Seems to be some suggestion that it's as a result of the reaction to her blog post criticising Posie.

Plopping gutless wonders - quote from rufus on another thread

Pretty well sums it up

PlectrumElectrum · 28/01/2019 16:25

Looks that way woman. Hmm

Katispancuddly · 28/01/2019 16:35

JackyHolyoake · 28/01/2019 16:36

This may be helpful: a statement written yesterday, 27 Jan, by Natasha Chart of WoLF:

lisamuggeridge · 28/01/2019 16:38

The rum and raisins and the custard all mixed up. Sorry for tangent. But oh my god.

littlbrowndog · 28/01/2019 16:39

No Lisa I have my boundaries
Raisins is one of them
😎😎

BettyDuMonde · 28/01/2019 16:44

I liked both rum and raisin and mint choc chip in my youth.

Shame I birthed out a child with a dairy allergy - it’s been 7 years since I had so much as a single malteaser.

Just one of The Many Sacrifices of Motherhood. Humph.

PlectrumElectrum · 28/01/2019 16:45

Raisins are the rabbit poop of food. Vile disgusting little droplets.

🤢

LangCleg · 28/01/2019 16:46

Thanks, Jacky.

FlyingOink · 28/01/2019 16:46

JackyHolyoake thanks for posting that.

Politelygiveszerofucks no I didn't know but I don't know much! There's still a difference between "not widely known" and "nobody knew you were going until you said you weren't and why". I was just asking in case anyone knew.
Confused

Oxytocindeficient · 28/01/2019 16:48

Thanks Jacky, that’s great and I agree with all of it personally.

Melroses · 28/01/2019 16:48

Can you make rum and raisin sorbet?

Or maybe mango and tequila...………….

Politelygiveszerofucks · 28/01/2019 16:49

I don’t think anyone beyond those involved in planning the trip knew FlyingOink

R0wantrees · 28/01/2019 16:53

I'm proud of the activism of women up and down the country right now. I don't care if they are "branded" by Posie Parker t shirts or not. I support their actions and hope they achieve a change in some people's minds. The stuff they are doing is brilliant. Well done to all the "resisters" movement.

from current thread collecting photos of the statues,
Doobigetta wrote
(extract)
"Posie has been very clear that she speaks for nobody but herself. I started this thread because I think the work done last night was brilliant, and should be shared. I don’t actually speak for anybody but myself either. I think the ReSisters, SFW and Posie Parker and Jean Hatchet are all amazing. I think Lisa Muggeridge is too. And I think it’s educational for the TRAs to know that Women are not a Borg collective with A Leader. But going on about our differences when we could be celebrating our successes is self-defeating, imo. Not to mention fitting neatly into the stereotypes it would be nice to leave behind."

JackyHolyoake · 28/01/2019 16:53

It is clear from Natasha's statement that neither Julia, Posie or Venice has anything to do with organising or speaking at this meeting. Also, given they are at the Congress building today talking with staff of various politicians there, it is not clear if they are even attending. If they are attending it looks more likely they will be in the audience listening and learning from the detransitioners and parents there.

SisterWendyBuckett · 28/01/2019 16:58

Lisa totally nailed it about boundaries.

R0wantrees · 28/01/2019 16:59

As this thread seems to have attracted new posters to FWR, this thread has been found helpful by many wanting to understand the issues better:

JackyHolyoake thanks again

Katispancuddly · 28/01/2019 17:05

"Raisins are the rabbit poop of food"

Snort Grin

I should be more impressed at people actually making ice cream rather than buying it.

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 28/01/2019 17:07

that's a great statement from Natasha Chart. She seems to be a very sensible and clear headed person - it's great to be made aware of her work

Politelygiveszerofucks · 28/01/2019 17:08

I get all of that Rowan and I appreciate your consistently sensible contributions to this board.

Believe it or not my posts are not about setting the hounds on anyone. But an invitation to think critically. To read the WoLF statement. And whether anything positive has been achieved as a result of individuals making it all about themselves. And to be very wary of individuals such as these.

Sure we can all agree to disagree. Yes we are not the Borg. But the countless threads and posts have been about one thing. Damage control. As for the fact that a thread title was amended to remove Standing For Women. Sad slow claps

Altitude18 · 28/01/2019 17:08

This has been an interesting eye-opening spectacle. Having been a long-standing Posie supporter and an avid supporter of Jean's rides for women, I'm astounded at the division.

I have watched lots of Lisa's videos too. All worthy points of view and positions.

And no - I'm not new.

However, I do wonder when people announce a withdrawal from social media then go to another platform to announce they've left another platform. Questions get asked, it's a public forum. Jean, Lisa and Posie are influential activists and the curious enter and are slammed down with patronising messages of 'take your time and read the boards' and the 'we are very protective over our Jean/Posie/Lisa.

Jean knew what her blog would achieve. The levels of influence are huge and the ramifications of such actions affect many people.

Then we read deletions of accounts. Announcements of taking a break. It becomes then easy to view it through a critical lens as intentonally attempting to derail the events of this week.

People ask questions - come here as it's where excellent conversation occurs - then the 'regulars' begin attacking those that aren't contributors about attacking P/J/L.

I mean - Lisa M was quite vocal in her blogging over Christmas. Quite a lot of blogs on women that were attacking on them attacking her.

It's no wonder there's division. And that is deeply worrying.

Dragon3 · 28/01/2019 17:12

And my God. The damage she has done. So I think anger is justified.

Huh? What damage? Women are still here, on Twitter, in real life and are still talking. Two activists had a disagreement on principles. It's really not the end of the world.

Description
Who could be against a law that promises equality and bans discrimination? Parents who’ve already experienced grief, despair, and witnessed medical harms as they attempted to get help for their gender-confused children. Medical experts concerned about how adding "gender identity" into civil rights law would cause physical and psychological harm. People who have transitioned, and then detransitioned, concerned with what this ideology will do to children. Lesbians who have been punished for having the audacity to say that men are not women. Radical feminists concerned that nearly all sex-segregated spaces, colleges, sports, dormitories, and women's rights in general will disappear if “gender identity” becomes a protected class and the dangers this poses to women and girls.
Please join us for a panel discussion featuring speakers from the political left as they share their stories of the harmful consequences of what will happen if "gender identity" ideology is enshrined into U.S. civil rights law.
