"My vagina looked SO bad that my mom, sister, and the surgeons wouldn't even let me look at it. Eventually, I used a compact mirror to get a peak and all I could do was laugh. If only you guys knew.."

"In life, everything is about attitude & perspective. Even though my vagina falling apart was the hardest thing I ever experienced, I knew that one day I would be fully healed & recovered. I had to adopt the mindset of my future self & know in my heart that everything would be ok."

twitter.com/JazzJennings__/status/1092969159753850881

"I'm glad that this rare complication happened to me rather than to another trans individual. With the love & support of my family, it makes it easier for me to conquer a challenge like this. I can't imagine how devasting it would be for someone without that support system."

Jazz is talking about the multiple surgeries caused in large part because of the use of puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones.

The 'devastating' effects are what Mermaids are campaigning for for thousands of UK children.

Is it correct that I read Jazz's mum will be helping with the daily dilation?

So many levels of wrong right there.

RomanticFatigue · 07/02/2019 12:52

Poor poor kid, I wonder what jazz really thinks behind all the bravado

I don't think Jazz will feel like she has any options. The decisions were all made for her. She probably feels like she can get on and be a normal girl now. I wonder how her life will pan out, she's so young.

FannyFifer · 07/02/2019 12:59

The whole Jazz thing is just awful, Jazz to me has always come across as a very young gay male.
But ah well a lifetime of surgeries & agony await and never knowing what a sex life, how progressive eh.

NotANotMan · 07/02/2019 13:19

Absolutely tragic. Poor Jazz. Life ruined for gender ideology.

QuickSloeGo · 07/02/2019 14:02

I normally avoid comment, but age ELEVEN

In no way is this not child abuse

RomanticFatigue · 07/02/2019 14:38

OMG, that article in Womens Health has a link to another article about having sex as a transwoman post-bottom surgery and it's horrific.

Datun · 07/02/2019 14:46

“There is nothing else after this. I just get to be myself, be in the body that I’ve always wanted. And then I can live my life as just Jazz.”

This kid is pinning all their hopes on the surgery giving them the peace of mind they crave. Which is not going to happen, in my opinion.

Having to dilate a surgical hole for the rest of your life, is not something that usually constitutes peace of mind. Nor is it 'living life as a woman'.

Plus, what other material is there for future episodes? Dating? The relentless exposure of this kid's intimate details is the only thing that keeps the machine going. That's no life.

How does Jazz envisage life as 'just Jazz'?

RockyFlintstone · 07/02/2019 14:48

From that article:

But the real reveal happened when Jazz finally saw her new vagina for the first time—on TV, no less. "Oh my god, that's crazy," she said. "It's a pretty vagina!" Jazz also had to learn how to use her new vagina, telling her family “I don’t think I know how to pee!”

You 👏 don't 👏pee 👏outta 👏your 👏vagina👏

Although actually it's something I hadn't thought of. Do you actually just wee out of the hole?

At least Jazz got a 'pretty vagina' eh?

NotANotMan · 07/02/2019 14:49

Jazz peed all over themselves because that often happens when the urethra has been repositioned. Jazz will likely pee all over themselves every day forever now

Datun · 07/02/2019 14:55

Just listened to jazz talking about how they lost weight.

Again, I am struck by how they do not sound like any other 18-year-old. Jazz is parroting lines. 'I had to lose weight, because everyone has to be healthy, blah blah blah...'

They are not coming across as analytical or discerning in any way. And I know 18 year olds sometimes aren't, but at least, by this stage, they are beginning to sound a little more adult.

But I've noticed with other young adults who have been on puberty blockers, they all sound a little like this.

Whatisthisfuckery · 07/02/2019 14:57

There’s something particularly sick about keeping a child in perpetual childhood, Both physically mentally and intellectually, then mutilating their childlike genitals so someone else can get pleasure from them. Jazz has disclosed that they’ve had no sexual urges, so one can only conclude that the surgical wound is for the benefit of someone else’s intact penis. It’s all so disturbing. Poor Jazz. I hope they can find a way to enjoy life.

Datun · 07/02/2019 15:08

And then making a TV show about it to entertain millions.

calpop · 07/02/2019 15:23

and make millions

littlbrowndog · 07/02/2019 15:44

Yeah that’s what I don’t get
Putting what is a very very personal thing on the telly. And a child at that.

Mrskeats · 07/02/2019 16:04

feminist I suggest you change your user name as you clearly are not a feminist.

TinselAngel · 07/02/2019 17:28

I see from the article above it is now "gender confirmation" surgery. We've gone from "sex change" to "gender reassignment " to "gender conformation"

Which puts me in mind of this from 1984

"Don't you see that the whole aim of Newspeak is to narrow the range of thought? In the end we shall make thought-crime literally impossible, because there will be no words in which to express it. Every concept that can ever be needed will be expressed by eactly one word, with its meaning rigidly defined and all its subsidiary meanings rubbed out and forgotten. . . . The process will still be continuing long after you and I are dead. Every year fewer and fewer words, and the range of consciousness always a little smaller. Even now, of course, there's no reason or excuse for commiting thought-crime. It's merely a question of self-discipline, reality-control. But in the end there won't be any need even for that. . . . Has it ever occcured to you, Winston, that by the year 2050, at the very latest, not a single human being will be alive who could understand such a conversation as we are having now?"

Re the various members of the public who have been contacted by the police, one of the most poignant responses was something like are you seriously contacting me because somebody's feelings have been hurt by reality?

TinselAngel · 07/02/2019 17:47

I didn't mean to post the screenshot, but it's so true I don't mind saying it twice!

WokerThanWoke · 07/02/2019 18:16

Can I ask a really stupid question about puberty blockers? Will Jazz still be on them now? If you stop taking them can you still go through a puberty?

Sorry I know that is so ignorant, my science knowledge is woeful.

Mrskeats · 07/02/2019 18:18

She will be beyond blockers and onto cross sex hormones which make you unfertile

Mrskeats · 07/02/2019 18:18

Infertile even

WokerThanWoke · 07/02/2019 18:19

Of course, had forgotten about the cross sex hormones. Thanks mrskeats.

NotANotMan · 07/02/2019 18:42

Jazz will have been taking anti androgens and oestrogen for a while, mimicking a female puberty. Now jazz has no testicles there is no need for the anti androgens.

calpop · 07/02/2019 18:48

So what does this do to puberty i.e the process whereby your body and brain mature and change under the influence of your sex specific hormones? Does that mean she skips that entirely? Doesnt that mean she will have a child like body, small thin arms etc and no curves as a woman? Or do the cross sex hormones now mimic that, 5 years late? Either way, its seriously messing with the nornal course of human maturation, of either sex surely? The way children look, think and act changes dramatically as and after they go through puberty at 11/12/13.

Datun · 07/02/2019 19:00

calpop

As far as I'm aware, there aren't enough kids who have gone through this, to produce significant statistics.

The cross sex hormones redistribute fat, and grow breasts, etc. But can't make a female puberty because there is no female reproductive system to work with.
