I didn't realise Miranda Yardley was in court today over alleged transphobic harrasment.

At Basildon Magistrates Court where Miranda Yardley is on trial for transphobic Harassment. The prosecution applied for reporting restrictions to prevent the complainant Helen Islan from being named. The judge has not granted them. So Helen Islan can be named.

I hope the National lottery people are aware of where their money is going!

It would be very interesting to see if any of Mermaids' funds were used in this legal case. Mermaids are not subject to the FOI but I think The National Lottery Community Fund are. An FOI request to the National Lottery Community Fund requesting them to look into this would probably be brushed aside but might give them pause for thought.

Bloody hell, I need gin reading this insanity - I can’t imagine how Miranda feels

I watched this happen at the time, it became a TRA myth that Miranda had done something terrible when of course all he had actually done is refer to the sex of a child whose image had been placed on line by the mother. Lies and the lying liars that lie. I suppose if you have hyped your self up for a year believing your own lies, which let's face it, is her stock in trade, its gonna be a shock to not have the truth and the whole truth match your lies.

I was midway typing "so do we actually know what the claims of transphobia are?" and then saw that tweet.

So perhaps the judge is also not clear about what constitutes the basis of this claim!

It wasn't necessarily about anything - Islan has repeatedly shown themselves to be a bit of a "mean girl".

I honestly don't understand how it's got this far if there is this little to go on.

It's nonsense.

Unless it's deliberate. To set a precedent, or send a message. No more vexatious litigation.

Defence puts forward evidence of Islan’s tweets about others and of accusations of transphobia. Islan continues to repeat her behaviour and opinions do not justify harassment.
