear of being called bigoted". This is especially true since their targets are mainly young women. Younger women are especially prone to this kind of abuse and bullying. Older women are less so, thus the "witch" and "hag" stereotypes.

BertrandRussell · 11/03/2019 23:24

There are parallels with the rise of the Gay Rights movement- I remember women being immediately sidelined-often by other women- in favour of men. Looking back I can’t believe how we fell for it.

Interesting. What do you mean? Generally I think of the gay rights movement as a Good Thing that has few parallels with trans campaigning.

Yep. They'd still burn us at the stake if they thought they'd get away with it.

Not allowed. Clean Air Act. Smokeless Zones, etc.

KataraJean · 12/03/2019 22:05

MillytantForceit if there was a like button, I would like your post - brilliant Smile

FemalePersonator · 13/03/2019 07:49

Cui bono?

Idiots. The terminally woke. Psychologists who can't tell the difference between male and female mice.

(Apologies; that's tautological.)

JustHereWithMyPopcorn · 13/03/2019 08:35

I think that somewhere down the line someone watched Rex Harrison wondering why a woman can’t be more like a man in My Fair Lady and took it a bit literally.

LuvSmallDogs · 13/03/2019 08:47

I have resigned myself to male ob-gyns, as that is all that is available here, and had no issue with my male GP doing my smear (I absolutely adore him as a doctor, he has just the right bedside manner for me).

But as I have taken to saying when it comes to discussions on choices surrounding male healthcare providers/trans in changing rooms etc...

If you don’t like it, take it up with the man who groomed and molested me, the classmates who cornered and groped me, the old men who have groped me on the bus, the loud groups of drunks who’ve shouted filth at me. They have made me feel this way, COMPLAIN TO THEM.

JessicaWakefieldSVH · 13/03/2019 14:14

The above comment is quite relevant to a thread on AIBU where we’re discussing pedicures and of course we have the usual, NAMALT style crap in relation to women setting boundaries on who can touch them

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/3531272-man-doing-my-pedicure

StarSpangledAnna · 13/03/2019 15:48

Is it even worth contributing to a discussion on RM's twitter? Her latest tweet about the difference in height between Dutch and Indonesian women is just begging to be challenged. I don't think there's much point though.

LuvSmallDogs I love that sentiment. Sexual assault is not our fault. Our reactions to it are not our fault.

ColeHawlins · 13/03/2019 15:55

😏

AssassinatedBeauty · 13/03/2019 15:59

There's no point @StarSpangledAnna, McK doesn't want a discussion, it's about making everyone else shut up and go away.

You can try, but I predict you'll just be blocked and called all kinds of names.
