Seems to be some suggestion that it's as a result of the reaction to her blog post criticising Posie.

The only damage I see is to the saleability of Camp coffee and Mr Frosty.

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 28/01/2019 17:15

Huh? What damage? Women are still here, on Twitter, in real life and are still talking

yes, drama, drama, pointless exhausting drama

that's not what we're here for. we've got work to do

nothing's broken, everything is fine. good things happened today.

Dragon3 · 28/01/2019 17:20

True.

Altitude18 · 28/01/2019 17:26

Drama, drama, pointless exhausting drama

Indeed. Created by Jean.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 28/01/2019 17:29

Oh joy

Another name changing/newbie stirring it

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 28/01/2019 17:30

Apologies

Just a name changer especially for this thread...

R0wantrees · 28/01/2019 17:40

I get all of that Rowan and I appreciate your consistently sensible contributions to this board.

Believe it or not my posts are not about setting the hounds on anyone. But an invitation to think critically.

Politelygiveszerofucks I wasn't responding to you, I haven't read your posts.

but with regards your comment,
"But the countless threads and posts have been about one thing. Damage control. As for the fact that a thread title was amended to remove Standing For Women. sad slow claps"

Doobigetta (the OP of the thread you have referred to) explains:

Just to be clear (and I wasn’t intending to get drawn into this but I wouldn’t want Posie to think I don’t appreciate her efforts) I asked MNHQ to change the title because I felt, and other people I conferred with agreed, that it was confusing. SFW obviously supplied the tshirts, but they did not plan the action so it would be inaccurate and misleading to leave the implication that they did in place. SFW and the ReSisters are separate organisations"

Oxytocindeficient · 28/01/2019 17:41

Nobody was being patronising asking you to read threads, I suggested politely and genuinely. We had such long conversations already it seems, well pointless, to start up another when you’re repeating so much of what has already been responded to.

So when you say you’re not new, have you name changed or were you just banned and then came back under a different name? Or changed user name after debating over the weekend? If you’re going to suggest we be suspicious of Jean, I’m going to suggest the same about you.

Do I agree with the way Jean went about it? No. Plenty of us said we would do thinks differently to Jean, to Posie, and to Lisa. What has been consistently discussed, is that we should still respect the fact that they all do really good work and will have different ways of going about it. Will that mean mistakes? Sure. I don’t think it means we should make conclusions about their sincerity. I think that’s where it gets personal and pointless. If you’re soooo worried about the drama, why don’t you drop it? We have discussed this at length.

Politelygiveszerofucks · 28/01/2019 17:41

A gift given to the TRAs. Loads of pointless exhausting drama. All detracting from what Posie, Venice and Julia are doing.

R0wantrees · 28/01/2019 17:44

Loads of pointless exhausting drama. All detracting from what Posie, Venice and Julia are doing.

There is a choice whether to continue drama, to fan flames or to discuss the grassroot actions in the UK and the important conversations happening now in the US.

Politelygiveszerofucks · 28/01/2019 17:45

OK. Let’s plant this one.

What can we learn from this weekend?

AnyFucker · 28/01/2019 17:46

That Monday is the start of a new week ?

LangCleg · 28/01/2019 17:49

What can we learn from this weekend?

That women should get on with their own good work and let others get on with theirs. And if there is a fallout, don't amplify it by endlessly trying to prove who is right and who is wrong.

Which most of us on FWR have been saying for the best part of a week.

ToeToToe · 28/01/2019 17:50

Is Politely a teacher irl, do you think?

Now children, what have we learned?

I've learned not to buy a Mr Frosty for the kids. Valuable, I think.

Oxytocindeficient · 28/01/2019 17:52

Hopefully someone will start a thread with the video Posie posted from the heritage foundation. I’m fucking bawling here. I respectfully disagree with anyone who thinks we shouldn’t work with women on the right on this. That video shows why it is essential.

I’m going to leave the thread as I may start to contradict myself. I’m just angry at what those families are going through and NOBODY on the left has helped them. NOBODY. Fucking breasts cut off. Fuck left and right politics. Fuck that.

this is the discussion which is being live streamed and which Posie is attending. There are powerful and important speeches being made:

Altitude18 · 28/01/2019 17:57

@Oxytocindeficient - I didn't say anyone had to be 'suspicious' of Jean. I intimated it was planned that she blogged what has turned out to be divisive.

And no - I'm not banned. The NC facility is there for all to use. In this day and Internet age, I think MN do an excellent job of helping to be doxxed, vilified and feel threatened.

We can't have it all ways. Excuse behaviours of some, then attack when the 'den' is threatened.

Why aren't people questioning the likes of Lisa on her accusations over Christmas - of many women?

Why aren't women asking Jean why she chose to announce publicly that she wasn't travelling on a flight that was booked and paid for?

As women, standing up for women, why aren't we allowed to ask such questions?

And I don't want to drop it. I want to know the women I stand with aren't afraid to ask questions when concerned about each other.

Posies recent Facebook live is in this thread that I just watched. I honestly feel sick, angry, infuriated by the wankers on the left. I will not forgive this. These are CHILDREN

terryleather · 28/01/2019 17:58

I agree Betty, Mr. Frosty's reputation is fucked beyond repair but women of all stripes will continue to fight against the threat to our rights no matter who falls out with who and no matter if some choose to adopt the Chicken Licken the-sky-is-falling-in!!!! approach.

I took part in one of the actions (very very very) early this morning and there are pics of what we did here on FWR.

I have to say that I'm so proud to have been a part of this action, standing along side all the other amazing women around the country.

What we're all doing is making a difference and the rest afaic doesn't really matter.

Altitude18 · 28/01/2019 17:58

not to be doxxed etc

Oxytocindeficient · 28/01/2019 18:02

People have asked Jean those questions. The difference between random on MN and those women, is I see them doing important work. I don’t always agree how they go about it. Just read the original thread ffs. Are you saying we are making you feel ‘threatened’. That is laughable. We have had numerous trolls arrive to stir shit today, so you’ll excuse me if I’m not nice when another arrives. I disagree with Jean on this, and amazingly, still support and admire her. Thats what an adult should be capable of doing.

ToeToToe · 28/01/2019 18:03

It was brilliant work terryleather - I can't help but feel that certain people would prefer us all to be arguing about jean than talking about this. Just a hunch.

Today I have learned that there are some amazing women activists around, who are willing to get up v early in the morning Wine

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 28/01/2019 18:03

I agree oxy

My eyes certainly welled

ToeToToe · 28/01/2019 18:03

Oxy, I'm going to watch posie's video now.
