Bloody hell BBC

Reading the BBC news online this morning and there is not one, but two stories about transgender people. One promoting the transition of a small child, and the other promoting sport for transgender athletes. The latter in particular looks like a direct attempt to counter the news discussion over the last few days in sport.

This isn’t news, it’s wartime propaganda.

Similar to the Labour Party, sorry

WorkingItOutAsIGo · 05/03/2019 08:03

FFS the Today Programme has just said its going to cover whether male and female brains are different. Guess what they will conclude?

Couldn't read that trans kid article. What guff. It's exactly the fucking same as every other propaganda piece we've been fed for what? 8 years now?

Webberly was really surprised that the Panorama piece on Tavistock wasn't just an extended version of the 'transkid' propaganda piece. Maybe her and Suzie got together with Helen Belcher to crack some skulls at the beeb.

EverardDigby · 05/03/2019 08:06

I just came here to say that. I went onto their website because I caught the end of something on Today that I thought was about DV, didn't find that but saw the trans promo. On the plus side they did have an article about cervical screening that talked about women. Considering giving up my licence as I don't watch live telly and very rarely iPlayer.

Also, I only use one towel Hmm.

StealthPolarBear · 05/03/2019 08:08

"
I found the pictures of the child with the drag queen makeup slightly disturbing."
Yes and the comments that she enjoys playing with make up like most nine year old girls. I'm sure some do but my 9yo DD doesn't and neither do her friends so I am furious that they're trying to say most primary school girls play with make up.

Sicario · 05/03/2019 08:09

The BBC is a viper's nest of a corporation. It is built on petty politics and personal agendas, all funded by the tax payer. Their diversity and inclusiveness mantra was infiltrated by the trans agenda a long time ago.

StealthPolarBear · 05/03/2019 08:10

Yes and 12yo ds uses two towels when he can, what the hell has that got to do with gender. This is utter utemter madness and it needs n to stop

TimeLady · 05/03/2019 08:11

I wonder how much of the playing with makeup is influenced by the amount their mums use?

ChattyLion · 05/03/2019 08:11

Sorry but I really don’t agree with parents whose kids are experimenting with something and who like dressing up going and putting their kids lives into the national media like this. Makes it harder for kids to desist in future when we know the vast majority will do so. Big national media and social media fuss now telling the kid they really are a girl called Autumn and to go live their true life as a girl.

Almost as though the parents of these kids are very naive and being encouraged by the self-interested genderist lobby to go public - or it’s as if these parents have got some kind of personal interest or agenda of their own invested in how this plays out for their normally experimenting and possibly gay or lesbians children.

Neither of which position are led by the child’s best interests or child’s right to an open future. Sad

FamilyOfAliens · 05/03/2019 08:11

Perhaps of people saw that they were letting them use toilets and changing rooms or having assemblies telling Kids that stereotypes were what made you a boy or a girl people might stop and think a bit more...

That’s the hill I’m happy to die on after 17 working in family support in education.

I just wish Transgendertrend had the money to send trainers into schools so we could choose between having fact-based training of teachers and trans propaganda.

GerryblewuptheER · 05/03/2019 08:16

I'm.just a mum but I'll join you. This is all.as manipulative as wedding proposals in front of hundreds of people. How does someone back out or say no or change their minds when they they give then a news story and celebrity status

Dont tell me that poor kid down the road whos parents work shifts and he sees his mum half asleep for half an hour a day, wont be tempted by all the attention thrown a kids way for being trans. Deliberate recruiting

Myusernameismud · 05/03/2019 08:20

DD 12 has never been interested in playing with make up, so far anyway. She tucks her long hair up inside a cap, wears tracksuits, plays football and loathes anything seen as 'girly'. As a 6 year old she requested hot wheels for Christmas.
DS10 used to jump out of the bath tuck his willy between his legs and say 'look I'm a girl!'. He also insists on at least 2 towels occasionally 3. He always wanted his finger and toenails painted when he was smaller, not so much now. He played with a pram and had a yellow dress he was particularly fond of in the dress up box.

Guess what? Neither of them were born in the wrong body. I just haven't ever impressed gender stereotypes on them.

Encouraging kids to transition at an age where they are naturally exploring what it means to be a boy/girl is bullshit. It's dangerous and exploitative. And it pisses me right off.

ChattyLion · 05/03/2019 08:20

Also... Christ on a bike.. the idea you can tell who is male or female by noticing how many towels they use or who they say they will want to marry when they grow up. Hmm

Because that’s not at all a homophobic test is it. If they mention same sex attraction then they must be a trans person and be trapped in the wrong body but actually be a straight person all along. Hmm

Not talking here with ref to this (or any other) particular child’s case that their mum or dad has given to the national media of course. This is a v common trope that genderists come out with.

StealthPolarBear · 05/03/2019 08:28

Really good point chatty.
The thought that a boy who wants to marry a boy can't be gay, must in fact be a girl in heavy eyeshadow... Homophobic madness

littlebillie · 05/03/2019 08:28

Oh dear

SchadenfreudePersonified · 05/03/2019 08:30

Why was the men’s team not being asked to be inclusive

THIS in SPADES!

StephsCaddy · 05/03/2019 08:32

Transing the gay away. How very progressive.

Today Programme has just said its going to cover whether male and female brains are different

Don't despair. It might be because of this book The Gendered Brain: The New Neuroscience That Shatters the Myth of the Female Brain by Gina Rippon. The Guardian has reviewed it here www.theguardian.com/books/2019/mar/05/the-gendered-brain-gina-rippon-review

Upthepong · 05/03/2019 08:42

I want to complain to theBBC about this, but I just don't have an ability to put the words together. How can I word this so that they listen to my complaint? Has anyone made a complaint and would be willing to share what they wrote?

stillathing · 05/03/2019 08:52

The first thought that springs to mind is that advertisers are no longer allowed to make such sexist statements, are they?

64632K · 05/03/2019 08:57

FFS the world has lost the plot. I hated make up when I was young, in fact still do, played with good old He-Man and not Barbies, dressed in trackies and trainers, loved Rugby, Basketball, Hockey but my parents let me figure it out my own way.

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 05/03/2019 08:59

from the article about the child

Autumn is very settled into living as a female and, when she talks about the future and her dreams, it's about being a mother and getting married to the man of her dreams

well Autumn will never be a mother, due to being male. Why is Autumn's mother encouraging Autumn to pin Autumn's dreams on something Autumn can never have.

i too am judging the fuck out of that parent

and yes, the BBC is very irresponsible to publish that article. The article itself says

The NHS says most treatment at this stage is psychological and not surgical, because the majority of children with suspected gender dysphoria do not have the condition once they reach puberty

Autumn is very likely to desist and may well not want this phase of Autumns life in the public domain. Why are the BBC invading Autumn's privacy like this? Autumn is 9 for fuck's sake.

Slightlyjaded · 05/03/2019 09:00

Lazy, shit, oxymoronic and biased journalism.

BBC - you are becoming laughable in your attempts to be 'woke'. Because you are, in fact, ticking every, single box that - had this trans-kid been a genetic female - you would be rallying against.

Idiots.

nauticant · 05/03/2019 09:02

The Gina Rippon + Baron Cohen segment was better but that was solely down to it being two scientists who wanted to talk about what they've learned from the science and were keen to avoid looking foolish.

merrymouse · 05/03/2019 09:03

Do you remember Anthony? Do you remember how upset he could get, and how angry he could be? Don't you think Autumn is happier?

They teach coercive control in primary schools?
